0s What's up Fortnite fam, Vivid here!
2s And this week as we head into grand finals,
5s we're going to bust out our microscopes
7s and take a look at the anatomy of an FNCS champion.
11s The first topic we have on the operating table, is being contested.
15s It's no secret that whether or not a team is
17s contested has a huge impact on the teams performance.
21s Consider this for a second.
22s Not a single FNCS champion in NA or EU
25s has ever been contested in more than half of their games.
29s In chapter three Season two Merstach & Malibuca set the record
33s for the best finish by a contested team when they placed fourth overall.
37s Throughout the three weekly finals this season, we've seen time and again
41s the value of being uncontested at your drop spot.
45s In the 108 games played in weeks 1 to 3, across the six
48s regions, only 31% were won by contested teams.
53s The proof is in the pudding.
55s If you want to behold the axe of champions,
57s it's probably best to find a spot on the map
59s where you can safely loot without going toe to toe with another duo.
63s And if you can't, we'd suggest sticking close by to your teammates just in case.
68s Another vital component of past FNCS
70s champs is their ability to consistently navigate their way into the late
74s game to make sure that they can secure those placement points.
76s One of the most important aspects when evaluating a team's potential
80s is their ability to perform consistently in games and get those top placements.
84s However, doing it just once isn't enough.
86s If you want to be crowned FNCS champs, as each of the most recent FNCS
90s champions have averaged
91s at least two games where they placed top five during weekly stages.
96s Their tenacity and consistent results under pressure are clearly key
99s ingredients for success.
101s Teams this season have set the bar high as an average of 16 teams across the EU
105s and NA met this consistency criteria, including Vadeal and MrSavage.
110s And Eomzo and Rise,
112s setting up for what promises to be an exciting grand finals weekend.
116s But the lifeblood of an FNCS champion,
119s The very heartbeat, is the eliminations.
123s Teams hoping to be crowned FNCS champion have to be able to frag.
126s Each of our three most recent FNCS champs were able to do just that
130s as they all had at least one week with more than 20 eliminations.
134s We've seen 27 different teams, an average of roughly four per week across
138s both EU and North America, able to actually hit this benchmark, proving
142s that the best players will always push for the most important elims.
145s Acorn & Cold took it even further
148s as the only duo in either region to eclipse 30 eliminations.
152s As we head in the Grand Finals, I'm
153s looking forward to seeing even more pop up performances from our major two duos.
157s We'll have to wait to find out.
159s But if there's one thing for certain as we head into Chapter four, Season
162s two grand finals is that we should all brace
165s for chaos.
