I have a lot of games but of the ones I have been playing recently, Valhalla really stands out. Sadly not because of its quality, but because it crashes very often, usually at the worst possible moment. For instance, I just killed the Champion of Lugh and got the spear, then headed back to the ship (thanks a lot for that pointless timewaster mechanic, having to head back to the ship after killing everyone and looting everything really enhances my gameplay experience a lot) and just as it was in sight the game crashed. All progress lost, great. Only the third time this has happened this session. What could be more fun? Maybe I should poke myself in the eye with a fork while playing to possibly top this. Whoever decided that river raid content shouldn't save, something that can take quite a while if you could play properly and raid several locations to fill up that hold: maybe hold that thought until the bloated game actually works? I mean it's only been out for a bit over a year, who could possibly expect it to work properly? Also, the very, very long time it takes to start up doesn't help. Even after reinstalling after the recent upgrade that was supposed to shorten load times it is hardly faster and not a bit more stable than before, the "checking for updates" farce alone takes longer than loading up Far Cry 6 and AC Origins, combined. Also, why does the blessed thing stop and wait for input before it even starts checking? It's not like there's a video playing or something if you don't press a key. So you can't even do something else or take a nap while Valhalla slowly and unsteadily loads up, you have to wait through the unskippable intro movies and press a button, or else it will just sit there like a dead snail, minus the stink.

@orldan Hi there, sorry to hear you've been experiencing long loading times and crashes. I'd like to investigate this further and see if we can narrow down a cause for the issues.

First of all, could you run through the steps in our basic PC troubleshooting guide? That should account for a number of common issues.

I see you reached out in the past and did some troubleshooting, but since that was a few months ago it would be good to start fresh. I recommend creating a case on our support site and uploading your system files. Once you've uploaded those files, please update this thread.
