The sample is designed so that it is representative of our players. So not fully random. In terms of today's survey is is a Fortnite Battle Royale focused survey. However, we do have a Save the World survey in the design stages at the moment, which will hopefully be going out soon.

Apart from verification emails I don't seem to get any emails from Epic. (I didn't get a season summary.)

I must have turned these off at some point when I was signing up, but now I'd be interested in completing surveys, and getting season summaries. Is there any way to turn email communication back on?

I couldn't see anything in my account settings.

Good question. At the moment the best way to opt-in to getting emails from us is to:

  1. Go to www.fortnite.com
  2. Login with your Epic Account (top right of the screen)
  3. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click on the yellow "SIGN UP FOR FORTNITE NEWS" button near the bottom left of the screen (https://imgur.com/a/KrPAhOi)

I only have 1 question... where is my survey? 😀

In a shocking coincidence we are sending a survey today. Perhaps today is your day!

Hey folks!

I’m Ben, the User Experience Lead at Epic Games. My team helps to research the experience y’all are having when playing our games. The research takes many forms, but there are two methods I would like to talk about today specifically:

Surveys

We regularly send out surveys and we know that folks here are getting them because we see the posts here saying that they are fake and ways for people to steal your data! It is great that you are being cautious, keep that up. But, also keep an eye out for official communications from Epic, that is us and we want to hear from you.

We are also aware that our surveys are sometimes very long. That is because we really want to know what you think and we want honest answers. To be clear, we want the brutal truth. We also ask about a wide range of topics (often across multiple different surveys), some of which may be weird or not seem relevant, but in all cases your feedback is incredibly ...

Thank you for the clarification!

I was going to make a thread for this small request but it seems appropriate to mention it here, would it be possible for reactive skins like Deadfire or the ghost portal that require kills/damage to not reset upon respawn in modes like disco and playground? As someone who plays those modes a lot, it can be mildly frustrating. I don't mind having to get 5 kills or 1000 damage in one life to turn them on, that adds a fun level of challenge, but having them reset when I get hit out of nowhere with a stray grenade ain't fun, haha.

I'll poke our engineers about it to see why it's working that way.

Question: Will the Muertos skins/accessories use the same system as their lights are also "reactive"?

Reactive is a broad term to describe that an item may do something within a match. This could be to progress through visual stages like Deadfire, change FX and shape like Rainbow Smash or Thunder Crash pickaxes, or make a noise when you get an elimination like the Clockworks back bling. The muertos items do their own thing, which is written in the description for the item (glow in the dark).

Here's how Deadfire's reactive component works:
-Stage 1 (Default look): Start of match
-Stage 2 (Clothing and hair color change): Occurs when you deal 400 damage to opponents/Cube Monsters OR when 40 players remain in the match (whichever comes first).
-Stage 3 (Green flames): Occurs when you deal 1,000 damage to opponents/Cube Monsters OR when 10 players remain in the match (whichever comes first).

These same rules & thresholds apply to the Pickaxe and Back Bling as well.

Basically, everyone can transform to the final stage of these items by surviving in the match (regardless of your playstyle), however you can transform quicker by engaging with cube monsters or other players earlier in the match.

I hope so, otherwise there's a bug...

Joking aside, these are banners we added for anyone to support their favorite Fall Skirmish Club https://www.epicgames.com/fortnite/en-US/news/fall-skirmish-details
