I'm still having the black screen issue on my Mac. I've verified that it's the latest release and even clicked Verify on the game in the Epic launcher. I even deleted the game and reinstalled it.

The game will launch, but I get a black screen with the Arena cursor icon that I can move around the screen. I also get audio, what sounds like the wind blowing around. Other than that, can't see anything.

I saw there's a workaround for PC users, but nothing for Mac people. Any ideas? I'm out of them.

Are you on OS 10.12 (or older)? With the latest update Arena now requires 10.13.

I'm on OS 10.3.6, with 8GB of RAM, Intel Core i5.

I'm guessing you mean 10.10.3.6 (Yosemite) not actual 10.3 (Panther, from back in 2003 or something). In either case, you will need to update to MacOS 10.13 (High Sierra) or later to continue playing Arena.

No, I meant 10.13.6, I am on High Sierra.

Ah, well that should be fine from the OS standpoint, then. We'll continue investigating what might be going on here.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I've tried uninstalling it, reinstalling it, launching it from the Epic Games launcher, launching it directly. Nothing works.

Just a black screen with the cursor and I can hear audio, sounds like wind blowing.

What's your screen/monitor situation? This new update now supports fullscreen for Mac, and it sounds possible that maybe something's going wrong there?

Hey u/WotC_Jay is there any update to this three weeks later? Are us Mac users now just out of luck.

We're continuing to investigate, but don't have a solution identified yet. Current line of investigation is around an issue with some graphics cards/drivers, so updating drivers might help here.
