53s To call all the action with me, let me bring in my fellow caster and good friend, AJAX.
60s AJAX - I am so excited to talk about MultiVersus!
64s We get to finally bring some action from this Pro Player Showcase.
67s It is going to be a 2v2 style format
69s which is going to be utilizing the Perk System.
72s The Perk System allows you to change the style of the characters that you have,
75s whether it be the offense, the utility, or the defense and every character has their own unique perks as well
80s We'll see a lot of that when the match begins.
83s And there is also shared lives attached to this.
87s So when you are playing in 2v2s
89s you have to be very careful about when you are working with your teammate
93s because there are four lives in total and they are shared amongst the two of you
96s and if you're not paying attention, you might have one person loose all four.
100s It is going to be crucial that your communication is on point
103s and that you are working together the whole time. I can't wait for us to go ahead and see this action!
107s Sharpie - Now I believe the final thing is that all these different architypes inside of these characters
113s are incredibly important.
114s We have Assassins, we have Bruisers, we have Supports, and we have Mages.
117s Do you have any specific characters that you're really looking forward to seeing today, AJAX?
121s I'm very much looking forward for once maybe see potentially Batman,
125s but also a whole lot of support strength from these characters like Steven Universe
130s and something that seems like a support but is really solid at being a damage dealer as well, the Mage architype class, Bugs Bunny.
138s And of course the Tank, Wonder Woman.
140s We have so much potential we're going to get to show off here today for everyone to see
144s amongst all these different Architypes.
146s We'll let's not keep the people waiting.
147s I believe we have a match showcased here.
150s Light and ESAM will be on one team.
152s MVD and Lord Knight will be on the other.
154s Let's see some amazing versus play!
158s AJAX - Let's take a look, a close look, at these perks.
160s Here's the Perk System everyone.
162s You're looking at ESAM hovering over Toon Elasticity,
166s which reduces ground knockback based on when you get sent into a wall or on the ground.
172s So if anybody ever sends Batman into one of his shields, it's going to reduce that by 20%
177s and then amongst the other ones, you saw that he has Coffee-zilla.
181s Coffee-zilla is reducing the overall time that it takes to get those moves back, the special moves.
189s Which we see on two of them, both Batman and Steven Universe, so that's going to reduce it by 12% instead
194s because the Perks do stack on top of each other.
196s And then the last one, the Areal Acrobat control coming in from Steven Universe is going to allow him
200s more areal mobility while he's in the air.
202s And then Batman has two debuffs, the fire debuff and the lightning debuff
207s which increase hit stun off of a projectile and gives you damage over time from the fire debuff.
212s Cannot wait to see how this goes between these two teams.
215s Sharpie - Now I want to point out a very important perk that the red team, MVD and Lord Knight both have there
221s which is the Triple Jump Perk, allocating each player with an additional jump because it was stacked.
228s Very important, especially on a stage like this.
231s AJAX - Exactly. It allows you easier times to not only get back to the stage but chase the opponent as you see,
237s right now Light is doing that on the side.
240s He's going to be using that Batarang as often as possible.
242s Not only to get debuffs but to get the additional damage.
245s And we just saw an amazing option from the Steven. What just happened, Sharpie?
249s Sharpie - That was an amazing tether exploding actually adding the roast debuff on both.
253s And they also have the immediate up charge just from that recoil.
258s Absolutely crazy.
259s A large amount of damage coming down and no kills yet from the Blue side, but the Red team was able to secure a kill there.
265s AJAX - Yeah, these KOs are so consistent on the side of the Red Team, because of things like that rocket,
271s because of things like Arya where she can find you and get those ring outs very quick--
275s Almost getting sent out through the top right there as we see Batman coming in trying to find that uppercut and find a KO,
281s find that up special to close things out.
283s Here comes the double down neutral attack. You can charge that move as well to find the KO
288s and get them back into the game.
290s Sharpie - Oh wow, that Steven tether resulted in a ring out right there.
293s Very quick and easy, Bugs coming back in at 0%, but wow what a KO. Honestly.
298s Arya, one hit away from a buff right now.
301s Deproc does go through and that cleanse was so nice and easy.
304s Now Batman's really trying just to stay out of the air here.
307s Absolutely, absolutely just trying to work with that Watermelon Steven
310s Which unfortunately isn't doing very much right now.
313s Knocked off the stage.
315s AJAX - Gets sent away immediately.
