978s I have to say it just went way beyond my
981s expectation it's like nothing that we
984s had in D4 pure hatred their misto army
988s they wanted them to feel a little bit
989s bit more different from your typical
991s demon family everyone's quality was
993s top-notch but at the time we didn't know
996s if it was going to work I think where we
997s landed is is going to turn some heads
1000s this is not your normal thing it's it's
1002s the living form of
1011s hatred the new monster class that we
1014s could to introduce they're called
1015s Hollows these Hollows have actually been
1018s around for like Millen
1020s Mesto at some point did go to nantu a
1023s long long long time ago and these
1025s Hollows were a reaction of Mesto being
1029s in nantu at the time and then they went
1033s dormant bringing Mesto in the Soul Stone
1038s um seems like the right thing to do for
1041s Nao but it has a chain reaction that I
1045s don't think anybody was prepared for
1049s the hollows are really Rife throughout
1052s the hantu now that misto is back and
1055s just visually like horribly disgusting
1058s and sort of made up of the things that
1060s have been consumed by the hollows yeah
1063s they're an extension of evil infecting
1066s wildlife and other monsters and people
1069s with this thing called ier and they're
1071s just sort of going
1074s mad when we're designing the hollows the
1078s the main thing that that we wanted to
1080s push was just if if hatred came to life
1084s what would it look like so we were
1086s thinking this black goo that's kind of
1089s like formless but also have this red
1093s anger energy inside of it and then with
1096s Concept we just want to make you know
1098s cool monsters what if it's three legs
1101s what if it's no legs what if it has like
1102s three arms so we pushed a lot of like
1105s options and exploration and then from
1108s then on like everyone from narrative to
1110s design and concept would talk about and
1112s like okay we like this one and then we
1114s can push it and move
1118s further the hollow family is made up of
1120s four members the swarmer the spitter the
1124s caster and the
1126s brutes a big thing for me was that the
1129s family need to be overwhelming without
1132s just relying on pure number so they're
1134s going to get stronger over time if you
1135s let them Fester their their their hatred
1138s after all the swarmer can teleport and
1141s attack you from behind sides the spitter
1145s is a slug with legs they spew out this
1148s vit stream of Goo root is the big
1152s hulking slow guy of the family he has
1154s the shields that's buffing and making
1156s the rest of the Army stronger Caster is
1158s responsible for creating new swarmers
1161s they also will Channel onto a specific
1163s Hollow and view them with extra hatred
1166s makes them stronger and more deadly the
1169s Holter Ro serve as a elegant hovering
1173s yet maning ding character in a game
1176s really informed many of our design ideas
1179s when we want to make a new variant we
1182s want to know in which specific area we
1186s were going to see that character or
1188s creature readability is like the main
1191s focus went through several iteration on
1193s the design the texture the materials and
1196s the camera testing the day after she
1198s gave like what was 10 different
1201s variations I was okay now we are talking
1205s the emission on the spikes really like
1209s did an awesome job uh to boast on the
1212s the cat and also to improve the
1215s readability and in the end way have the
1218s version that we were both happy with and
1221s yeah hand it over to the tech
1225s artist we had some really strong
1227s narrative Direction in understanding how
1230s big of a role hatred played and we knew
1233s that we needed one look to tie it all
1236s together this hatred has one source and
1238s it's all it's all about Mesto for the
1241s hollow specifically we identified that
1243s we wanted to do some special work with
1246s the materials with the shaders for those
1248s characters shaders are the code that
1251s runs on the GPU that takes in all sorts
1255s of inputs like textures and lighting and
1257s position and outputs what the object's
1260s surface is supposed to look like we
1262s wanted a Shader that was capable of
1265s adding this sludge layer this hatred
1267s layer over top of it and making it
1269s Dynamic and animating so that it really
1271s looks like it was constantly undulating
1273s or ring so once we had this Shader
1276s function we were able to kind of apply
1279s that in all these different contexts
1281s like the monsters like the environment
1283s the character armors even most of the
1285s Shader work was done by Alex who really
1288s took the Shader function and made it
1290s work in all sorts of different contexts
1293s and we also have the hatred add-ons to
1296s these characters these tentacles these
1298s ring hatred growths all over them which
1301s was a procedurally generated process
1303s that was largely run by Sky on our
1307s team the hollow's boss was kind of born
1310s of this idea of what does a pinnical
1313s hollow really look like we have the
1315s hollow family um and that was pretty
1317s well defined by the time that the
1319s hollow's boss kind of came up for
1321s concepting our artist Victor had a had a
1323s lot of cool ideas for horror themes and
1327s really wanting to push visuals with
1328s contortions and like breaking the neck
1330s of this monster all over the place
1332s that's where we had the option to go
1334s like can we push it and really get that
1337s idea of what hatred and the hollows are
1339s all about this Inky black acre that
1343s latched on to a once powerful
1346s spellcaster it was such a great source
1348s of power or that this particular Hollows
1351s monster turned into the Priestess of
1367s hatred camera
1370s settle um I'm Victor Lee a principal
1373s concept artist on the uh Diablo team and
1376s I concepted the priess of hatred
1379s Victor Le is one of the ogs from Diablo
1383s and he's known for creating a lot of
1386s dark imagery and every time we want to
1389s have a monster or boss he's he's done
1391s all the greats even Diablo himself one
1394s of his monitors on on the side of his
1397s desk is just like a dark black eye
1399s staring at him and so when when we
1402s needed something that's pure Darkness
1405s like we had to tap
1407s Vic I feel like when we're talking about
1410s hatred I kind of Imagine visualize it as
1413s like a black Webby like thing so I
1416s thought a spider
1418s configuration would work for this so I
1421s did a few variations some with um Souls
1426s human Souls trapped in the abdomen it's
1428s like a Purgatory because this creature
1430s consumes
1432s humans I have this nagging feeling for a
1434s long time that why I felt it's not
1437s working no matter how interesting the
1440s design
1441s is I'm not pushing the boundaries so I
1446s basically rethought the whole
1449s thing a lot of our creatures are just
1451s like raw aggression it's just muscly and
1455s and just brutal maybe this one is more
1459s Insidious what if the human figure is
1462s not controlling the hatred but it's the
1464s other way around like the hatred is
1466s actually
1469s mocking Humanity it's like dragging a
1472s puppet around so what I did is I kept
1476s the human figure as a focal point but
1479s the rest of the creature is this moving
1481s mass of basically a ball of
1486s hatred it broke a lot of rules but I
1490s felt I just felt like this just fits um
1493s so I went ahead with it and rendered it
1495s out
1503s I was looking at the concept for the
1506s first time with the designer on the
1508s feature Charles and we were kind of in
1510s this stunned silence for a little bit
1512s because it was this reaction of this
1514s thing is so cool and then we started
1518s thinking how are we even going to make
1520s this thing
1522s move typically our monsters are bipedal
1525s or they're quadrip heads how is it going
1527s to move we can't realize on walk Cycles
