There is much confusion in the community as to whether the perk Firing Line is working as intended:

People should be aware that Firing Line is NOT bugged.

Is Firing Line bugged or not?

I believe firing line isn’t bugged… you misread the TWAB

Bungie, can we please know if Firing Line is bugged or not?

Firing Line buffs precision multiplier

The perk states that “This weapon deals increased precision damage when near two or more allies”. Previously the perk buffed all precision damage by a flat 25 %. However, this was nerfed to 20 % recently in the Destiny 2 2.27 patch that went live on August 24.

The problem is that Firing Line gives only a 12-14 % damage buff to precision damage overall because it applies only to bonus precision damage. Worse still, for LMGs it gives only a 6 % damage buff!

This is odd. Vorpal Weapon gives a flat 15 % damage increase to majors and bosses, requires no setup and applies to all damage types (not just precision damage), whereas Firing Line only works with two or more allies in close proximity, only applies to precision damage and gives less bonus damage overall.

If intended there is no reason to use Firing Line.

Was this change intentional?

Not intentional. Looks like there is a bug with the perk right now and we are working on a fix in a future update.
