Now I know that we've barely touched upon the lore of this game and that it's very similar to Ready Player One, but as someone who's really interested in all of this stuff, I've already found some unsettling details just by looking at the character backgrounds of some of the skins in the open beta.
For those who don't know, the Hyper Scape was designed by a company called Prisma Dimensions. In the game's cinematic trailer, we can see a user, Nahari, discussing 'rumours of people getting hurt' and 'users disappearing from the real world'. Based on this information, we can already tell that there's some pretty shady stuff going on in the Hyper Scape, but what's not explained is that some of this stuff is directly tied to Prisma themselves.
Going back to the character backgrounds that I mentioned, we can see that every user's source of income, known associates, family members and most recent searches are all recorded by Prisma. More specific details like hobbies are also included. Lookng at this, it's safe to say that Prisma is actually spying on all of their users. It's also clear that Nahari, in particular, is a user that is of high interest to them. Described as an investigator and conspiracy theorist, Prisma explains that Nahari is still considered as 'low-risk' as she hasn't yet 'stumbled across any significant information'. Now idk about you but that sounds really ominous to me. Prisma also explains that they're aware of the locations Nahari has visited in the past, along with a friend of hers who sources inside information as a Prisma employee herself.
In other words, Prisma Dimensions is aware of everything inside and outside of the Hyper Scape and that's what interests me. Just curious to find out how Ubi handles the lore in the future and whether or not it will impact the game itself like Apex.
EDIT: Thank you to whoever rewarded this post. I'll be honest, this is the first time it's happened to me so I'm not too sure what it means but I appreciate it very much :)