1529s anymore how's it going to rotate we
1531s can't rely on you know the built-in
1533s rotation stuff without it looking weird
1534s as hell it was clear that in order to
1537s make this like animate and look natural
1539s we were going to have to pretty much
1541s dive into Uncharted
1543s Territory we wanted it to move in a very
1546s unique way we wanted it to somersault
1548s through the air and be super
1549s unpredictable and Zippy and just have
1551s like ridiculous animations as those
1554s tentacles are flying all over the place
1556s we had that narrative and kind of drive
1558s to make get formless and with our
1561s conventional rigging that we can do that
1563s we were doing prototyping before the
1565s feature even kicked off like we were
1567s already meeting with animation and Tech
1569s art to say hey we have this thing we
1571s think it's really cool but we need help
1573s figuring this out so we had a lot of
1575s early collaboration which was really
1577s what set us up for Success when the
1579s animator came back with it going from
1581s post to post rather than your normal
1583s animations I like yes that's it that's
1586s what hatred should feel like
1591s when you first find the Priestess of
1592s patriot it's going to look like a
1595s lifeless human corpse and you're like
1598s this is doesn't look like a boss fight
1600s I'm in a Boss Arena what's going on but
1602s as you approach you see that the body
1604s gets pulled into a giant pool of patriot
1606s and then out of that pool of patriot
1608s comes this giant mass of tentacles and
1611s that is the
1612s boss so after animation it gets to come
1615s to me and I get to do all of the really
1618s cool VIs visual effects at the end show
1620s what those tentacles are doing when they
1622s impact the ground when they slap
1624s something when they hit the player it
1626s really brings the entire thing
1631s together the vomit attack is really
1634s gross because there's like this uh part
1637s of the Torso of the humanoid that has
1640s been kind of hollowed out and now has
1643s teeth the tentacles come out from the
1645s mass and they grab the the humanoid and
1648s kind kind of pull the body back so that
1650s the slit in the belly opens up and all
1653s of the hatred just pours out a straight
1655s beam it's it's pretty
1658s gross the hollows are just such a unique
1662s family from the moment they spawn in on
1664s your screen you can tell that they are
1666s different they have just such unique
1668s behaviors and animations we were able to
1672s execute on a vision that's really just
1673s so different than what we typically do
1675s the whole process like me feel very
1677s proud of um our whole team everyone just
1680s got it they understood what the Monster
1682s was they got the vision and it just
1691s worked the eye on the screen has many
1694s functions it keeps me in the right frame
1698s of mind um what we're doing is dark it
1703s should be horrifying I should feel the
1705s fear while I'm doing it um is a reminder
1709s of that the eye also serves
1714s as uh a warning like get moving don't
1718s dwell too long and and wander around you
1721s know get this thing

1759s everyone it's been a little while since
1761s we've seen everyone uh we obviously lots
1764s of have has changed since our last
1766s stream uh we ended up launching vle of
1768s hatred which is really awesome to see
1770s tons of players online checking out all
1773s the new features within Diablo I and of
1775s course uh the spirit born as well uh
1777s we've been hearing a lot about this s
1779s more seems seems a little uh obvious and
1784s yeah awesome and we right it's too weak
1787s that's that's apparently what we most
1790s definitely heard but uh no it is uh it
1794s is little strong and we've heard that
1795s from a lot of people we'll be talking
1797s about that a little bit today um but
1799s first before we do jump in I I do want
1801s to um talk about uh some plans upcoming
1804s plans that we have uh for streams
1806s obviously we're doing this stream right
1807s now for the mid-season update uh the
1809s mid-season update is actually currently
1811s scheduled to release next week um we
1814s won't have patch notes immediately after
1816s this stream as you know we're doing the
1817s stream on a Tuesday which is a little
1819s bit of a different day for us uh we
1821s typically end up doing these streams
1823s later in the week when we do release
1824s those patch notes but you will have
1825s patch notes later this week uh we just
1827s need to get them through localization
1829s make sure everyone sees them and we get
1831s through uh we get all the final changes
1833s in them before uh we actually do release
1835s them but you will have the final patch
1837s notes for mid-season update later this
1839s week and then uh again mid-season update
1841s next week we will be back next week for
1844s another Stream So back toback weeks for
1847s streams lots of streams coming up so
1849s this one's going to be a pretty quick
1851s one to go over midseason update and then
1853s next week we're actually going to talk
1855s about the season 7 PTR uh we
1859s and I should actually call it patch 2.1
1861s PTR is is specifically the name of it um
1865s we're going to be talking about all the
1866s changes that are coming with patch 2.1
1868s uh that stream is also going to be a
1871s little earlier than when PTR is planning
1874s on actually starting that's only because
1876s for those here in the US that are aware
1878s of it uh the Thanksgiving holiday is
1880s coming up towards the end of November uh
1882s and we uh won't have people in the
1884s office so we want to make sure that we
1886s can do the stream a little early and get
1888s and talk to everyone about uh the patch
1891s 2.1 PTR uh before the end of the month
1894s uh PTR itself will will is planning on
1897s starting after the holidays it's uh or
1900s after that that Thanksgiving holiday in
1901s the US and then for uh the notes
1905s regarding PTR will have that before the
1907s holidays so everyone to who at least in
1910s the US they they they they can eat
1912s turkey read patch notes and then
1915s elsewhere they can just read patch notes
1919s and so uh we have a lot of stuff coming
1921s up uh and a lot to talk about but uh
1924s before you know we we do get towards um
1927s some of the other items I know Colin uh
1929s you want to talk a little bit about
1931s where we're at with with D4 at the
1933s moment yeah absolutely so um I I'll try
1936s and keep it short and sweet uh for the
1938s midseason uh we actually think I just
1940s wanted to talk a little bit about how we
1942s think about the game currently you know
1943s we've changed a lot over the past year
1945s we've changed itemization we've changed
1947s all of the progression
1949s and generally I think um you know we've
1950s seen a ton of positive feedback around a
1953s lot of the progression changes made in
1954s X1 which is fantastic we're really
1956s excited to make a lot of these changes I
1958s think it's hit a lot of the goals in
1960s terms of opening up what builds you can
1962s actually play and experience a lot of
1963s the end game which is great of course
1965s there's you know Spirit born kicking ass
1967s and pit tier 150 but like uh otherwise
1970s there's a lot of builds that sort of can
1972s cut it in the endgame starting in
1973s tournament one um and I think that's
1975s been super like uh sort of successful
1977s for us
1978s um and I also think like a lot of the
1981s sort of itemization changes uh we made
1983s in terms of ancestral items we think
1985s that like they're a little bit on the
1986s low side we'll talk a little bit more um
1988s next week in the PTR in terms of buffing
1990s those um but we think like it's actually
1992s pretty cool that there's those Chase
1993s items that people are looking for um and
1996s I think just generally we're pretty
1997s happy with how a lot of the things
1999s landed and right now we're sort of
