I started the FNM with the following deck, but it didn't have enough interaction for me (since the white leyline prevents them from even casting some spells).
Non-creature Spells: (40)
x40 Leyline of Sanctity
So after digging around and asking my brother, I found Leyline of Combustion. I like it because it has more interaction.
I settled on this list:
Non-creature Spells: (40)
x40 Leyline of Combustion
I know it's not optimized, but it's a work in progress. You may want to play 250 Leylines, but I didn't test this.
Record
- I went 9 Win - 11 Losses.
- The whole thing took maybe 45 minutes.
- The most triggers I had on the stack was 99.
Early game
The early game is before you click "play". Make sure you have your emotes/stickers set up properly. You'll want at least:
- "Thinking" + sticker of Will thinking/calculating
- "Inferno Spark" OR Rowan cheering (you don't need both)
- "Backup plan"
Once you've got that set up, you're ready for the mid game.
Mid game - Every Inferno begins with a spark
The mid game is everything up to your mulligan decisions.
Your opening hand will be 7 Leylines. You'll want to put in some number of them onto the battlefield (I suggest all 7 since we aren't playing any lands, but you can try experimenting with fewer, maybe to bluff.)
Here's where the emotes come in: As the Leylines are being put in, I usually shout out a "Inferno Spark" emote. It gets the point across without being too toxic. I tried using Rowan's cheering emote, but it made me feel more morally troubled. I want my opponent to have fun too!
End game
The end game is everything from the first turn onward.
Hopefully it doesn't get here, but if it does, we have a couple options (see the "Key interactions and lines" section).
Tl; Dr. Remember your fundamentals: Play to your outs and know who's the beatdown?.
Key interactions and lines - Always have a backup plan
- Backup plan. The "Backup plan" emote is the most subtle of the emotes we use. It can be used as a "nice!" (such as when they play a creature we can't interact with at the moment), or it can be used offensively (such as when they clearly have no back-up plan). I tend to avoid the offensive use, because this will happen in the end game, and I appreciate that my opponent played out a whole game with me.
- Discarding. If it gets to turn 8, you'll have to discard a card. I like to shoot a couple of "thinking" emotes, to get a knowing laugh once you eventually discard another Leyline. Alternative: The Will "thinking" emote can be used here instead.
- Torment of Hellfire. If your opponent chooses X=7 (because they are on auto-pilot) you can sacrifice some (but not all!) of your Leylines. You will then lose to their next Hellfire.

Edit. Thanks for the awards! I'm glad it brought you joy. I hope you have a great day.