317s And then there's that debuff you were talking about
320s Two debuffs on both of 'em and five stacks of that debuff leads to a bubble.
323s Sharpie - Wow AJAX - Whenever Steven Universe gets that on, that's free damage coming in.
327s 119 damage on the side of Batman.
329s Especially here on a stage like this, if you get caught in one of those up airs from Bugs Bunny, which is that bat.
336s Or the mallet right on the side of the stage is going to go ahead anbd find the ring out.
340s Sharpie - Now that was an amazing use of Steven Universe's proc right there.
343s One of Steven's passives is that when he dodges it actually creates a shield on him
347s and his ally that acts as an armor, but that armor is shared.
350s And what we saw just there was Batman immediately-- I'm sorry, actually Bugs going up to hit him
355s and completely ignoring that hit just because of that armor.
357s AJAX - And speaking of armor, Arya has the ability to always set a move to an armor break.
363s You will see the purple sparks on a move, that indicates that that move can in fact do an armor break or armor debuff.
369s Those armor debuffs increase knock back taken and it allows you to get through stacks of armor that someone may have placed on like a Wonder Woman.
376s That safe as well, if you break that safe from Bugs Bunny, it will drop an item onto the stage
380s that can be used by both players. As you see Bugs going straight under the stage to get out of that situation as quickly as possible.
386s Sharpie - Now this is really a testament, I feel, to Bugs' general horizontal strength
390s because my gosh, is he not doing amazing stuff with these up specials.
395s AJAX - Yeah, we see that up neutral attack right there coming in from Steven Universe as well.
400s Great knockback on that move.
402s Now coming in with the side air to close out the life right there on Arya.
406s Three lives a piece to get into--
409s And the final one taken there on the red team. Going to get the ring out and go ahead and take that first game on the side of MVD and Lord Knight.
416s Sharpie - What an amazing form MVD and Lord Knight there.
419s Now I really just want to call out something that MVD did incredibly well and something you did note we may see coming out from Bugs.
426s That projectile control. Absolutely insane. Absolutely crazy.
432s And I really feel as though that Triple Jump allowed Bugs to kind of just traverse around the entirety of the screen
437s without very much care as to how jumps or how many different types of recovery Bugs had left.
443s APEX - Absolutely, we saw those four ring outs on the side of Bugs Bunny
448s because of the fact that every time there was a projectile hit that was lined up,
452s it was there and ready to find the ring out on the top.
455s Or, you saw Lord Knight sending in with one of those side airs, with one of those very quick strings that Arya has access to.
461s To send them that way as well.
462s And something to keep a very close eye on while were talking about the perks of the Blue Team,
467s the Red Team as well, when you have Arya who uses the wounded perk,
471s enemies that get stuck by this perk will get increased stun debuff when they are knocked back
476s so it allows consistent follow ups.
479s It's much better as you use that move, but when you get stuck by that knife, it allows Arya to instantly teleport to that opponent.
488s So you have to watch out at all times and if you're not careful, MVD's going to be there and ready to find that ring out off the top of that map.
494s Sharpie - Now one of the things I would like to see in this upcoming match that I feel as though Lord Knight could probably excel at
499s is one of the really amazing things that Arya has as a passive, is that when she does actually ring out an enemy
506s she spawns a pie that both heals and debuffs her enemies.
511s Meaning that it will heal her and put a slow debuff on her enemies.
515s Absolutely amazing in addition to also giving her a rage buff as well.
519s So I'm very very excited to see that.
521s AJAX - And something very similar to that too, you have Batman who has the smoke bomb.
524s If Batman gets anybody in the smoke bomb on the other team, they get slowed and any moves that happen while Batman is invisible will lead to an armor debuff as well.
534s Sharpie - Cool! AJAX - And if you get five stacks of that, it increases knockback on the opponent.
537s We're seeing a double up here on Lord Knight as MVD came back in, Light was instantly there to try and answer that and back him off.
546s Sharpie - Now I really have to say I'm absolutely loving ESAM's setup here, using Watermelon Steven
552s to kind of get that tether whenever ya need be. Absolutely love that.
555s AJAX - Woooo! Sharpie - Really good tether, really good tether as well.
557s AJAX - That was so amazingly played right there by the Blue Team.
560s You saw how Light had him in a couple of the jab strings to set him into a combo
565s and then after he got knocked up, you saw ESAM instantly go for the tether to try and find the up special,
570s using that shield to find a K off the top.