2000s taking a step back and seeing okay now
2002s that we've made a lot of these changes
2004s what are the more iterative steps we're
2005s going to take in the next year in terms
2007s of like tightening up a lot of things um
2009s you know full disclosure I think we
2011s missed the mark a little bit on material
2012s tuning and things like that so we're had
2014s to do a couple updates on material just
2018s a couple so so we're really looking at
2020s tightening up a lot of those things and
2022s sort of make uh sort of making more
2023s iterative um changes to the overall
2025s progression of the game and we hope that
2027s that creates some more stability um and
2029s that sort of lets us you know sort of uh
2031s put more time and focus on like balance
2033s and and adding more things and and um
2035s sort of leveling up the game in that
2037s sort of way yeah just thinking back a
2039s year ago like so much has changed in our
2042s systems right like we have we did all of
2043s our combat math over again we changed
2045s resistances we changed uh how loot drops
2048s and you know the whole upgrade system
2050s there in season 4 unique's got a big
2052s overhaul like there's been so much
2055s change in things I'm I'm looking forward
2056s to having a chance for things to kind of
2057s settle down and we can fine-tune and
2060s refine the existing systems that we have
2062s now that we have so many ways of
2063s progressing your character making
2064s yourself stronger um and I think there's
2066s a lot of room for improvement inside of
2068s these systems to make them kind of
2069s better which I know people have been
2070s requesting a lot so we're looking
2071s forward to that yeah yeah it's really
2073s about refining what we currently have we
2075s feel like the structure is really strong
2077s right now yeah most definitely and I
2078s know um with with this mid-season update
2082s um we of course the biggest topic that
2084s we've been hearing a lot is around class
2085s balance uh specifically around like
2088s Spirit born right now and how it is
2089s performing very well compared to some of
2091s the the other classes and so Mr Adam
2093s Jackson I know you wanted to talk a
2095s little bit about some of the uh class
2096s balance yeah let's talk about class we
2098s got a lot to go over today so first uh
2101s just to give an overview of kind of what
2102s I'm going to talk about uh first we're
2104s going to talk a little bit about kind of
2105s the state of season 6 and kind of how we
2107s see things and how things are going and
2109s then we're going to give you a preview
2111s of some of the changes that we're going
2112s to be doing for all the classes uh
2114s normal disclaimer here you know we're
2116s not going to be covering everything that
2117s we're going to do here in the patch
2118s there going be a lot more notes than
2119s what I'm showing today but just to kind
2121s of give you an idea of what's coming for
2123s each class and kind of what you can look
2124s forward
2125s to so yeah the current state of season
2128s six so uh you know a whole lot of people
2130s are enjoying the spirit born uh I think
2132s this class has been really successful
2134s you know we've been hearing that it's a
2135s lot of fun people are really liking kind
2136s of the way that you build the way that
2138s you play and just the class in general
2140s which is really gratifying for the
2142s team uh just for some stats here uh 62%
2146s of all players have played the spirit
2147s boorn so you know when you think you
2149s know there's six classes in the game now
2151s and 62% of people are playing it you
2153s know that's that's kind of a lot of love
2155s for the class which is pretty exciting
2156s to see and to give you a a basis of
2158s comparison here um the Sorceress in
2161s season 5 was the most played class and
2164s she was at
2165s 32% so you know give you an idea that
2168s was you know Lightning Spear meta and
2170s you know this class was really really
2171s good A lot of people had fun and so you
2173s can kind of compare there of just how
2175s many people kind of logged into the
2176s expansion and enjoyed that so that's
2179s pretty exciting yeah just a few
2181s right um yeah so kind of the state of
2184s the game you know the spirit born is
2186s performing quite a bit better than other
2187s class es which we want to dig deep you
2189s know do a little bit of a deep dive into
2191s how and why and how we think about
2193s it uh largely a big culprit of this is
2196s actually due to unintended interactions
2198s that the class has with how some things
2199s scale and and other issues um but then
2202s there's also another component that
2203s there are some balance issues with the
2205s class itself and so it's pretty easy to
2207s conflate these two and be like well how
2208s much of the power is due to like you
2210s know bugs or unintended interactions and
2211s how much of it is just some things have
2213s high numbers we do think it's a bit of
2215s both but uh the unintended interactions
2217s I think think are the Lion Share of of
2219s what's going on
2221s here um but on the bright side the other
2223s classes are actually performing fairly
2225s well when compared to one another so if
2227s you look at you know Barbarian compared
2228s to Necromancer or Druid compared to
2230s sorceress they're actually pretty close
2232s and competitive when we see like pit
2234s tier clears and and other content how
2236s they're doing um which is a really good
2238s sign for
2240s us so when we're thinking of kind of
2243s what we're going to do going forward and
2244s how we balance the game there's kind of
2245s two really statements that we need to
2247s think about when it it comes to
2248s balance uh the first one that's really
2251s important is we want players to feel
2253s strong and powerful and to kind of feel
2254s like they can break the game and find
2256s these crazy builds and do awesome things
2258s with and then on the other side of the
2260s coin we also want kind of you know class
2262s balance and parity when it comes to
2263s their power level with one another right
2266s um you know we don't want a situation
2267s that exists for a really long time where
2269s you know the only answer is to play
2270s Barbarian for example compared to
2272s everything else and that's all that you
2273s kind of be pushed into
2275s playing so these two things are kind of
2278s odds with one another and we've kind of
2279s gone back and forth on our strategies
2281s here if you remember back when we
2282s launched Diablo 4 uh we really actually
2285s prioritized class parody and Harmony
2287s over you know everything else over the
2290s power fantasy of the game and what this
2293s resulted in was every time that someone
2294s found a build that was really strong and
2296s crazy we just kind of would fix the bugs
2299s or Nerf the build and we ended up kind
2300s of playing whack-a-mole every time that
2302s players found something cool and it
2304s ended up being that blizzard kind of
2306s turned into the fun police which players
2308s really didn't like we got a pretty big
2309s reaction at the end of the launch period
2311s and into season 1 when we tried to only
2313s think about class parody over kind of
2316s the power fantasy of Diablo and in
2318s season two we we kind of really turned
2320s things around in the way that we thought
2321s about the game and we really prioritized
2323s you know power fantasy and this idea
2325s that our players kind of want to break
2326s the game and be crazy uh the big shining
2329s example there was ball lightning for you
2331s sorceress Mains um where that skill you
2333s know had an unintended interaction it
2335s was really really good but players
2337s really liked it and had a lot of fun and
2339s so if you remember a long time ago we
2341s came on live stream and we talked about
2343s this and we kind of said that we were
2345s going to allow players to kind of break
2347s the game in this way until the next
2348s season right um there are some
