@thewaryouknow @MichaelNeiberg @BurdenOfCommand @eurogamer @freejsf @gamingthepast @HistoryGame_V @HOI_Game @sstschulz @Tasten_hauer @TtDoTGame A good and indepth reply! Nazis make almost the perfect villains and as wars go the european theater of ww2 for the allies is about as clean and righteous as any war could get. Which of course still leaves some pretty grey areas... Dresden would argue with this for example... http://pbs.twimg.com/media/EgrC2PCX0AAW28k.png
@thewaryouknow @MichaelNeiberg @BurdenOfCommand @eurogamer @freejsf @gamingthepast @HistoryGame_V @HOI_Game @sstschulz @Tasten_hauer @TtDoTGame My personal views on history teaching is that the overfocusing on nazi germany doesnt leave a lot of room and paints a very black and white picture only. Most people never learn about things like the bengal famine or the various stuff going on in the pacific outside of the nukes
@BurdenOfCommand @thewaryouknow @MichaelNeiberg @eurogamer @freejsf @gamingthepast @HistoryGame_V @HOI_Game @sstschulz @Tasten_hauer @TtDoTGame about 3M people died in '43 in india. Its a pretty complex topic that ties into british imperialism/Quit India movement, policies as well as natural disasters. Wikipedia has a pretty indepth article about it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bengal_famine_of_1943
@BurdenOfCommand @thewaryouknow @MichaelNeiberg @eurogamer @freejsf @gamingthepast @HistoryGame_V @HOI_Game @sstschulz @Tasten_hauer @TtDoTGame i sadly have to admit that i could not get through that book :D I did delegate reading it to a content designer with a higher threshold for dry numbers though :P