572s Still no KOs happening here. All the ring outs, almost two of em right there.
576s Sharpie - Wow, amazing ring out there by ESAM. Just a very very stellar up move to go ahead and get that KO.
585s AJAX - And now, what are you doing here. On the side of Red Team,
588s you want to go ahead and answer right back. You see 117 damage on the side of Steven.
593s Sharpie - Wow! AJAX - That's exactly what you do. You see the burrow coming in from Bugs Bunny,
596s on his way all the way underneath and also found himself exiting the building immediately. And an answer right back from the Blue Team.
603s Sharpie - That looked like an amazing Batarang that we kinda talked about before there, AJAX.
609s AJAX - Exactly. You wanna use those Batarangs to set up team combos.
612s As the Batarang comes back, not only does it give a debuff from the additional damage you take from that fire,
617s but also the ability to combo is so consistent.
620s These burrows coming in from Bugs Bunny, priming his way onto the stage, consistently getting in using that as a great
627s option to go ahead and get up close and personal.
629s Sharpie - Oh, wow. We're at a point right now where Blue Team is literally one ring out away from victory.
634s Lord Knight at 55%. MVD at now 8-- 100%. Oh my god.
639s All it's literally going to take is one tether to go ahead and secure this right now, for Blue Team.
644s AJAX - Great job on the Red Team finding that up air from from Arya that has multi-hits and it's very easy to find it.
650s Now what you just saw with Arya a second ago. That spin is when the knife is on a debuff.
656s You can see underneath Steven Universe there is a cooldown for your specials in this game.
660s Not every single move is a cooldown based move, but you have to keep an eye on that.
664s If you play close attention to when Batman says, "I cannot use that yet."
669s That is when the Batarang is currently broken or the Batbomb is not available.
673s You have to listen to those sound cues as well, and you have to listen to that victory go off
677s as we see Batman go ahead and find that Batarang and getting that spike at the bottom of the stage.
682s Now we're at one a piece.
684s Sharpie - Amazing, amazing play there from both ESAM and Light.
688s We can even see that it appears as though Light did the brunt of that work inside of that set up.
693s Having 409 damage going exclusively to Batman. What a crazy display there.
699s AJAX - And what was beautiful about that too was that even with that 409 damage,
703s the consistency of finding those hits with Batarang and the speed of Batman,
707s it was the Steven that had three ring outs.
710s You want to work with your teammate to set those up.
712s Every time that you saw Light get a quick string and put them in the air,
717s you saw the tether coming in from ESAM to get that explosion to get that knock out off the top.
723s It was very well executed. I'm curious to see what the change ups will be here on the side of MVD and Lord Knight to answer that back.
731s Sharpie - Now one of the things I do want to shout out that ESAM did icredibly well inside that match up.
736s I noticed that whenever he was putting down Watermelon Steven, there was a healing AOE effect that affected not only him, but also Batman.
743s Meaning that they could go ahead and soak up that much more damage.
746s Now inside of a Bugs match, where you specifically have to worry about projectiles coming and very possibly knocking you off the stage at higher percentages,
753s that heal is going to go a very long way.
755s In addition, the cleanse aspect of putting down Watermelon Steven
760s helps so much so that you don't have to neccessarily worry about Arya's backstab procs.
766s Very, very useful.
768s AJAX - Exactly. Something I also noticed as well is usually when you see someone like an Arya or a Harley Quinn,
772s when they're playing they like to use the perk that increases vertical damage
776s off of things like your up airs.
778s But when you look at that perk lineup, both players are using all three of the same.
783s Which allows double stacking, so it gives Bugs Bunny the ability to get all of his tools back quicker,
789s have greater areal movement,
790s and the triple jump.
792s It allows Lord Knight to instead of being the person who gets the KOs,
795s allowing him to set up for MVD to find them as well.
798s Sharpie - For sure.
800s And oh no, it looks like Steven is in a rough spot right now because of that shield.
804s Luckily it's gone now so they have a bit more space to work with.
806s And Light's just trying his best to get back on stage and put out some damage himself.
811s AJAX - Oh, and not paying attention to the Looney Tune himself. An Acme rocket finding it's way back down.
816s That move will come back around the time it's getting ready to finish its cooldown,
821s but you may forget about it for a while because it takes a long time for it to find its way back down.
825s That was so well played and now the Red Team gets another up air off of Bugs Bunny and gets two lives in the lead.
