We're now releasing the second (uh... something something hopefully) release candidate for Minecraft 1.18.1. This release candidate fixes a chunk rendering issue. If there are no major issues following this release, no further changes will be done before the full release.

Happy mining!

If you find any bugs, please report them on the official Minecraft Issue Tracker. You can also leave feedback on the Feedback site.

Oh so that was what I got yesterday and that killed off my world.

I updated my SMP to 1.18 yesterday and when logging in one chunk in my base was not loading. I myself, all my dogs and a few villagers fell through the world into the void.

Had to revert the server. Glad to see this fixed.

This bug only existed in 1.18.1-rc1.

There's a really bad bug with the /clone command and command blocks. In some cases running /clone or a function containing multiple instances of /clone will cause a weird feedback loop where the command block will keep running every game tick, or in some odd cases every X game ticks, and it will refuse to stop until you break the command block. It happens regardless of if the command block is impulse, chain, or repeating. Please fix as it makes mapmaking literally impossible!

Reporting bugs on the tracker is much more effective than as a comment on reddit. And if you went to the tracker, you would've also found that you didn't need to, in the first place.

Hey sliced_lime, big fan. I did see those issues on the tracker but was thrown off because the main issue involved an observer which didn't describe my problem that well. Looking back, I see Mojang did say the problem was with the /clone command in the comments. I guess my experience on the tracker hasn't been the best. Several bugs I've been watching haven't been resolved in ages, so I let my urgency get the better of me here. Just forget I said anything and thanks for all the work you guys do.

Yes - there are lots of bugs open, and it's sometimes hard to find things. I totally understand the frustration of bugs not getting fixed too - but ultimately, if something is going to get fixed, it's because there was a report on there about it :)
