Took a detour on my way here - flew over Pacifica and Santo Domingo. The way people live there, just a five minute AV ride away - it breaks my heart. People say my charity galas are a PR stunt, that I’m grandstanding. Nothing could be further from the truth. It’s my duty, my moral obligation as a well-to-do Night Citizen to give back to those less fortunate than myself. These fundraisers are where people with means can gather and come up with solutions to make the world a better place for all. Yes - a ticket costs 50,000 eddies, yes - it’s invite-only, but how else would we raise the money? If it wasn’t exclusive, nobody would show up. Sure, sometimes things get a little wild, but in the end it’s all for a good cause. Look, people like to waste their time getting jealous and criticizing me, but what are they doing to help others? I rest my case.