2351s exceptions that we'll make where we'll
2352s fix things in the mid-season if it's
2353s impacting like the performance of the
2355s game or the experience of other players
2356s like if your build is causing a bunch of
2358s lag or something then we'll fix it right
2360s away I think in season 6 we had this
2362s example with the evade build with Spirit
2364s born um but overall players really like
2366s this strategy a whole lot more right um
2369s they got to enjoy this kind of uh the
2371s point of playing args and Diablo in
2374s particular of really making a powerful
2375s character and being able to to smash
2377s faces with it right yeah and the sort of
2380s philosophy here is sort of goes even
2382s Beyond classes right if you remember in
2384s season 1 we were just nerfing every
2386s dungeon that was to perform in and like
2388s any anytime like there was content that
2390s was like a little bit out of budget we'd
2392s Nerf it um so it's really about sort of
2394s establishing a trust with you the player
2396s during that season and not trying to
2398s sort of um force you to exploit the fun
2400s early and often and um it's really about
2402s sort of making sure that when you play a
2404s season you know that that season is
2406s going to work the same throughout the
2407s season and we're not going to change
2408s things Midway on you yeah I think
2411s another factor to think about too is
2412s that now that we've added a lot of
2413s progression like tempering and
2414s masterworking that there's a lot of time
2416s investment that goes into making a build
2417s even if you know something that you know
2419s might be unintended but it's really
2421s really good and crazy and you spend you
2422s know 40 plus 100 hours whatever making
2425s it and then if we kind of pull the rug
2426s out from under you uh it's worrisome to
2429s do that to players I think in the middle
2431s of a season it's all about respecting
2432s your time right yeah um so in that in
2436s that vein um we are not planning to Nerf
2439s the spirit born in the mid-season patch
2440s which I think is the thing that's on
2441s everybody's mind like is Blizzard going
2443s to do it and we've decided that we think
2445s it's best for the game to not do it in
2447s the
2448s midseason so uh in season 7 and we'll be
2452s talking about this a little more in the
2453s live stream next week we are going to be
2455s fixing all the unintended interactions
2456s that we found with born will also be
2458s making balance adjustments to bring them
2460s in line with the other classes so you
2462s can expect a lot of change there but
2464s until then you know enjoy what you've
2466s got now uh while it's there I think it's
2469s worth digging into the unintended
2471s interactions part too right because it's
2473s not necessarily like you picked one
2475s legendary Paragon node and now your
2477s build is ridiculous right it's like
2479s you're you're sort of you know for lack
2481s of a better word abusing some of the
2482s mechanics right if if we know you know
2484s viscus Shield is scaling off of Max HP
2487s players of for tons of time and effort
2488s trying to Max Masterwork their Max life
2491s and getting all the perfect tempers and
2493s item affixes um we don't want to take
2495s that away from you right that's not
2496s something that we're trying to
2498s necessarily destroy all the time
2499s commitment you put into your character
2501s by fixing these things so it's not as
2502s simple as just fix the unintended
2504s interaction right but but just
2506s reiterating it is a those unintended
2509s interactions are things that we will
2510s look at when we get to season 7 and we
2513s start off with season 7 so and obviously
2516s with mid-season update enjoy enjoy
2518s through season 6 but come season 7 and
2520s you'll see a preview of the of some of
2522s these changes with season 7 in our PTR
2524s stream next week uh you'll see some of
2526s the the the changes that we plan on yeah
2528s there's a lot coming there but you this
2529s isn't about
2531s that there's a lot coming there for
2533s everybody that'll be really exciting
2536s but but yeah so um but the caveat to all
2539s this is if something does come up that
2541s impacts other players um in regards to
2542s the game's performance or you're causing
2544s lag for the server or whatever we will
2546s be fixing those types of
2548s interactions uh as soon as possible like
2550s the evade build is our example right we
2552s will fix those right away because we
2553s want to make sure that the game is you
2554s know performant for
2556s everybody so in the midseason though we
2559s are going to be buffing all the other
2560s classes in the midseason patch but I
2562s want to cave out this a little bit with
2564s it's not going to be to the level of
2566s spirit born right now because a lot of
2568s that power is due to bugs and unintended
2571s things so we're really going to be
2572s buffing the classes uh to have more
2574s parity and harmony with each other but
2576s then also to kind of where we plan to
2578s bring the spirit board to after you know
2580s the the bugs and stuff has been fixed so
2583s you will be seeing number Buffs but you
2584s know I wouldn't expect to be at the same
2586s level as what spirit boorn is doing
2588s right now in the midseason just to be
2590s clear because of that the bugs are
2591s actually a big part of the power level
2593s yeah and we don't want to create an arms
2594s race right where it's like okay everyone
2596s gets to be pit tier 150 then the next
2598s natural ask is like okay I guess we're
2599s adding torment 5 6 78 right um so we
2602s don't want to sort of get to a place
2604s where you know you're chewing through 12
2605s different torment tiers um s really
2607s being cautious about the arms race here
2609s we actually think the rest of the
2610s classes are in a really good spot yeah
2612s and I think you can count on that going
2613s for too not even just right now but this
2615s is kind of the way that we think of
2616s things in general it's like if all the
2617s classes are kind of in this realm kind
2619s of close to each other and then one has
2621s and something unintended that brings
2622s like way up here everybody is always
2624s like well let's just bring everybody
2625s else to this but if we do that every
2627s time like you start with this difference
2628s and then you're here and then you do
2630s this and then you do this and you're
2631s exponentially going to increase the
2633s power level of the game just insanely
2635s High really fast right and that's that's
2637s not our goal right so if there's
2638s something that stands out we'll let
2639s people do it for a while but then we're
2640s going to bring it back the next season
2642s and that's kind of the way that I think
2643s you can mostly count on us doing balance
2646s and and how the choices that we make and
2648s why definitely and the same goes if
2650s there's like a underperforming class
2651s it's like 20 pit tiers behind everyone
2653s else right we have no problems with like
2655s bringing that up to where the rest of
2657s the classes are correct yeah the real
2659s goal is to get everything in in a pretty
2661s good realm of having harmony with one
2662s another and uh you know when when
2665s something's out of balanced it's okay
2666s for a season but then we're going to try
2667s to bring it back right that's kind of
2669s always our
2670s goal so yeah let's get into the the
2672s class updates for all the classes we're
2674s just going to be going through one by
2675s one and kind of giving you a preview of
2676s what to see again this is only a preview
2678s there's more than what we're going to
2679s show on screen yeah way more right this
2681s is just like a couple examples within
2684s the the uh stream itself and of again
2686s just a reminder patch notes later this
2688s week once we get everything kind of uh
2690s sorted we're abnormal time for a stream
2692s on a Tuesday normally we do it on
