Reduced Ridden Hive spawn chance to 5/2% from 8/3%.

Unless I am misinterpreting this poorly phrased bullet point on the patch notes (What does 5/2% even mean) they are making it so that the paid expansion content is now less accessible than before.

Why? How is this a good idea?

"Hives make the game too long"

that's poor game design on their part. They should have made them shorter, or made it so that the hive skips chapter/s to keep the overall campaign length the same.

Or made them actually fun enough that people want a longer campaign. The game is supposed to be fun, i'd be kinda bummed if I designed an expansion that people paid for then still actively skipped because it took too long.

"Hives make you too powerful if you get lots of them"

that's poor balancing on their part. Make them harder early on so it's more of a risk to enter, or make the rewards scale better.

It seems ridiculous to me that they'd release a paid expansion and then reduce how often i'll get access to it. This also means I will have fewer skull totems and less access to the cosmetic lines and extra cards found on the totem line too.

I genuinely can't think of a single other game where the developers actively restrict access to paid DLC.

Ack! So this was a patch notes error and didn't go live. We shouldn't see any change in frequency for dungeon spawns.
