I can't explain where the save files went, nor how without them you can be out of space for them! That makes no sense.

In any case all I know to do with console issues is this:

- uninstall the game from the XBox

- clear the XBox cache and game files (save game data)

We cannot help with modded games here I'm afraid. If you disable ALL mods in our launcher, can you then start and play a new campaign?

What if you swap from DX11 to Vulkan, is that any better?

Is your MacOS User Documents folder on your local disk, or has iCloud grabbed it? If the latter, that's a problem with the launcher at the moment - can you move it back?

If that's not the issue, then it's probably a file access/permissions issue in MacOS. Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy. Then select the Privacy tab. Scroll down to files and folder in the left column. You’ll see a list of apps and the folders they need access to. Check the box to give access.

We see some mod errors in there, you have definitely disabled ALL mods while we work on this?

I see the refresh rate is not capped as 60 as I suggested before, please implement that.

And you may as well update that nVidia driver to Dec 2022 https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us , and make sure you unload GeForce Experience before starting the game. Any better?

I explicitly said to NOT delete the folder! Only its contents.

Is it still there now ? To see it you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

From those screenshots it's pretty clear your hardware is overheating; any temp above 80c (176f) will likely cause problems.

Clean out all air vents it has (compressed air cans are good for this). Make sure airflow to them is not blocked by anything like walls, books or whatever.
If that doesn't drop the temps enough, you probably have a faulty fan or a heatsink/thermal paste problem. You may need professional help at that point.

Good luck!

:Iljakll said: have an idea as to why this issue is occurring but I am brand new to PC gaming so plz correct me if I'm wrong. The GPU memory is split into 2 devices. I have 4GB in my I7 and 4GB in my GeforceRTX
The Intel video system has essentially no Vram of its own, it uses system memory up to 4gb if it needs to. The nVidia card has its own dedicated Vram which is unconnected with system memory or the Intel video system. This is so for every machine in the world with dual Intel/nVidia video setups. The game solely uses the nVidia GPU. However you might check with ... Read more

:Iljakll said: Cont: I posted about this a couple of times on the bug forum but got no response. So, my apologies if this belongs on the bug forum, but i'm getting no responses there.
Paradox are shut down for their annual winter break, so I'm afraid that is as expected for this time of year. Furthermore it seems unlikely your issue is an actual game bug, or everyone would get it.

Right click on ck3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher... Read more

You must have run the launcher from the desktop shortcut, which is a standalone mode for users who do not want to run Steam. It does need a separate game installation if used that way, and anyway this game is no longer supported on that platform.

You need to run it from the PLAY button in your Steam Library.

We have three possible workarounds that may solve it:

Disable IPv6
- Close CK3
- Go to Control Panel > View Network status and tasks > Change adapter settings (left side)
- Find your Hamachi Connection and Disable it
- Find your Internet connection adapter (for me, it was WiFi)
- Right click your internet adapter and select properties
- Scroll down to find "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and uncheck the box
- Select Ok
- Start up CK3 and should work.

Disable all other network adapters

  1. Go to Windows Control panel.
  2. Click on Network & Internet.
  3. Click on View Network Status.
Quick Tip: You can also quickly access these settings by right-clicking the network icon in the taskbar and selecting the Network & Internet settings option.
  4. Click on Change adapter options.
  5. Right-click all network adap...

In that case you can work by binary division: disable half the mods and test, the problem one will be in one half or the other. As I calculate it 5 iterations should narrow 40 down to 1, if it is really one bad mod!

And as I say, if you need more detailed help, or if any of your mods are known bad ones, User Mods forum is the place for it.

Yes, that is a known issue when one empire controls much of the map, and any large war or rebellion breaks out. You should be able to find other such reports in the Bug Reports forum here.

Please add your saved game to one of those threads, or make yourself a new one there for that if you prefer.

Sorry for that problem!

I know nothing about mods I'm afraid. If the game runs okay when no mods are enabled, all you can really do is eliminate them one by one.

You may need help from the User Mods forum here too.

Good luck!

Brokeman30 said: I don't think it is a bug I think it is a stability problem in the game that needs to be optimized
But a stability problem in the game would be a bug ... ?!? Unless you feel it is something in your own environment doing it?

I moved your previous thread to MP because I don't have anything to suggest here, sorry.

But if you believe it to be a game bug, then the Bug Reports forum is the place to post that.

I see, I don't have a good explanation why this is happening to you then.

Do you have any over clocking enabled on this machine? If so try undoing that please.

If that doesn't help, install and run the free utility Speccy. Send its output to a text file and attach that here please.

This game is no longer supported on the standalone Paradox launcher platform. But even if it was, that would not fix your crashing problem, as the game is essentially identical on all platforms.

If you can fill out your situation we'll try to help you with the crashes.
