I play in Xbox parties but I do not have party overlay on
Some players have reported success regarding disabling that overlay and it would have been my suggestion for you.

I noticed that too, but the effect was there even after I left that area until I died

I have. I did FDB and downed 4 people before using the knife to execute them. I ran the pain in the neck animation. I’ll run another game with an update

I received some interesting reports from a player that the challenge was not tacking if using a non-default finisher. Did anyone encounter this?
It’s not just FTDB games. This happens all the time on hardcore matches. I did 10 long shots and 4 bloodthristies in one game before I got “connection interrupted” messages and lag. The game lagged out and got a pop up message saying something like (UI error). It had counted my camos, I then went into nuke town 24/7 hardcore, completed a game despite connection interrupted errors and the camos from before disappeared.
I tested my connection status on PS4 and all is fine. It’s Cold War that has issues.