2694s Thursday and usually a patch notes then
2695s so I expect the patch notes later this
2697s week yeah let's get to it so starting
2700s off with Barbarian uh we got some
2702s baseline core skill Buffs for pretty
2703s much all of them right you can see here
2705s upheaval Hammer the Ancients double
2706s swing and Rend um basically you know we
2709s we always hear it that you know they
2711s have a little bit of trouble leveling
2712s the their late game is really good but
2714s just getting there can be a little bit
2715s painful so we're just going to be
2717s squeezing up those numbers a little bit
2718s more um so you'll have a better time
2720s leveling you'll also be a little bit
2721s stronger overall um but all the builds
2723s will get a little bit
2725s better and then also we have some Buffs
2727s to underperforming legendaries and
2728s uniques um here's an example with an
2730s aspect battl mad uh you can see here in
2733s the before kind of what's on live right
2734s now is it's basically just a way to give
2736s you berserking uh rewarding you for
2738s weapon swapping and now we're adding a
2740s hefty multiplier to it so now this is
2742s going to be a real offensive aspect
2743s that's going to give you you know a
2744s bunch of power you're going to get up to
2746s a 40% damage buff uh while when you're
2749s doing the weapon swapping mechanic so
2751s we've kind of finding these places where
2752s we can input damage or you know these
2754s underused legendaries or uniques and
2756s then adding a reason to make them more
2759s compelling uh next we got Druid so all
2761s of the druid's key passives are getting
2763s buffed I've given a couple of examples
2765s here but I'm pretty sure all of them the
2766s numbers went up so lupan ferocity you've
2769s got the crit damage going from 70 to
2771s 100% bonus and then the bonus damage to
2773s Injured enemies going from 140 to 200%
2776s which is pretty meaty and then the the
2778s one with nature passive uh that Buffs
2780s your companions that bonus damage is
2781s going from 60 to 80% which is a pretty
2784s big
2785s amount and then also legendary unique
2787s Buffs in the same way of the Barbarian
2790s so here this is an offensive aspect even
2791s though I'd argue it's kind of more
2792s utility but the stormchasers aspect
2794s where it makes your tornado smart where
2796s they sneak they seek enemies uh we're
2798s just adding a pretty good multiplier to
2800s that so tornado builds Rejoice you're
2801s going to get up to 50% more damage now
2804s um just from taking this aspect that you
2805s were probably taking anyways so just
2807s making you happier to take the same
2809s things uh next one the Basilisk this is
2812s the earth Dr dealing with petrify so
2815s before it was that that first time that
2817s you hit an enemy you'll petrify them and
2819s then every time you petrify them it
2820s deals a bunch of damage uh we're just
2822s making that a lot more usable so that
2824s way you can feel more comfortable taking
2826s it so now it's going to be when you hit
2827s a healthy enemy you'll petrify them and
2830s also this will work against bosses so
2832s every 5 Seconds that you hit a boss uh
2835s you'll attempt to petrify and then
2836s you'll get that bonus damage proc so
2838s basically this uh unique now will be
2840s giving you a damage proc every 5 Seconds
2842s against bosses which will be a lot
2844s better than now where it doesn't really
2845s do much to bosses at all
2849s uh next we got the Necromancer so
2850s they're getting Buffs for all their
2851s basic skills I'm showing decompose here
2854s as an example the the damage is almost
2855s being doubled uh your ESS Essence gain
2858s per second is going up by quite a bit
2860s and also now it'll scale with attack
2862s speed bonuses so now if you build attack
2864s speed or you have it decompos is going
2865s to be generating Essence for you quicker
2867s which it didn't used to before uh
2869s they're also getting some Buffs and kind
2871s of some simple functionality changes to
2873s some passives so an example here with
2875s the evulsion passive is before you would
2877s get increased crit damage to vulnerable
2879s enemies and now we're just going to
2881s remove that double requirement there of
2883s focusing on crit and vul so now you'll
2885s just get more damage against vulnerable
2886s enemies so it's just a lot more usable
2888s it's now use you you can use it uh more
2891s generally you don't have to worry about
2892s critting all the time to get the bonus
2893s so it'll just be uh more
2896s consistent and then we've got some
2897s unique Buffs here these are just number
2899s Buffs some examples we've got Mor to
2901s Crux so their chance to spawn the
2903s skeletal socum is going up and how From
2906s Below you're just getting you know more
2907s corpse explosion damage out of it so
2909s just tuning up these numbers to make
2910s them
2912s competitive uh next we've got the Rogue
2915s so similar to uh the Barbarian the Rogue
2917s is also getting Buffs to the core skills
2920s uh penetrate shot damage is going up
2922s flurry damage is going up as some
2923s examples also their key passives are
2926s getting a bit better too uh victimize
2928s the damage scaling is going up for your
2930s vulnerable damage bonus and precision is
2932s going up by a pretty hefty amount um
2934s from 15% to 20% of your crit damage
2936s bonus
2937s so those'll just be a lot more
2940s potent and next we've got the Sorceress
2942s kind of keeping on the theme of buffing
2944s key passives so this one we're actually
2946s doing a bit of a functionality change so
2948s combustion before used to be that you
2950s know you get a a big multiplier to your
2952s burning damage 60% and then after that
2955s we kind of wanted to reward you for
2956s putting different Burning uh sources on
2958s enemies and you would get a little bit
2960s of a bonus per Source um now we're go
2962s doing away with that second part so
2964s you're still getting the burning damage
2966s buff just across the board but now we're
2968s actually going to tie it to itemization
2970s so now you'll just be getting a
2971s additional multiplier based on your
2973s damage to burning enemies bonus so now
2975s you're going to be looking for that you
2976s know in your gear and your Paragon and
2978s other places so you can now just really
2979s buff up the burning damage and you don't
2981s have to worry about putting a bunch of
2982s sources on
2984s enemies uh next a similar vein Avalanche
2987s this key passive is just getting better
2989s and is going to be tuning into a damage
2990s bonus as well so before it was that your
2993s Frost skills have a chance a lucky hit
2995s chance to make your next cast of a few
2997s different skills be consume no man and
2999s be stronger and when you hit vulnerable
3001s enemies it just made the chance better
3003s and now we're just buffing up the chance
3005s Baseline going from 10 to 30% to make
3008s get that free cast and bonus damage but
3010s now the actual damage that you deal is
3012s going to be increased by your damage
3014s against vulnerable enemy stat so now if
3016s you we've added basically a scaling
3018s multiplier to this key passive so it
3019s should be doing a lot more damage over
3023s time uh next we got a aspect of piercing
3026s cold this is for you ice charge enjoyers
3029s uh this one's getting a whole lot better
3031s so before it used to be that the number
3032s of uh pierces was uh part of the random
3036s roll and then also the r made it deal
3039s your subsequent hits deal less damage
3041s with ice shards and now we flipped the
3042s script now and now the amount of enemies
3045s that's going to pierce is going to be
3046s static so you're just getting more
3047s consistent value but instead of doing
3049s less damage you're going to deal more
3050s damage per enemy hit so that actual
3053s difference of going from less to more is
3055s going to amount to a substantial
3057s increase in the amount of damage that
