So many of us have gone through No Hope with varying levels of success. Even with the right group it's still a challenge. But after I've gotten used to it, it doesn't seem as difficult as it once was.

With burn cards, the power creep of normal cards and hives it feels like even when they make the game more difficult, it also becomes slightly more easy.

I don't think the solution is adding more corruption cards or making the baddies stronger. I think a No Hope mode where burn cards are unavailable, but you get to pick a couple more regular cards. Or if they got rid of card shrines. Something along those lines would help make the challenge more challenging.

But I also don't think the solution is failing runs due to lack of continues. If we dropped burn cards, I'd say the game mode would have infinite continues, leave it up to the group to give up if they don't think it's possible to get through the run.

The new mode is kind of like a new difficulty. It can be a lot more hard than No Hope. The No Hope Balance team couldn't get through it with everything turned all the way up.
