[2020] Lag in Crusader Kings 3

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox/CK3/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log  

Please change the framerate cap to 60. There is a slightly newer nVidia driver out now, may as well try that too:

I don't see anything else in there to cause this!  

Some crashes in the nVidia software in there, which were not in the previous dxdiag. Did you see those happen?

The framerate cap I was talking about is done in the game launcher, not in GeForce Experience. Please exit GFE entirely, run the launcher, turn off Vsync, and set refresh rate to 60 in there.  

GeForce Experience is an application running in your computer, that nVidia install. It tries to 'optimise' the video settings of games, but sometimes it makes things worse instead. I'm asking you to unload it, so it is not running any more, then test the game again.  

I should have looked at your film before! I see that campaign has a huge empire, which is known to cause this kind of problem wth this game (and, interestingly, with its predecessor CK2). I take it you don't see this happen in a new campaign , just in that particular one?  

In that case this will need a code fix. I'm pretty sure I've asked a previous user to make a thread in Bug Reports on this; see if you can find that thread and add your save to it. If you can't spot it, just go ahead and make a new thread there.

If you can't find it you are welcome to make a new thread there. That is if this only happens to you when you have a huge empire on the map, is that right?

Getting no reply doesn't mean it's not been read and acted on!  

See if there is a fix in the next patch 1.3.1 when it becomes public.

If not, I guess you should make a new thread in Bug Reports with a save showing the issue under that patch.
