support.microsoft.com

Latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads

This article lists the download links for the latest versions of Visual C++ Redistributable packages. support.microsoft.com And run the x86 and x64 installers there.

THEN Right click on ck3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.

Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, refresh rate 60.

Is that any better?

If not, now run ck3exe directly from File Explorer. What happens , does any error show?

No real idea then. Can i et a new dxdiag.txt please, and install and run the free utility Speccy. Send its output to a text file and attach that here, thanks.

Still getting the c0000374 Windows error against ck3.exe in that dxdiag. That would normally be a bug in the relevant app, except it cannot be here or everyone would get it. There must be some other component in your Windows installation causing that.

As you can see in that Speccy output there are several failed or ""in progress" Windows updates going back to July last year. If you run the Update utility manually does it find anything to do? If apply that and reboot.

Then run this repair tool:

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files

Please check with Razer for updates to all those drivers and utilities you have from them, we've seen some problems from them recently.

If none of that helps, make a new Windows user on this machine and log into it with that - do you still get the problem there?

Weird how some of their drivers are still old then!

*shrug*

Still lots of "In Progress" Windows updates there I see.

If you make a new user in Windows and log into it with that, does this problem still happen?

If so, go into the startup apps menu and disable everything you can, and reboot - still a problem?

I am sorry then, I cannot see what is wrong in Windows here to cause this to you!

I'm sure a clean wipe and reinstall of Windows would fix it - a lot to contemplate to get a game going, I know!

h0sti1e17 said: I am having the same exact issue. Have done everything there. The only difference is I am on GamePass as opposed to Steam. Any updates?

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

CK3.exe is crashing with Windows error c0000374 , I don't have a known cause for that I'm afraid!

Has this game ever worked for you? Or never yet?

I assume EU4 and HOI4 work okay on this machine?

Does that find anything to fix?

That's a shame, I'm pretty much out of ideas here. Can i get a text output from Speccy, please, as I requested from the OP above?
