The temporary beta branch is now obsolete as the fix in it is not out of the main branch, so closing thread.

Every opted into it please opt out to the main release so you get future updates, thanks.

In the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, refresh rate 60.

Is that any better?

Then you have an unrelated problem. Please make a new thread here with full system details and problem history, thanks.

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test with a new campaign, NOT any existing

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

If those don't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button ... Read more

If that save crashes reliably AND has no mods used in it, please make a new thread in Bug Reports and attach it there, thanks.

If so that is fixed by the minor patch just released. Do you have that yet?

Is this when playing a save from the previous patch 1.6.1.2 under the ew 1.7 patch? Or it happens with a new game started now too?

Is the game you are trying to resume from the previous patch 1.6.1.2 ? If so please revert to that version in the Steam Beta stab for this game to continue it.

Note that issue will be unrelated to your launcher problem:
2022-09-11 14:21:50 [repository] [WARNING] Error in response: Get : signing TTL received is too close to current time (threshold of 60 sec)
This error means your computer is not on good internet time, which confuses our servers. Go into the Date&Time control panel and make sure Set Time Automatically is ON. Then hit the Sync Now button.

Then run the game again, the launcher will probably update itself now.

All the best!

Thanks for that great work! Did you report this in Bug Reports, as I suggested?

Sessorach said: Correct, the game has not been able to start under any of the versions I have tried.

I have attached the Speccy output for my computer, let me know if there is any other information I can provide.
As you can see in there, multiple Windows updates are still In Progress or failed since 2020. Whether that's related to this issue or not I'm not sure, but it's not good. If you manually run the Update utility does it find anything to do? If so apply that and reboot.

You should also check for updates to all those Razer drivers and utili... Read more

Drackn said: Is this the same launcher that Gamepass uses, if so do you know if the AVX fix mentioned in the pinned thread will be included on gamepasd?
No. This is referring to the standalone launcher, for which this game is no longer supported. It is nothing whatsoever to do with the AVX issue on any platform.

Can you just double check the Steam Library says you are in that AVX beta please?

Otherwise

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

Drackn said: Hello, on a different thread, you mentioned no updates would be released on the launcher, does this mean Game pass version will not receive the AVX fix.
Thank you
I'm sure the AVX fix will be in the next official patch on all platforms.

Please try the following:

- unsubscribe from all mods in BOTH the Steam Workshop and the Paradox mod site mods.paradoxplaza.com
- delete the folder Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/mod/
- delete the file Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/mods_registry.json (if present)
- delete the file Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3/launcher-v2.sqlite (if present)
- run the game up and check the launcher is okay with no mod or other errors
- subscribe to a few mods

- run the game up and see if those mods are now available to you.

I hope that does it for you!

Please try this:

- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.

Delete the following folders if still present:

- C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users//AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users//AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

- exit the Steam app entirely
- run steam.exe as the Windows Admin user

- run the game from the PLAY button in Steam

IF that doesn't help, in this folder are some .log files:
C:/users//AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
Please attach them here.
