Just a note from me, helping facilitate the answers with the guys: It's easier if you only ask one question per post. Multiple question posts are hard to tackle quickly!

FOV Slider For Console Soon?

"We know FOV slider is a big ask from a lot of our console players. We've started working on it, but as changing FOV on console can have a large impact on performance, we're evaluating what extra work we need to do and when we release it. Note, it's a top priority for the team." - Graeme

"Faction War will return in Season 2 with some improvements based on the feedback we've received from you all these past few weeks. We're exploring additional modes with large squad sizes for the future as well." - JC

Can we have Faction War as a permenant mode?

"We like the idea of having it remain permanently and we are considering it. But, we need to balance the number of modes available at a given time to properly manage the server population. If we made it permanent right now, we'd need to remove something else, like Solo Crown Rush for example." - Thomas

Alright, I hate having to post that question but here it is :

It's no secret that the player/viewer count is not meeting your expectations and I'm pretty sure having such a small playerbase is not sustainable for a game as a service in the long term.

What are your interpretations on why the playerbase is very low right now, and what is your strategy to bring in new players, and keep them from playing the game.

As a 15+ years player of FPS, this game is just amazing mechanically and gunplay wise, but I'm not sure newcomers have that much experience and are willing to learn this in a BR format, which is very punitive for them because of the high skill gap and quite long lobby wait times. Apex and Fortnite are not that punitive since half the game is spent looting and gearing up, which probably feels more like a survival and keeps beginners in the game, just because of that survival aspect.

PS: I dont feel safe asking questions to Bane himself (cf the mask) :D

"We feel that the game can be too hard to pick up and punishing for new players, and we also know the gameplay is very different from what people are used to and takes time to adapt to it. This creates friction for new players coming in but as we've always said we are committed to improving the game progressively for all our players and want to ensure they all feel at home in Hyper Scape." - JC

It’s hard to ignore that Unreal Tournament and Quake 3: Arena influenced the game design a lot. High velocity and vertical dynamic make this game unique. In this regard, I have the question:

Don’t you guys think that we need a mode in which players will have more than one life? A player respawns and gets back to action multiple (limited or not) times just like in UT and Q3. This will enrich the early stages of each match and will make finales truly spectacular. While it's true that Arena Shooter genre is as extinct as dinosaurs, do you think it's possible to see the next step of evolution of these ideas in Hyper Scape. I mean, HS is not a common Battle Royale. How do you plan to skew this impression even more for us?

"Yes absolutely agreed we need and want a mode with more than one life. In fact we're already working on this (not in S2)." - Thomas

Love the game , surprisingly this new patch giving us APAC people good lobbies.

I wanted to ask few questions !
1. Can we have actual ping/loss information while playing ?

  1. Is there any chance we get zone disappear mechanism based on player count instead of time in later stage , late night games become witch hunt where we have to hunt 1 guys/1 squad in almost 30% of whole map.

  2. Is it possible to get rid of kill confirmed skull indicator after killing an enemy , it almost blocks off the center of the screen (crosshair area) , it was/is super annoying while playing faction war/squad games

Thanks in advance

"Yes we are looking into adding Ping information in the game, we agree this is important feedback for our players to have while they play. Also we're happy to say the skull indicator will be moved down out of the crosshair area in Season 2." - Thomas

Personally I think a fully leveled Protocol should be able to 1 shot headshot from at LEAST 200 meters (I would recommend ~225-250 meter). 150 meters doesn't feel like that far of a distance at all in Hyper Scape

"Damage falloff has just arrived in the game and is going to be adjusted for this weapon and introduced for other weapons in Season 2. We agree 150m is a bit short for the Protocol." - Thomas

"We just nerfed the Hexfire in yesterday's patch and it takes a little bit of time to measure the impact of that change. Be assured we'll adjust further if necessary. We believe more in doing these things via several incremental changes than single big changes." - Thomas

Filling lobbies is a big problem right now, mainly because of the what I would say failed launch. You guys didn't advertise nearly enough IMO. The game is hard to pick up for casual players because of the TTK, which is also a big reason why the Hexfire and weapons with a high headshot multiplier have been very popular over others and the more popular a gun is the more broken it is to newer players because that's all they're dying to. I personally have no problem with it because I'm used to it but other people may not be willing to give it a second chance, or even try it in the first place because of what they may have heard about the game. What are your plans to 'revive' the game or to bring in new players in general?

"We're constantly keeping an eye on player population, matchmaking times, and making adjustments where we can to improve lobby sizes. For example, we're seeing good results today with some server changes we made yesterday. Long term we are committed to improving the player population, matchmaking speed and lobby sizes." - Graeme

Why is the maxed fused heal so much more powerfull than the rest of the lower fusions? I personally think it is one of (if not the) most powerfull hack in the game even without the double amount of heal you get once fully fused. I know it is possible to destroy the heal, but most people are by now able to put the heal behind some kind of cover to make sure it is hard or near impossible to destroy it making it very hard to win a 1v1.

"We are constantly monitoring the balance of the Hacks in the game, and will take action if we see that the Heal is becoming too dominant and efficient. We know it's very powerful and are keeping a close eye on it." - Thomas

Hey dev team! Loving the update so far, but I've got some questions for ya!

  1. Are there any plans to customize HUD elements? I find that the skull that appears after each elimination obscures vision quite a bit when there are multiple enemies, also the distance indicator to safety when a sector is closing also makes it difficult to see enemies that are waiting up ahead (currently, it's only transparent if you ADS, but most of the time there's no reason to ADS, especially if you can't see that someone's there in the first place).
  2. Are there any plans to add custom binds to controller? I'm a KBM player myself, but this is a common piece of feedback I get from viewers, and I agree that they're at quite a disadvantage as on KBM, I'm able to customize pretty much all of my binds. I know there are custom controller presets, but fully customizable binds would help them very much (also, apparently none of them have a bind for instant melee, which is CRUCIAL now that there's a Lethal Melee event).
  3. Any plans to at least temporarily remove some servers in NA? As I'm sure you've heard many times over, the playerbase is quite small here and full lobbies are rare. I think it would be beneficial to maybe just have one big central NA server until crossplay is added.
  4. Have you considered adding visual elements to the Lethal Melee event? I find that with everything going on, it's very easy to miss that Lethal Melee is active. It would be cool if melee weapons had a glowing effect that only appears during Lethal Melee, plus I think it would be a great selling point in the shop (imagine different melee weapon effects like a flaming/lightning sword, lightsaber, etc.).
  5. Are there any plans to improve weapon skins sold in the shop? The character skins are nice, but I feel like the weapon skins always look brighter and more vibrant in the picture/thumbnail than the actual model itself. I'd LOVE to see weapon skins look brighter and more colorful in game.
  6. Do you think we'll ever see a night version of Neo Arcadia, or maybe a new map altogether? I've always thought that the map would look AMAZING at night with colorful neon lights everywhere like in the cinematic trailer.

this

Why is there currently no way of watching death cams after the game is over? I can see how it might be a problem in squads, as you dont want the death cam to stop you from helping your teammates, but haveing a summary at the end with all death cams. In solos, you could just watch it when you are dead.