3059s this legendary is pumping out for ice
3060s shards makes a huge
3062s spread um last but not least for the
3064s Sorceress uh we introduced a couple of
3066s new legendary aspects in vessel of
3068s hatred um we've got them they're scaling
3071s with Char with charge bolts and
3072s incinerate and both of these aspects
3075s were dealing what we call Flat damage or
3077s was like a certain damage amount and it
3078s didn't really scale up as you scaled the
3080s skill up and we've changed that for both
3082s of these so the aspect of charge Flash
3084s and the aspect of overheating will now
3086s both scale as you get more charge bolt
3089s or more incinerate damage uh these ones
3091s will be dealing a lot more damage as
3093s well so these ones will just scale with
3094s you and be a lot better uh over time as
3096s you get
3100s stronger and next last but not least we
3102s got the spirit Bor um so we we did do
3105s some changes here we really mostly did
3107s small Buffs to skills that haven't
3108s really been being used or seen less
3110s success so we got razor WIS here uh the
3114s damage is going up a bit and also uh
3116s razor WIS used to have actually a set
3118s cool down between cast and now we remove
3120s that cool down so now you can actually
3122s cast razor Wings faster as you build
3123s attack speed like all other skills in
3125s the game uh we also did some small Buffs
3128s to withering fist uh the poison damage
3130s went up the slow went up and one of the
3132s upgrades uh will now spread to more
3134s targets when you use
3136s it and then we also got some Buffs to
3138s toxic skin which isn't really seen much
3140s play by players uh we basically just did
3142s some small Buffs to ex damage both
3144s Baseline the enhancement and and uh one
3147s of the upgrades the variant of it and
3150s these are mostly just on the skills that
3152s people aren't actually using right now
3154s our goal isn't to like make the spirit
3156s born even stronger no these are this is
3158s tuning within the builds of the
3160s definitely seeing Chad and they're like
3161s wait Spirit born Buffs and it's like
3163s these are like skills that really no one
3165s is using so we want to make sure that I
3167s mean Quil volley there you go Quil
3169s volley most definitely needs Buffs
3172s apparently no it uh but it's it's for
3175s things that we just haven't seen a lot
3176s of play Within Spirit born players I
3179s know a lot of players are looking at
3180s some of the numbers and they're also
3181s these are just like Baseline numbers on
3183s some of these skills obviously there's a
3185s lot of interactions that happen beyond
3187s that from tempering to uh the the gear
3189s that you have and everything like that
3191s that will end up obviously enhancing
3192s those even more so we're expecting to as
3196s Adam had mentioned before we're we're
3198s not expecting to see the uh other
3200s classes jump up to the same power as the
3202s spirit born because the spirit born
3204s again is using some unintended
3206s interactions right now but those will be
3208s addressed in season 7 so with these
3210s classes specifically they will get some
3212s additional Buffs so that they can stay
3213s competitive amongst each other they
3215s they're staying together as a pack but
3217s being a little bit stronger here with
3218s the mid-season yeah the idea with
3219s midseason this is probably going to be
3220s true with most mid-season updates is
3222s that we're trying to move everything a
3224s little closer together and also to set
3226s up for the next season where there will
3228s be a lot of more upheaval right so we're
3230s like prepping everything to be kind of
3231s close upal oh yeah I was like ha but you
3235s know we're getting ready for
3237s is that an is that Easter egg um cool
3241s awesome well I know we have a again
3243s adaman mentioned that this is just a
3245s very small uh a lot more than that
3248s there's a lot more than just what we
3249s showed here uh that would be the
3251s shortest patch notes ever uh but we do
3253s actually have a a patch notes coming out
3255s later this week that we'll have all the
3257s different class changes and everything
3259s uh with the mid-season update we do have
3261s a few other things that are actually
3262s also hitting uh related to uh Rune words
3266s and a thing that a lot of people have
3267s been talking about uh which is Shrine
3270s specifically so we can we can shrines
3273s Shin what's wrong with shrines what's
3275s wrong with the conduit Shrine that I
3277s don't purposely ignore yeah you mean the
3280s real curs Shrine here you go all right
3283s jumping into Rune wordss first um we are
3285s doing some tuning changes to Rune wordss
3287s uh I will tease a little bit that we do
3288s have some more impactful changes coming
3290s in season 7 so tune in next week for
3292s them but in the meantime we did do some
3293s room word Buffs to ones that aren't
3295s being used as much mostly by lower
3296s offering cost some examples here we got
3299s the Mooney Rune word uh the offering
3300s that you get is increased from 25 to 35
3304s uh the AO Rune word uh the offering is
3306s being increased a lot from 10 to 25 when
3308s hitting injured enemies and then I'm
3310s just going to butcher it I don't know
3311s how to say it but the SE word um the
3314s wolf Spirits are not always going to be
3315s unhindered so um you know we often run
3317s into issues where uh Companions and
3319s things like that have trouble getting to
3320s enemies but since you know these they're
3322s Spirits so why would other things get in
3324s the way so now they'll always be moving
3326s through enemies and Gain to their
3327s targets a lot
3328s quicker and then shrines uh you know
3331s heard some feedback that they don't
3332s really scale too well so the artillery
3335s blast wave and conduit shrines will now
3338s deal more damage and they're going to
3339s scale with you based on your level and
3342s your Paragon level so as you level up as
3344s you get stronger the shrines will be
3346s getting uh more potent with you uh we're
3349s going to kind of test it you know let us
3351s know how it goes uh see if you actually
3353s enjoy getting them and want to get them
3354s now um we do see some room maybe to to
3357s do some more things buff them further if
3359s needed but we're going to be trying this
3360s as a first step to see uh see how it
3362s goes yeah I know uh We've we've heard
3364s from a lot of people about like
3366s especially as you get to later levels
3368s and and you're you're towards like
3369s endgame in tournament 4 and a conduit
3371s Trine appears and it's like don't touch
3373s it because maybe that will make things
3376s slower which it currently typically does
3379s for a lot of players especially Spirit
3380s born players so it's uh it's cool to see
3383s updates to these shrines and of again
3385s like with feedback is really important
3387s for us to know like hey did we hit the
3389s mark do we need to do additional things
3391s or um do we need to tweak anything so
3393s let us know after you guys get a chance
3395s to check out the new adjustments to the
3397s shrine so that'll be really important
3399s for us um some other things that are
3401s coming down the line we do have some uh
3403s in-game specific events and uh items
3406s that we'll be hitting here in the coming
3410s weeks weeks is a little bit after
3412s midseason update um we do actually have
3415s uh another we bringing back the red clo
3417s horror uh which is part of the uh
3420s midwinter blight event that we had last
3422s year um and we'll actually have a Blog
3425s that details all the the uh benefits and
3427s rewards out of this it's like XP
3429s benefits of course uh that do come uh
3432s with this specifically which is really
3433s great to to have on top of uh another uh
3437s event that's coming which is Mother's
3438s blessing uh and mother's blessing will
3440s also be um we'll have that in the blog
3442s that blog is going to be hitting on
