Weird to say that the Scorpion aspect isn't compelling for players. That's one of the coolest things about Skarner. There are too many bipedal human-like characters in League.
Video doesn't work well without the accompanying blog (which has some concept art of VGU Skarner). He's still very much a scorpion, not humanoid. We're working to get that blog posted as soon as we can now. In retrospect what we should have said instead in the video was that it was the current execution on scorpion that isn't compelling, not that scorpion couldn't be a compelling core for a champion.
Hey Meddler really enjoying these more frequent videos, is this going to be a monthly thing from now on and does that mean no more LoL Pls vids?
They'll be a fairly regular thing, though not on an exact fixed schedule since we'd rather do one a little earlier or a little later depending on what we've got to say. At a guess, that probably means something like every 4-6 weeks or so, but that's a rough approximation, not a hard rule
And yeah, current thinking is these replace LoL Pls, given there's a lot of overlap otherwise and LoL Pls has some limitations to it we're looking to move away from (overly focused on good news only, slower production/release times)
Nip slip
You know what, I like this version better.
Sure, nip slip.
BLUE ESSENCE EMPORIUM (Honestly though, what was wrong with it in the first place?)
Short version - a lot of stuff had to be manually implemented every time we ran it. Took a lot of time, was error prone (given a lot of data entry to get wrong) etc. Needed to be rebuilt in a better manner
Given their current game direction, if Skarner becomes a crystal dude with a six pack I am going to be so unbelievably salty. Captain Flowers please do some undercover work to subvert my expectations here.
Don't worry on that front at least, we're very much sticking with a creature scorpion, not going human with scorpion elements
"now that yuumi is out of the way"
Yeah that worked like a charm
Yeah, not the ideal choice of phrasing in retrospect. What I meant to convey was that "now that Yuumi's not taking bandwidth away from other midscopes and can be addressed through the balance process again", rather than "now that Yuumi's totally fixed forever"
For what it's worth I do think this verison of Yuumi will be meaningfully more balanceable, agree that what shipped at a minimum wasn't tuned right though (to state the obvious)
Why was the video removed in youtube
Video was meant to go out at 12.30pm PDT, not 12:30am PDT. We're working to get it and the blogs up properly now, apologies for the mess
Quick Play where you pick a champion and role and get at least one of them and jump straight into the game.
Can't wait for my Zed support
To clarify - champ and role are individual picks. You're doing things like choosing:
Not going to get assigned Zed as support as a result

It's really unfortunate the video went out early without the dev blog to accompany it, given the comments in the video don't stand on their own as well without all the extra context. We're working on getting everything posted properly now, some bits from the blog while we wait though:
"With Skarner's update, we wanted to take the chance to revisit the Brackern and reinvent what they are as a species, while maintaining their immense power and presence in Runeterra.
Where we landed was making the Brackern Runeterra's first earth elementalists, dating back to pre-civilization. Ancient and powerful, they're revered for their primal knowledge of earth, which they taught to the people of Runeterra long ago."
"Skarner currently resides in Shurima. However, with a new direction for the Brackern, we thought that Ixtal, with its deep connection to elemental magic, would be the perfect region for them.
With the Brackern as the first earth elementalists, we're e...

Hey folks
So uh, this was meant to go out at 12.30pm PDT, not 12.30am PDT, hence the lack of the mentioned blogs, lack of any of us replying on social media, video being set to private etc. We're going to stuff posted properly as soon as we can, apologies this process has been extra messy today...
In the meantime I have heard that some gaming vpns are having their ips blocked when connecting to sea servers (Exitlag and mudfish) was that intended? Because its the only way PLDT users like us to play at constant 20+ ping :(
Have them reach out to our team - [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) as we will need specific information to permit them due to all the malicious activity we've observed from anon VPNs and cloud based services.
player count doesn't matter, it's about percentages and if all roles aren't at 20% select rate you're going to need autofill. if 25% people want to mid and 15% want to jungle but you need 1 person in each role to start a game, you're going to need offroled players unfortunately.
Thank you for your response! I am so glad this is being looked at. Karma's "haste" animation is an odd one because it doesn't fit the standard of other haste animations. AFAIK most champions only use their run when being hasted and not as a permanent run until insane levels of movespeed are achieved. Most games Karma doesn't even reach above 420MS except when hasted so it's hardly noticed anyway - save the two bugged skins listed Conqueror and Winter Wonder who run at 380MS. The run was added by RiotLamz back when he was doing special runs for champs, but left hers in an odd spot. For awhile Karma had several skins that ran at different speeds and most were fixed to haste at 420MS+ save the two mentioned. Not sure if Karma is the exception to haste animations or what but it just feels like she's running on mud or in slow motion (imo) at 380MS.
Both Winter Wonder and Conqueror should be good now for 13.6.
Renegades vs Dignitas was the greatest game of all time. No one can convince me otherwise. ROCCAT vs Origen 2017 is a close 2nd.
Out of all the legacies that exist, this is one of them 😂
I’ll brag to my pooch about it
Hey if you're fixing bugs does that make you Bugel_Socks?
Maybe!
Is there any plan to reduce snowball? I am quite surprised snowball can be this crazy even with numerous comeback mechanics in the game, with Riot adding more in the form of obj bounties.
Drake change should be pretty meaningful there. Remember that high objective value doesn't just give you the snowball of claiming the objective, it also prompts bigger fights which means more kills giving gold and XP.
That said, snowball isn't that far out of its historic levels right now for most players. It's pretty high for top tier players relatively, but for average play we're pretty close to historic levels.
I was referring to his words around 42 ish minutes, where he states that ADCs weren't weak before, but they buffed up them anyways for "feel good" reasons, via Item/Runes and ended up making the role overpowered.
Also i titled it with the items because that's more clear, as those 3 are the biggest Changes that made ADC stronger, with the Crit Changes and BT shield adjustment.
Obviously there other things in the patch, but not everyone here konows what 13.1b contains, unlike what BT/IE/Navori are and do.
So, I'm gonna disagree with him a bit here. And one of the things I want to get across here is that Riot game designers are not a monolith - we each have a different perspective on things, and that's a strength of the organization, not a weakness.
ADC was relatively a bit underpowered on 13.1a, in addition to having some systems design that was not optimized well to feel good. Since then we both buffed their items and nerfed one of the competing carry classes quite hard in mid-late game carry potential (Fighters), which is also a relative boost for ADCs, so a solid buff ended up landing them relatively somewhat overpowered.
Dragon changes will also have an impact, but that one's complicated - it's lane-to-lane balance and how snowbally the game gets at the same time.
10 out of 10 stars. Incredible
but shouldn't the game be seeing that the account is challenger rank/iron MMR and give the account less gains as a result?
https://support-leagueoflegends.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/4405781372051-MMR-Rank-and-LP
or is this effect outweighed by the effect you mentioned where since he is playing vs silver MMR as an iron MMR, his gains are increased?
u/Auberaun can you chime in here? should an iron MMR account with challenger LP see less LP gains?
I mean there's a minimum LP gain amount that's set, but it's not too relevant in this case because these people are all getting banned anyway
