Well, not for me. I really enjoy turning over the rare, it's a fun moment. That said, I don't buy packs with gold, the packs I open come from the prerelease offer (the 50 packs bundle), the Mastery pass, and Limited event rewards.
I do agree that opening a wildcard feels disappointing. Which is really strange, as it is the best thing that you can open. But there it is, I'm waiting for some interesting rare or mythic, and this wildcard pops up. Go away, I already have a ton of your kind!

Again, insulting people doesn't make anything fixed faster. It does however violate our Code of Conduct and get your posts removed and you suspended from the forums, though. It is easy to be frustrated and voice your concerns without being toxic... Just voice your concern without insulting people. Say, "Hey, I'm running into the black screen issue. Is there a timeline on when this will be fixed? Or does anyone have advice on how to get around it for now? It's really frustrating that it isn't fixed yet."

If you ask about an issue, and we answer that we're aware of the problem and working on it, that is a perfectly reasonable answer. Being mean to our support people won't make things get fixed faster.

I get that it isn't the answer you want, and it's frustrating to wait for a fix, but we try to fix things as fast as possible. Unfortunately some bugs are harder to solve.

Well, allowing non-constructive rant posts is a double edged sword. On one hand, it gives people a safe space to vent and get some of the feel bads out of their system. On the other, it means I can't really participate in the conversation or gather meaningful feedback.

Bug Fixes

• Addressed several crashes involving playing in foreign languages (désolé, lo siento, Verzeihung, & desculpa)
• Fixed a bug that leaves cards improperly revealed in the hand.
• Added more logging to better identify & track down performance problems.

I can understand why they don't create an off topic board. That'd be more trouble than it's worth-- for users and for WotC.
One thing we might try is creating a thread just for people to post their account usernames with the intention to play casual games. I know there is already a pinned thread for general matchmaking... a thread where we can post stuff like, "Hey, I am looking to play off-meta stuff, etc." But I've gotten mixed results from it. I specifically said I prefer brews in my post and that netdecks were cool but no top-tier nonsense. But people who friended me seem to be split into 2 categories. People who bring stuff like Temur Rec to duel me with, and people with starter decks.
So maybe we could create a new thread just for casual/off meta seekers, and then ask if it can be pinned. Now, we already have the one pinned thread devoted to direct challenge connections, so, unless the new thread gains ...

I totally understand the want for a more casual format. I think a decent temporary solution would be to get a group together and direct challenge each other. You can set game stipulations and go from there. It would basically be how things work in a local game store!

Perhaps a way to friend people in the game, who we had fun playing against, might make that a more realistic option. Right now it's very hard to friend people because they decided to hide player's secret numbers, even here on the forum. While I have your attention, maybe an Off Topic section of the forums would be nice too.

Bug Fixes

• Players should no longer be able to swap to uncollected versions of the Core Set 2021 Mastery Pass pet.
• The deckbuilder should no longer inappropriately show up when attempting to view the "table/pod" during a Player Draft
• Players should no longer experience hard crashes when playing MTG Arena in non-English languages.
• Greatly reduced the frequency of players experiencing "black screens" when transitioning between scenes (e.g. exiting a match, navigating between the Store and Home, etc.)
• Added additional in-game messaging when players experience additional loading time in-between scenes.

Developer's Note: The “black screen” issues players are encountering are a result of longer-than-normal transition times between scenes. These come from a variety of sources, and this update fixes some, but not all of those. Som...

Now that's where we have another problem. Few days ago I had problem with endless "checking for updates" bug and tried to submit bug report. Guess what? Couldn't do that. Every time I tried clicked on Submit button it would just hang up there almost same way as the game was hanging on checking for updates screen.

That might be because the files you were submitting were too large. We very recently increased the file size limit, so that should prevent this from happening going forward.

I did not get a pack from the purchase I made from the deals section in the store or from the mastery pass. I know there’s a bug section to report but I can’t figure out how to use it. There have been so many bugs in the past where I tried to spend time reporting them and I just gave up.

Players make experience intermittent game crashes when playing MTG Arena with their language set to Brazilian-Portuguese, German, or Spanish.

As a temporary workaround, players can set their language to English through the options menu (Options -> Graphics -> Locale).
