reminder! when you send me work emails about "partnering" to "implement" NFTs/web3 into the games i make i interpret it not only as an inane proposal but also as an act of aggression against the medium i work in and love
bought this game yesterday
y'all really let me keep "see that's mountain" up for 9 hours. this is what disappointing game design does to me
yes this house's roof is flush with the ground and easily climbable. no you can't climb it
elder scrolls online is very uh. see that's mountain? it's a mountain
one day i'll make Sims 0.5. plays like modern sims but it looks like the house from SimAnt
i love watching old Computer Chronicles episodes it doesn't matter if it's from 1987 or 2001 there's always some guy in a suit demoing some new visual programming system like it's the future of software development
google regularly asks developers to up the minimum targeted version so this may still become an issue one day. however that is for someone else to worry about (ie. future me)
okay i've decided to solve this problem by completely ignoring it. the build failure was caused by me trying to comply with a new appstore policy but it looks like it doesn't concern us just yet as the android version we target isn't affected at the moment
any sufficiently advanced development environment is indistinguishable from malware
getting back to mobile app development shouldn't pose any problem. i already fixed up my workflow a couple months back and i haven't touched anything since so i doubt anything magically broke by itself during that time.
ah
what did that gear even do anyway
link!
okay thank u i'll get back to the mobile update now
anniversary update! Cookie Clicker turns 9 today somehow so here's a tiny patch with a new feature!
check out v.2.049 on the beta
tomorrow, i bring you... gifts
yes, it’s available to players! once the patch hits you’ll be able to use it by clicking the “Edit ascend” button in the dev tools. i expect it could be useful to modders with some tweaks. you still have to declare the connections in code tho
fun!
got distracted again and rewrote the tool i use to position heavenly upgrades so i can make larger-scale changes easily
we should expand the debate regarding the correct pronunciation of "gif" to other words too, such as "gamer"
there's no sweet medium between premature optimization and technical debt. in fact there's a significant overlap