3444s Thursday I believe uh so keep an eye out
3447s um for Eternal players we also have a
3450s cool little thing U like kind of like a
3452s welcome back uh uh booster type of event
3455s for them or or or um maybe it's not an
3458s event I don't I don't know how to I
3460s don't know how to coin it but like Colin
3462s W would does that entail yeah so uh we
3464s wanted to put together just something to
3466s get you back into the action I know part
3468s of X1 ended up uh sort of marking a
3471s bunch of items as Legacy so we just
3472s wanted to give everyone um a onetime
3474s booster to come come back we're going to
3476s level you 50 will give you a build that
3478s we've made we've made three different
3479s ones per class you'll be able to use it
3481s I'm sure everyone watching probably
3483s doesn't care but we have um uh you will
3485s care about this if you haven't done this
3487s is we're going to unlock all the alars
3488s of Lilith as part of that boost so if
3490s you log in and just use it and you
3492s haven't got all your Alters your alters
3493s for free for fre easy yeah and if if
3496s you're a base game Diablo 4 uh owner
3500s you'll end up getting I believe one of
3501s those boosts and then if you're a vessel
3503s of hatred you'll end up getting two of
3504s those boosts on Eternal characters which
3506s is kind kind of cool so um it's if if
3509s you want to jump back in or anything and
3511s and you know especially after the the
3514s changes with there goes my earpiece I've
3516s been I've been I've been fumbling with
3518s it all day um and now it's gone uh but
3521s uh I know a lot of players specifically
3523s with season six jumping back in they
3525s notice as you mentioned a lot of the
3527s gear went to Legacy gear so this kind of
3529s gives them a way of being able to kind
3530s of recover some of that get back into it
3533s exactly um and then I I believe we have
3536s a a a another um free trial coming up
3539s for any new players that want to check
3541s out at the Spirit born the spirit will
3543s actually be part of the free trial and
3545s that will be coming up here uh in the
3547s coming weeks and so all this will be in
3549s a blog on Thursday which is really cool
3552s um and then of course as we mentioned at
3554s the start of the show uh we have another
3556s stream next week we'll actually have a
3557s date for the stream uh later this week
3560s for players uh so that you guys can keep
3562s an eye uh out for that but that is our
3565s patch 2.1
3567s PTR um stream and that one will be
3569s pretty beefy uh we have a lot to talk
3571s about regarding patch 2.1 and of course

3578s that it's the stream again will be a
3580s little early because of the Thanksgiving
3583s holiday so a little bit earlier than
3584s when PTR is going to start we do plan on
3587s having those notes available for players
3589s before the Thanksgiving holiday and then
3591s I would expect that PTR to start after
3593s the Thanksgiving holiday uh so when
3595s everyone is back in in uh post holiday
3598s and is able to Monitor and see how
3600s everything is going with PTR and taking
3602s the feedback so we'll have a stream next

3657s first question that we have is related
3659s to ancestral items we we get a lot of
3661s questions about ancestral items I've
3663s seen a lot of questions oh this earpiece
3664s is driv me nuts
3666s uh question number one Adam fix your
3669s earpiece um there's a plant right here
3672s which you guys can't see so I'm like
3673s having to read the the screen any
3675s updates ancestral items do you guys have
3677s any updates or news to share regarding
3679s that yeah I know we saw a lot of
3681s confusion in terms of maxing out a lot
3683s of the Codex of power um in X1 we
3685s actually add added uh roughly what we
3687s call ranks five ranks to a lot of the
3689s legendary aspects that were ancestral
3691s only um and I know that caused a lot of
3693s confusion um So currently how it works
3696s is ancestral items have a higher upper
3698s bounds on on the rank that you can
3700s achieve for that aspect and we have seen
3702s quite a bit of people struggling to max
3704s out their aspects um generally that was
3707s the goal is that we do want to grind
3708s right like we we think it's it's good
3710s that you can sort of get an aspect right
3712s away but we like that once you have that
3714s play style assembled we still want that
3716s you need to work on that being said we
3718s think it's a little bit too aggressive
3719s right now so we are going to be making
3721s some changes which we will detail next
3723s week in terms of how that actually works
3725s but just know that currently ancestral
3728s items are the sort of where you find the
3730s max rank of a lot of those aspects um
3732s but you can still find them on anything
3733s else uh that isn't ancestral uh the
3736s lower version yep um I know uh and we'll
3740s be talking more about ancestral items
3743s next week um specifically the drop rates
3746s yeah a a lot of stuff regarding that um
3749s is there uh any plans this is I'm taking
3752s a few questions from the forums and of
3754s course chat because we did post this on
3755s the forums beforehand um urza from The
3757s Forum says can we get boss materials to
3760s stack um like runes or maybe even higher
3763s are there any plans for something like
3765s that yeah we are looking into it there's
3767s things on the our side in terms of like
3770s storage and duping that we're a little
3771s bit worried about but we're looking at
3773s making a change um some sometime in the
3776s the longer future um question from a
3779s couple people like AR Archangel 890 and
3783s D I'm not going to Dragon drag some
3787s dragonage uh says uh any chances that
3790s you guys will potentially change like XP
3793s gain maybe the the growth to Paragon 300
3796s is there um any plans on maybe making
3798s adjustments or tuning specifically on
3800s that end um currently not at the moment
3803s I think it's something we're monitoring
3805s though in terms of the Fe back we we do
3807s like that you can get just about
3808s everything within the first 200 paragon
3811s levels and everything from there has a
3812s pretty steep diminishing return in terms
3814s of power so what we don't want to say to
3817s you all is like you need to grind 200
3818s hours to unlock your build and do all
3821s the things that are sort of play style
3823s defining which we Define as like the the
3824s sort of glyphs and the legendary nodes
3827s um so we've seen actually a lot of
3828s positive feedback that like you can get
3829s your build online and that you still
3831s have something to work towards the
3832s sooner we sort of short circuit that
3835s Paragon grind the more we sort of get
3837s back to that preexpansion one state
3839s where you just don't get anything from
3840s killing monsters because you're Paragon
3842s 300 in the first two weekends so
3844s currently um you know we're looking at
3846s monitoring it and we're super open to
3848s the feedback but so far we've seen a
3849s good amount of positivity around it I
3851s think it's kind of in line with what
3851s you're talking about with the legendary
3853s Powers right how like those last five
3854s ranks are on ancestor items only and so
3856s our idea is like we want you to get your
3859s build online and play the way you want
3862s within a pretty you know pretty quickly
3863s or whatever but then you have something
3865s to work towards like incrementally to
3867s become stronger and stronger and that
3868s we're okay with taking a long time
3870s totally as long as it's not like cutting
3872s you off from the build at all yeah it's
3874s about getting you into the fun and like
3876s making sure that your build is is
3877s blasting but you have things to sort of
3879s use that build to blast for right that
3881s makes sense yeah and I think there's
3883s like the the other thing that people are
3885s are probably forgetting about is like we
3886s do have these events coming up and stuff