833s Sharpie - Lord Knight going ahead and putting some real damage on Watermelon Steven. Trying to get him out of the fight.
837s And MVD just doing amazing things with projectiles.
839s Trying to keep Steven out of the fight and focus on Batman here.
843s AJAX - And doing exactly that and not only that, but taking him out.
847s And you see 38 damage almost getting knocked out off the top,
849s but they finally get a point on the side of the Blue Team.
852s Here comes that side air.
854s That shield is going to take out the Arya.
856s The Blue Team can very much so get back into this game,
859s if they can get some coordinated 2v1s as they're doing right now.
862s Sharpie - Now there's a lot of tactic aid coming down from Steven
865s meaning that Steven Universe is actually using a similar attack over and over again
869s resulting in that attack not only doing less damage but also resulting in less knockback from that damage.
874s It's very important, especially inside of MultiVersus to divy up the gains that you use.
878s But it ultimately wont matter in this instance because another win will go over to Lord Knight and MVD inside of this game.
884s AJAX - That was very good recognition from MVD at that point,
888s because you saw the side air come out from Steven Universe which stopped the start up of the up special
893s which is that rocket.
895s Normally, that will lead to a very long cooldown, but because that got hit at the very startup, before the rocket was able to be sent off.
901s you can use it again.
903s So as soon as MVD recognized that,
906s he saw Light was flying above him,
908s and unfortunately got sent straight to the ceiling and knocked out of his own Batcave.
911s Sharpie – Now I’m really interested
913s interested in exactly what type of teamwork was going on inside that very last match.
917s I would absolutely love to hear from the players and I think we’re actually going to throw over to the players
924s and kind of listen in on some of the teamwork that may be going on from the blue side.
928s ESAM - *sigh* That one was hectic
930s and a lot of the other times the hecticness would help us
932s but MVD was on point that game.
934s Light – Yeah I agree.
935s ESAM – LordKnight was a little bit passive in a good way.
939s Like he wasn’t in a bad spot.
941s Light – I think that’s their whole thing cause like he gets big damage combos
944s but I think when it comes to killing it’s mainly going to be from MVD.
947s So like LK is just going to have to live.
951s ESAM – Yeah, I’m still confident with the character choices though.
954s MVD – So if it’s true we haven’t gotten it at all.
957s It has like uh two main fields of play on the left and the right with like a hole in the middle.
963s So it’s really good for zoning and camping so if you ever need to just like go to one side and chill, like that’s fine.
971s Like you have cooldowns that you need to get back or whatever,
974s you can just run away and there’s also platforms that move offscreen or off the platforms rather.
982s Ajax – Alright as we continue to look at this match here, you can listen in and hear the way that the red team was talking about
988s the early play not only did MVD find himself a triple down air in the last match,
993s it was answered right back as well on the start of LordKnight who ended up losing that life very quickly off the start.
1000s Blue team doing an amazing job, kinda holding the lead, holding position on the right side here of Trophy’s Edge too, to make sure that Red Team has to be the one to actually run in.
1009s And we see ESAM go in with that tether to get some damage catching him off guard.
1012s Sharpie – Amazing tether. Oh, even got the bubble there off of Bugs.
1016s That’s absolutely huge.
1017s MVD sitting at 114% right now,
1019s very much so within knockout range.
1021s Steven is just throwing out these tethers trying to get somebody right now.
1025s Wonderful play there.
1026s And a wonderful follow up by Batman as well.
1028s We’re just looking for one more ring out right now and Bugs is the hopeful contender.
1033s Ajax – Yeah Bugs nearing very close but you saw the shield coming in from the passive ability from Steven allowing him to avoid potentially one hit.
1040s Up air just missed out.
1042s It’s not going to miss up that time
1044s but answered right back as soon as that happened ESAM was in position
1048s to immediately take a rocket to the face after getting the K.O. staring that one down not dodging quick enough.
1056s Sharpie – That was really funny I’m sorry. Wonderful play there by MVD.
1062s They are completely tied up right now.
1065s The very next ringout will go ahead
1067s ahead and take this specific game
1069s game and oh my goodness as I’m watching LK come up with some of these crazy aerial moves right now
1074s I’m just hoping and praying for this Steven Universe’s life.
1079s Ajax – And that rocket almost taking off the top at 30 damage
1082s you have to be so careful around the strength that is Bugs Bunny.
1085s And now they have them separated so you throw the batarang to keep Bugs over there as you continue to attack this Arya.
