Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback /u/RLutz. I’ve read over this and while most of these are things we know about and are working to address, or they’re on our roadmap, seeing the major pain points summarized like this from someone who’s spent the time is helpful. I personally agree with literally all of this as well.

Some things will come sooner. Like a way to get to empowered on alts faster. Some things will come a touch later like Set item changes. This has prompted me to go ahead and mock up a “generic” unique reward icon to give to my artists as that’s been in our backlog too long haha.

If either of the unique or exalted items have a faction requirement, the resulting legendary item will also have that same faction requirement.

You can't put items with any conflicting requirements in the eternity cache at the same time.

We don’t have collections as we don’t offer a credit service to incur debt with; that would be quite scary in a video game! All of those systems are handled through Steam. I’m not sure if they offer credit services, but if so, we don’t leverage them.

LE-51 is a generic error code, it means it’s not a specially handled error - in other words, a more uncommon error. I’d recommend checking your player.log files to see what error it’s recording in the unity crash reports. I’ve included information below on how to find your log files.

If your friend is playing fine very close to you, and not getting disconnected, than it doesn’t really make sense for it to be issues at our services to be causing the disconnects. They would be connecting to the same services, and as funny as it might be, our services don’t have an If($username == 'DeadEmperor') {disconnectService();} line. If it was our services it would be happening to your friend as well - so I would logically conclude that it must be something specific with your connection. Unfortunately I’m not much of a network engineer, but I’d be looking for lost packets to see where in routing an error may be occurring - I know a common program for this is WinMTR (though i...

Lost Connection Error: We are aware some regions are experiencing routing issues, particularly in the EU, and some sanctioned nations such as Egypt. Unfortunately there’s not much we can do when it comes to the ISP, and if they ban outside servers, or routing services such as Google bans them. If your service experience changes with a VPN, that indicates that it’s not our services, but rather the routing between you and our services. Reverting this change was extremely low risk, however as a general rule we don’t want to deploy on Fridays in case something goes wrong. While there is events where we may need to stay late, we don’t want to put employees through that if we can avoid it. We’re of course not alone in this, so not deploying on Fridays is a common thing for many companies. We will continue to have weekly patches including more bug-fixes,

Please try force closing steam (through task manager if on windows) then start steam back up. Sometimes steam stops responding to Auth requests (we’re investigating why).

To clarify our intentions and statements:

As the survey was sparked by the feedback to our statement that we wouldn’t change the warlock’s ward generation mid cycle, in agreeance with the survey will not be making changes which impact moment to moment gameplay or build power, which can suddenly cause a build to not be able to clear a certain difficulty it was able to previously.

As per the survey, we will make bug-fixes which impact moment to moment gameplay, or build power, if those bugs are resulting in the build highly overperforming.

System changes and bug-fixes, such as to Item Factions, Vendor Interactions, or other systems, which are unrelated to a build’s performance, and would not cause a build to suddenly be unable to complete a difficulty level it was previously able to is unrelated to prior conversations. These changes are something we will be making judgment calls on as they arise.

A change/fix being set forth prior to a patch release is unrelated to this distinction I would feel - It may or may not be a bug. As long as there isn’t an underlying bug, purely changing balance would be a change, as under this assumption, the numbers had met the intention at the time.

Hello Travelers,

In today’s Hotfix, we are reverting the change to the cost of Despair Glyph Prophecies.

With this, we wanted to talk a bit about why this change made it into the last patch, similar changes, and a bit more about our specific reasoning behind them.

This change (favor cost for despair glyphs) didn’t have anything to do with Merchant’s Guild (MG) - at least, we weren’t aware of a significant issue being caused by MG players swapping to ‘abuse’ this. We believe MG already has a very good pathway to Despair Glyphs with Vault of Uncertain Fates, so wouldn’t have been benefiting from this prophecy by swapping.

I think where we will fundamentally diverge as years continue is that we’re aiming for a middle ground of complexity and depth and want to provide more to sink your teeth into if you want to play for thousands of hours. We’re not catering to the lowest common denominator of casual gamer as we don’t need to capture the same amount of resources, nor market. We’re making LE for gamers/ARPGers, not every casual gamer that exists.

Cool to see us heavily influencing the biggest players in the space. It will create better games for all of us.