3888s which also benefit X and everything like
3891s that which will be a good opportunity
3892s for players to like be able to you know
3894s if they they really want because there
3897s as we've seen there are there is a
3898s reward to for getting to paron 300 and
3901s stuff so um if it allows players that
3905s opportunity to kind of use those events
3906s to be able to boost that and we have
3908s obviously red CL cor stuff coming up
3910s here and of course we have Mother's
3911s blessing so there's opportunities to
3913s help with some of that XP um based off
3916s of those events specifically so um there
3919s is a question regarding uh like
3922s materials again uh you know can we
3925s expect any addition Buffs for drop rates
3927s on Rawhide iron forgotten Souls anything
3929s like that yeah so actually uh it is in
3932s the midseason but we did buff Legion
3933s Events I know that was a a personal
3935s favorite of a lot of folks um for the
3937s midseason um for season 7 we're taking a
3940s look at um just sort of buffing the
3942s various sources and also really drilling
3944s down on like what are the bottlenecks
3946s players are having and iterating towards
3947s that um there's no major changes coming
3949s in season 7 like we're not going to
3951s quadruple the amount of materials across
3953s the game um but it is something again in
3955s the spirit of like tightening the things
3956s that we have um we are actively looking
3959s at a lot of the material inflows and
3960s outflows um and we want to give you the
3962s tools to sort of um get the material
3965s materials that you're looking for we're
3967s sort of are are what we're trying to do
3969s is ensure that there are things that you
3971s still care about right and you still
3972s want to grind it's still in that Spirit
3974s of like um it's walking that fine line
3976s of there are things to work towards um
3978s without it feeling super tedious so
3980s that's what we're trying to tighten and
3981s work
3982s towards um there is a question regarding
3986s um do you this from uh remster ma says
3990s uh do you have any plans on start
3992s bringing in new midseason mechanics um I
3995s think for that more so I would expect
3998s like larger mechanics content changes
4000s and stuff like that to happen around uh
4003s New Seasons um as opposed to a
4006s mid-season update I think we look at
4008s taking mid-season updates making tweaks
4010s to uh you know balance items or uh
4014s anything that we're hearing feedback
4015s from I said that we can spend most of
4017s our you know concentration and focus on
4019s really putting in some of these newor
4020s type of content pieces around uh new
4024s season specifically yeah I think you
4026s think going forward is midseason is a
4028s time to just like tweak and iterate and
4030s and you know use rework existing things
4033s but we're we're really putting all of
4035s our books on like bigger upheavals you
4037s know larger changes lots of new stuff
4039s into the beginning of the season so next
4040s week will be pretty exciting we got a
4042s lot of new stuff coming in um but that's
4044s where we're kind of targeting that to
4045s make that kind of a big moment and
4046s exciting time to to come back and play
4049s um there is a question from casual
4051s Dragon regarding unders City drops and
4054s asking is there any plans to potentially
4056s fix those make those better uh
4058s specifically on that end yeah so um this
4061s sort of leads into there are some
4063s ancestral drop rate changes that we want
4065s to talk about next week but in general
4067s what that'll mean is all the loot across
4068s the game will generally get better um so
4071s it is something that we're working on
4072s I'm about to take this earpiece and
4075s throw it across the room uh because it
4077s just keeps popping out and it's driving
4079s me insane um that's a question from Pez
4082s radar um the uh any uh question from
4088s fin
4089s Phar says Diablo any at Diablo any
4093s stability fixes coming been seeing a
4095s whole lot more crashes since the last
4096s couple patches uh I will say that um
4099s we've been mon we can actually see
4100s whenever a play Go series uh we can
4104s actually see whenever or a player
4106s actually crashes we we know it we get
4108s logs from it on our end um I know that
4111s the engineering team here has been doing
4113s a ton of work on on working to get um
4117s the the game more stable you've probably
4119s seen a bunch of different small ciment
4121s patches go out uh we actually just uh
4123s re-enabled like dlss in a client patch
4126s that went out yesterday um there are uh
4128s additional changes and and more uh
4130s reviewing that's being done from our
4132s side to ensure that you know the game is
4134s running very stable so expect to see see
4136s more of that uh as we get through this
4138s season and of course into next season
4140s cuz our goal is to make sure you know
4142s Baseline everyone can jump in without
4143s any of these types of issues and
4145s everything and and shout out to our
4146s engineering team I know they've been
4147s working uh long and hard on on figuring
4151s all this stuff out uh they they've been
4153s uh that's like their top priority right
4156s now they actually behind the scenes we
4157s even collaborate with them a lot on um
4159s doing various things related to game
4161s performance under the hood like making
4163s skills cleaner making interactions
4165s cleaner like constantly doing stuff to
4167s make the game run smoother in the
4168s background pretty much every patch like
4170s we're fixing multiple things so it's
4172s definitely something that we're we're
4174s always working on actively um why so
4176s blue panda bear any chance on tempering
4178s skulls can be used more than once
4180s investing time to finally get a rare
4181s drop uh and it bricks kind of doesn't
4183s feel too great um any thoughts on
4188s tempering SCS how that's been going yeah
4190s I think um it's definitely something we
4192s hear a lot of feedback on and uh it's
4194s something that you know we were're sort
4196s of taking an incremental approach right
4198s like with the the X1 or the expansion
4200s one changes we made it so that a lot of
4202s the recipes are three um we also added
4204s of course the scroll of of tempering or
4206s restoration uh in expansion one to see
4209s how that sort of changes things um so
4211s we're just really taking a measured
4212s approach um if we see still there's a
4214s lot of feedback that it just still isn't
4216s hitting that Mark we're absolutely open
4218s to changing things like potentially
4219s letting it uh be used more than once and
4222s uh we're just sort of monitoring at this
4224s point uh um we are getting questions
4227s about the
4229s Armory stay tuned TM soon TM uh we'll
4235s we'll we'll have information on that as
4236s you guys know that that has been in
4238s development something that we've already
4239s confirmed about I we'll be talking more
4241s about it here soon TM uh so
4246s uh your eyes peel is that the is that
4249s the term keep your eyes
4251s peeled I don't know I there's a saying
4254s that you know stay I don't know uh last
4257s question here that we have before we we
4259s uh head off is uh H's transition says
4262s will dance and knives get Buffs and any
4265s changes to be more uh compatible with
4267s collecting loot like opening doors Etc
4269s you know when you're when you're going
4271s you're spinning to win with your knives
4273s and stuff is there any way of or any
4275s plans of potentially having them
4277s seamlessly move around uh around a
4280s dungeon or something like that from that
4283s nothing on my radar right now but that's
4286s a good note to take it's a good note to
4287s take it's a good to note to take Rogues
4289s want to spin a win and never you have to
4293s do all this setup and snapshot and then
4295s you have to like open the door so we do
4296s know that it's a thing yeah so we'll see
