I love Fall Guys - lets get that out of the way first. However, i have always felt like there were a LOT of missed opportunities to make it even more game show like and ALSO to make it much more fun to while waiting (for example when you are one of the first players to finish a round, in between rounds etc).
Let us take a look at some of the ideas:
Show 1., 2. and 3. place winners for each round.
Why not show who has won each round/level? That would make it infinitely more fun to try and rush for the first spot (and second and third). Also make it possible to see the nationality for these players. This is actually a big problem - right now we have absolutely NO relation to our opponents in each round. We know nothing about them - just the possibility to see their nationality would be a big deal.This would also has the HUGELY added benefit of actually getting to show our name tags much much more often. Lets be honest, right now the name tags are kinda useless - they are only visible when a player gets the crown at the end.
Use the cameras and screens more
Right now there are screens and cameras in many of the levels but they are not used at all. Why not make the screens bigger and actually show footage of the player in the front?
Easier to switch between the players to watch when finished with a round
Overall a flaw with Fall Guys is that it is really boring to wait if you finish first in a round (for example in See Saw, Big fans etc.). Right now it is pretty hard to switch between players. Why not include an overview of all players in the side when you are done with a level. From the overview you can watch stats of players (how many games won etc.), their nationality, and for example in Hoopsie legens it is easier to see how many rings each player has.
A live news feed of who gets eliminated and a way to chat with all players
This also an idea to make it less boring to wait when finished with a level/round. Why not create a news feed so one can see when a player is eliminated in Slime Climb, Roll out etc.
And maybe a lobby for players to chat with each other.
EDIT:I got a new idea. This is a small one, but I still think it would be able to do quite a postive impact.
Show a small icon in the corner when someone is spectating your bean. I am pretty sure I would get even more pumped (And be a lot prouder when I played well) if I knew someone was watching my play. And if I knew someone was watching I would also try to make my play even more funny to watch: like making more fun movements etc.
AND maybe the spectating players would be able to reward fun or creative play with an award (kind of like Reddit works). Ok now I am brainstorming here on this last part, but seriously, there is a lot to do. Small changes that would do A LOT for the overall gameplay. It makes the game more fun when spectating, it makes it more fun to play more fun and creative, and it helps on making it easier to connect with the other opponents in your round.
EDIT EDIT:
I just realised a way that the above idea could work even better with the Reddit like awards. When you spectate a player you can award them one of four different reactions/awards/emojis. For example: A "Well played" reaction, a "That was mean" reaction, a "that was lucky!" reaction, or a "That was close!" reaction.
When the round is over, it will say: "You were given 2 Well Played reactions". In this way it never interferes with the gameplay doing the round, but just makes it even more fun and easier to reward and in a basic way communicate with each other.
