Your question was do you need them, my answer is I'd want more (thus yes I do need them).
I don't need a million dollars but I'd want a million dollars so I'd say no you don't "need" them you technically don't need any but they are a nice convenience.
You see some of these I just have on my characters since you get multiple in abundance (black lion salvage kit and birthday boosters), also I find it weird that you have all this stuff but no infinite gathering tools. But I get it they are really useful to have and it's not like I wouldn't fill mine if I had more but as I said before 25 feels excessive and your list kind of is excessive imho. Also the fact you have Permanent Bank makes the amount of shared slots you need irrelevant since you have bank access on all characters from anywhere .

This is the conclusion Iv come to thus far, and I believe this will probably be the route I take. Especially since I want to experience the story in a somewhat coherent way. I just wanted to hear some different opinions, if there will be any anyways.
You can always buy the $50 3 expansion pack (Saving $10) then wait on getting living world bundles until you can afford it. To note, gems and these go on sale occasionally throughout the year so you can potentially grab them cheaper. You can then hit Cantha out of the gate with everyone else if you want as well.
You will likely have a pretty long time until the living world, yet you will technically be missing some story steps in-between expansions if you are trying to advance in order and progress decently fast. In that case, go with what people above have said.
But can we get non ambiguous reply if this will for sure be applied to older instances? It seems the question about this in original thread was ignored as well.
I don't think "not definite" is the same as "ambiguous." :)
I know people always want a final "Yes" or "No," but our priority is End of Dragons right now, so we haven't fully researched the difficulty of solving all the edge cases for all older instances since the launch of the game.
That research would determine whether or not it's feasible to apply to past content, and only then could we make a decision.

Just reposting this thing I shared a while ago re EoD Instance Boundaries:
TL;DR we will be using the form of boundry that teleports you back, rather than kicks you.
With the legendary armory updates, you now can use your legendaries on all of your characters. Another words, if you have 1 legendary sword in your armory you can use up to 1 legendary sword on every template of every character. Same for other types like armor/trinkets/runes/sigils. Ie to have full sigils on every character you would need 4 legendary sigils, 8 if you count 4 for underwater. Any bound legendaries on your account should be moved into your armory as you get onto your characters, and shows in your equipment menu with the potential gear to equip with the legendary armory icon in the corner.
You also get free transmuting of legendary items now as well.

In the options menu, you can also set the Content Guide to Disable Personal Story, and it will point you to nearby events and map completion objectives. If you don't want events either, there's an option for that too. I am constantly switching between these three settings depending on what I'm trying to do.

That's cool that he's got the luxury of taking time off of work. Some of us would like to do the same. Also some of us need to know way in advance in order to take that time off but hey grouch has it already scheduled off so that's all that matters.
To clarify, I was trying to say that I've taken time off of work for game releases in the past - like I did for Guild Wars 2's launch back in 2012. I'm not taking time off for End of Dragons launch. :)