1091s Lord Knight having a very hard time you saw the shield go high
1094s and now they’re going to heal for a second if you leave them alone for too long.
1097s Sharpie - Oh wow, okay. Steven Universe going in to the fire going into the flame has to be very very careful here.
1102s Trying to put a tether on but doesn’t look like Batman’s able to go in fast enough.
1105s Dodges the Arya pie but isn’t able to do much else after that.
1109s And that is going to be an unfortunate ringout for Steven Universe putting MVD and Lord Knight up 3–1 inside this specific match. Crazy.
1121s AJAX - And that was incredible recognition from LordKnight because the blade was on the moving platform. If you move into that blade at any time it will become attached to you.
1133s And as soon as it became attached you saw Arya instantly teleport over to the Steven,
1139s close it out with the up special off the top and taking it three – one to seal the deal here in the Pro Player Showcase.
1148s Sharpie – Ajax, that play absolutely astounding.
1151s Incredibly hype.
1152s And honestly, I’m not going to lie to you, I may have missed a few really awesome moments but I think we have an instant replay.
1158s Can you go over some of the cruxes of that amazing set?
1161s Absolutely. Lets go ahead and take a look back at what happened here between these two teams.
1166s A big primary thing that happened was that huge rocket. Finding those ringouts left and right.
1173s You see it off the top, you see it off the left, and then you see this knockout here on the right hand side as well
1177s from MVD catching Light going above the stage.
1180s And it happened twice using the safe as a projectile cause if you use the safe after it’s grounded with one of those side airs or a move in general it can knock it away.
1188s But that move right there catching Steven as the tether comes
1193s through and then using the tether to find a ringout himself between the two teams is such a good tool.
1199s Now here in this game you see as ESAM tried to jump over the top of the rocket to get away from it.
1205s To get away from the pressure not only caught Light at the bottom for throwing a Batarang but caught ESAM for jumping too.
1210s And speaking of catching ESAM jumping,
1212s right after he tried to jump away from that one the rocket went right underneath the stage
1217s and then catches another one off the top.
1219s MVD the MVP it’s mostly been the rocket so far as well.
1225s Right here in this final game you see a lot of pressure coming in from red team.
1229s They had such good team synergy including this moment right here.
1232s Sharpie – Whoa what happened there?
1234s Ajax – As you see as Bugs jumps up towards Steven you can use the knife to teleport to that target as well
1241s so even if that bat missed LordKnight was already ready to go in catching that hit right there from the knife as well.
1249s Perfectly executed team synergy and that was in fact the final ringout of the set and an incredible one at that.
1255s Sharpie – Now I know you said MVD, MVP, or MVB most valuable bunny,
1262s but I’m really interested in what these players felt throughout the entirety of this set.
1267s Now I think instead of maybe doing some of these 2v2s we do a 1v1 with you and some of these players.
1272s Very possibly some interviews? What do you think about that?
1275s Ajax – Absolutely. Let’s go ahead and talk to the players and see how they felt about this experience today.
1284s Alright everybody we get to hear from Light himself in a second about how he felt the MultiVersus Pro Player Showcase went.
1291s Light, how are you doing today?
1294s Light – I’m doing pretty good. This game was really fun. A lot more fun that I expected at first
1300s and I’m very happy about that.
1302s Ajax – The perks that you picked for this character,
1304s what was the reasoning behind why you decided to go
1306s and how did you like the perks setup as a whole on which you did with Batman?
1310s Light – I liked the perks setups in terms of the cooldown perk setup
1313s where I had it stacked with like ESAM so when we stacked that with each other
1318s other it makes it very easy for when I lose my Batarang I can get it back.
1322s And Batman’s play is just revolved all around Batarangs so I felt very uncomfortable when I didn’t have it.
1327s So that cooldown was very like it was very important to me especially being stacked.
1331s Ajax – Working with him you had to have really good team synergy, you had to have good communication.
1335s Between the characters that you picked, what was the gameplan that you had behind the Batman and the Steven.
1341s Light – Okay so the Batman and the Steven combo was something I actually really enjoyed for the fact that
1345s I struggled as Batman I feel like I struggled to kill unless I had a clean setup
1350s which is hard to do in doubles but me and Steven are very good at camping and making people like play our game.
1356s So we were very good at keeping people out
1358s and going in whenever we wanted to
1360s and when we needed a second I would be able to set up smoke
1363s and he’d be able to set up shield and self heals so we could take a minute and just take a breather you know?
