It is my opinion that you don't need to blast the screen with particle effects to create an impactful spell.

More often than not, sound design matters the most. Subtle bleeding effects are also very satisfying.

I really dislike how particle-heavy the animations we've been shown so far seem to be: the mage blink and the huge channeled beam, the tank's every hit generating lots of sparkles...It's too much for me.

I'm afraid the game will end up looking like GW2 when there are many players involved, and it's not a good look. Visual clusterf*cks look terrible.

I for one would like more tame animations. Thoughts?