1368s And even though we did struggle to kill a little
1370s ESAM was very good at finding those moments where he could just catch people in the air due to my batarang blowing up
1376s and just like getting them in the air in a disadvantage and killing them for that.
1380s Ajax – How excited are you for the release of when MultiVersus finally hits for everyone to pick up?
1384s Light – I’m really excited for that.
1386s Honestly, I’m being completely honest about this game.
1389s It took me by surprise because looking at this game at first I’m like, this game looks kind of slow,
1395s and then I touched it for five seconds and I’m like I can’t keep up.
1398s Like, people are going really fast and it’s like blowing my mind.
1401s And I’m like okay I want to get to that level you know?
1403s And when you see that skill ceiling where you’re like
1406s oh people are doing something I can’t do
1409s it really puts me out there like I want to try it
1411s I want to get way better at it
1412s and this game definitely did that for me very quickly you know?

1438s ESAM – I’m feeling pretty good.
1439s That was a lot of fun. It was a hard fought battle
1441s and even though me and Light lost
1442s you know MVD and LordKnight played great it was still at on of fun to be a part of something like this.
1447s Ajax – Talk about 2v2s. This is a very different style 2v2 than you might be used to.
1452s What is it about the differences in this 2v2 that you liked about MultiVersus?
1456s ESAM – So the thing about the 2v2s in this game that’s really interesting is the shared lives.
1461s Obviously that’s very different from other games
1463s and it’s interesting because a lot of times you can kind of focus on one player
1467s and get the weaker player out of the way and that takes away from the strong player.
1471s That doesn’t happen in this game
1473s because both players have a shared amount of lives.
1476s So when you’re playing 2v2 and you want to try to, you know,
1479s target someone it’s less effective so you kind of just have to constantly be switching your targets in a way that makes more sense
1485s which is really difficult. It’s definitely different and in my opinion it is a lot of fun.
1492s But at the same time you can have swingier comebacks because if you’re down three lives to one or like three ringouts to one ringout
1498s ringout it can feel really hopeless but in this game because you can kind of you know
1502s know play a little bit more defense and
1504s realize what’s happening and only pick your good spots
1507s which I think happened a lot in the final game.
1512s Ajax – Well being somebody who’se been able to actually get some access to the gameplay early
1516s early and see what these character can do,
1518s even though it’s not all of them, eventually you’re gonna be able to get them all. How excited

1531s ESAM – So honestly,

1534s a couple of platform fighters that I have played
1537s that I was really excited about that I was kind of let down by.
1542s MultiVersus is not that. It is it has been so fun
1546s like I can tell when I have an itch for a game because I play it and I’m just constantly going oh well
1552s this strategy would work oh this strategy would work okay this is like I was really paying attention and figuring out
1557s out the type of combinations that I want to do
1561s and then I’ll think about it outside of when I’m playing.
1564s I’ll just be like you know just doing like the dishes or cooking or something
1567s and I’m like hmm I wonder if I can do this this and this combo how can I avoid that and I like was just thinking about it
1573s and that’s a good sign.
1577s I really like the movement of this game.
1579s I think that it is really it’s like really delicately balanced
1585s because I feel like the movement is like just good enough
1588s and the combos are just good enough without being like overwhelmingly good and broken.
1593s I feel like there’s a lot of little lines that you have to tick
1596s that are really make or break for a game
1600s like it has to be like kind of technical but incredibly technical for a player base.
1604s It has to you know have early kills but not ridiculously early kills
1607s it has to be a little bit passive for the defensive players but not too passive where it’s boring
1611s and I feel like every single one of those marks right now at least it hits.

1637s LordKnight – Feeling pretty good. The game was really fun and I’m glad I got to play with MVD.
1641s Ajax – Now very unique in that support aspect is also the uniqueness of the 2v2 format that we have here in MultiVersus.
1648s What is your initial impression of the 2v2 here in MultiVersus?
1655s LordKnight – So the main thing about the 2v2 in MultiVersus
1658s is that you have to really think about the character synergy so it’s not just like
1663s what character you’re playing with what character
1665s but also the perks you’re using so
1668s for example like I was playing with MVD
1670s and we ended up using the same perks
1672s because the perks can stack on each other
1675s and it actually helps Arya out a like so so much
1679s the stacked version of the perks as opposed to the normal version.
1683s So you can create a lot of unique strategies between not just character combinations but also like what type of perks you want to use.
1690s Ajax – What was it about the Bugs and Arya combo that you were trying to succeed with? What was the team synergy you were looking for between those two?
1697s LordKnight – So the main thing that I think we did is
1701s we focused a lot on making sure that I set up Bugs Bunny for a KO.
1706s So since she has a move two moves that teleport to the opponent
1711s there’s a lot of opportunities for Bugs Bunny to either use the rocket or another attack to set up a KO
1718s and there are times when this can happen really really early
1722s and I think especially in the last game
1725s this really happened because we were behind by a lot
1727s but I got set up two combos for Bugs Bunny for early KOs
1731s and then at the end there was another spot where I teleported over to them when they weren’t ready to close the game.

1750s How are you feeling about this game man?
1753s MVD – I love this game. I’m doing pretty well. Today was a very fun day.
1757s This game is great. Game is great. Game is great.
1761s Ajax – Well I’m glad to hear it.
1763s Now you did something pretty ridiculous today and you showed Bugs Bunny’s absolute strengths in every regard.
1770s What was it that drew you to wanting to play Bugs Bunny in the first place?
1773s MVD – I mean ever since I was a kid like watching Looney Tunes growing up like Bugs Bunny was a character I really just enjoyed.
1780s You know those snarky remarks and little funny guy and a little
1784s kinda like a troll basically and I just always really enjoyed his
1789s aura and what he’s about. And once I got my hands on Bugs in the game
1794s he just like it was like magical. Everything that I envisioned Bugs to be like if he were to fight people
1800s or in a platform fighter is exactly what’s in this game and it was just like love at first sight for me.
1807s Ajax – Something that allowed you both to be not only great at positioning but that chaotic behavior you were just eluding to
1814s was the fact you both used the same three perks on your team. What was the decision making behind the three perks you chose?
1821s MVD – So I feel like having extra just like the lower cooldowns as a whole is really important
1828s but then at the same time the other two that I used were the triple jump
1832s and aerial acrobat
1833s so for Bugs as you saw I loved to use the bat to hit them upwards
1839s so getting a third jump to be able to knock people out off the top was really important for the team but for me as an individual.
1847s And LordKnight enjoyed the idea that the aerial control was if we both had it on was 25%
1856s so his whole thing was a lot of the times he felt he couldn’t land
1860s so having a 25% aerial increase of like control to him felt like it was a lot easier for him to get back to the stage.
1868s Ajax – What was it exactly that like you feel you and LordKnight did that was better than the other team this time around and allowed you to actually get the victory?
1876s MVD – I think I don’t know personally how the other team communicated
1881s but I know LordKnight and I man we were having full blown conversations like every single
1887s thought we had we displayed it verbally to each other
1891s so we were always on the same page. If he needed help I had his back, if I needed help he had my back.
1897s If he started getting someone with a combo he’d would just yell alley oop
1901s because Bugs Bunny plays basketball so I would go up there and slam dunk to end the lives there.
1908s So our communication was extremely important.
1911s AJAX - I think that’s one of the most important things that is going to happen as this game goes on is you need that communication from both players.
1918s Otherwise, as you get higher up in the ranks it's going to be a lot more difficult to succeed and that's going to allow people to
1924s get that much closer and learn that much more about the game.
1927s And you've pretty much already answered this in almost every time you've talked about Bugs, but we want to hear it.
1932s How excited are you for the release of MultiVersus and for the fans that are eagerly waiting to play the game,
1937s what do you have to say to them?
1939s MVD - I absolutely cannot wait for this game to come out, like I just want it to be out now.
1944s I've been super excited for this game the second it got announced.
1949s It's the style of game, of platform fighter, that I enjoy.
1954s The IPs are incredible.
1957s The amount of characters you can still add to this game
1960s is ridiculous.
1962s And I know a lot of people that are excited for it.
1964s And I would just tell the people that it's going to be worth the wait.
1968s The game is extremely fun.
1970s There's a lot of personality in the game and everyone feels like they have their own heart and soul.
1976s A lot of time was really put into making these characters feel so alive, and like, be the perfect representation of who we grew up with
1989s and what we enjoyed watching for our entire lives, and I think, the amount of expression you can do can do in game,
1995s because the characters talk a lot and say a lot of things.
2000s I feel like that's a reflection on who you are as a person
2003s and a lot of people are going to really enjoy this game.
