| 402s | you guys are feeling about naraka so far |

| 407s | through the Twitter Facebook Discord and |
| 410s | we've been seeing a lot of the pain |
| 412s | points and some of the things that you |
| 414s | really wish we could change so we're |
| 416s | hoping to do like a little bit of the |
| 418s | state of naraka to kind of reassure you |
| 420s | about like where naraka is headed and |
| 422s | like you know your feedback is valuable |
| 425s | and we're listening to you but before we |
| 427s | jump into that |
| 429s | um since we've been playing for three |
| 430s | months yeah I want to know honestly irfa |
| 433s | who's your favorite character so far |
| 435s | I have to say it's Matari it's my girl |
| 438s | first off guys I am sure some of you may |
| 442s | agree with me she is gorgeous that I |
| 444s | will not dispute yeah she's a great |
| 446s | assassin she's like this desert princess |
| 449s | and I just like her because I like how |
| 453s | easy she's she's to play with she has |
| 455s | very impressive mobility and all I can |
| 458s | do is just like teleport from one to |
| 460s | another and then just sneak behind my |
| 462s | enemy and Slash |
| 465s | I'm laughing so much because Erica's |
| 468s | probably one of the sneakiest people |
| 469s | I've ever worked with so true my God Ali |

| 592s | really not enough love in the Western |
| 594s | Market and there's not enough |
| 595s | communication that's why we are here |

| 604s | now and our whole hope is to really |
| 607s | improve things from here on out so we've |

| 618s | are eight times those wait times we know |
| 621s | it can be arduous we know that it's also |
| 625s | very finicky it depends on the time the |
| 628s | game and the game mode so just be rest |
| 631s | assured that this is a constant thing |
| 634s | that the deaf team is continuing to |
| 636s | investigate and as well as optimizing |
| 639s | the process for you so that you know |
| 641s | wait times will be reduced yeah because |
| 643s | we all want to get in game |

| 648s | slash everything's saying all of this |
| 650s | but she's really bad at Morocco I need |
| 653s | more practice I need more oh that's a |
| 655s | good topic because next we're gonna talk |

| 658s | oh yeah I'm talking about matchmaking |

| 661s | that's part of the experience so bud has |
| 663s | seemed to be like one of the hot button |
| 665s | topics from our community and we know |
| 668s | naraka in itself is a very high skill |
| 671s | cap game and it is necessary for you |
| 674s | guys to practice and ease new players |
| 677s | into the game right honestly truly for |
| 680s | me what's really healthy well it helped |
| 682s | me too right I mean like and that's one |
| 684s | of the rewarding things of playing in |
| 685s | Iraqi like yes it is a higher skill Gap |
| 687s | than maybe your average game but once |
| 689s | you really get into the Combos and the |
| 691s | skills you really feel very powerful |
| 693s | once you start thank you both |

| 698s | um obviously like as we grow the |
| 701s | community as we have a stronger player |
| 703s | base we really hope that you can expect |
| 706s | fewer bots in your matches and that's |
| 709s | really what we want right as well the |
| 711s | ultimate goal is for you guys to have |
| 713s | really great experience in Iraq yeah |
| 714s | because naraka science is a PVP game yep |
| 717s | but let's talk about the fact that if |
| 720s | you are not aware naraka is available on |
| 723s | PC on Xbox currently and so we have |
| 726s | cross-platform play yes so cross play if |
| 730s | you're familiar with other games allows |
| 731s | you to match make with people from |
| 733s | different Platforms in naraka we haven't |
| 736s | exactly shared those details in a |
| 739s | concise way yeah we do see the confusion |
| 741s | from the players it is it is something |
| 743s | that we're gonna hopefully work on the |
| 745s | next couple weeks to make sure that we |
| 746s | provide a very concise very clear road |
| 750s | map or rather like a |
| 753s | uh document about how you can understand |
| 756s | what you can do and what you can't do |
| 759s | in Cross play and so that will include |
| 762s | all your features and limitations one of |
| 764s | the big things that I want to clarify |
| 765s | right now is that the storefront that |
| 769s | you're playing naraka on is where your |
| 771s | progress will be saved so if you play |
| 773s | naraka on the epic game store |
| 774s | unfortunately you can't take that |
| 776s | progression over to steam and you can't |
| 779s | take that over to the Xbox game pass but |
| 782s | that's just the current limitation but |
| 784s | we'll see what can happen in the future |
| 786s | don't hold us to any promises we'll see |
| 788s | what the death team can do and yeah stay |
| 791s | tuned for more details on that but when |
| 793s | talking about Xbox |
| 795s | there's another pascular issue that |
| 797s | we've had to deal with yeah the |
| 798s | networking issue yeah that we have seen |
| 801s | coming up and has been some persistence |
| 803s | to some of you yeah so we've been |
| 806s | working with Microsoft from the very |
| 808s | beginning once we started getting |
| 809s | reports and from everything that we can |
| 812s | see so far it appears to be us an issue |
| 815s | that's specific to the Xbox units |
| 818s | themselves so if you're trying to play |
| 821s | naraka and you get that typical network |
| 823s | error that actually has to do with your |
| 827s | internet connection so if you just reset |
| 829s | your connection on your Xbox you should |
| 830s | be able to hop back into game but we're |
| 833s | hoping that as we continue to work with |
| 834s | Microsoft we can figure out maybe if |
| 837s | there's some update or something that |
| 839s | could be done to kind of help smooth |
| 841s | that out and also |
| 843s | eliminate this problem in the future |
| 845s | because we don't want we don't want to |
| 847s | be locked out of their accounts because |
| 848s | they can't play because their internet |
| 849s | on their XBox just isn't working yeah |
| 852s | yeah and let's talk about |
| 854s | yeah but before balance oh did we talk |
| 857s | about the fact that you know |
| 860s | everybody wants to talk about naraka's |
| 862s | servers and like they want to play it |
| 864s | from all different regions of the world |
| 866s | because we have a growing Global player |
| 869s | base yeah it's |
| 870s | first off we asked |
| 872s | us so the community speaking for death |
| 876s | to add more servers we're getting some |
| 877s | shout outs from South America and if you |
| 880s | guys are watching hello and then like |
| 881s | shout out from Australian asking to get |
| 884s | Australia servers we hear you and this |
| 887s | feedback has been received by the deaf |
| 890s | team so they are doing the best they can |
| 893s | to help accommodate to our growing |
| 895s | community so if we have any update on |
| 898s | that front we'll be sure to tell you |
| 901s | you'll be the first one to know yeah |

| 909s | to talk about balance and we're going to |
| 911s | talk about my favorite character that's |
| 912s | currently being changed because we |
| 915s | really just want to make sure that he's |
| 916s | a little bit more balanced and fair to |
| 918s | players but naraka is a high skill game |
| 920s | and it also has a lot of different |
| 923s | things in it it has a variety of weapons |
| 925s | you have hero skills yeah |
| 929s | there's just so much going on so as you |
| 932s | can appreciate it can be really |
| 934s | challenging navigating that Balancing |
| 936s | Act of making sure things are accessible |
| 939s | that characters are not too overpowered |
| 942s | and that things aren't too underwhelming |
| 944s | yeah so the last couple of updates we've |
| 947s | really tried to look at are chug chug |
| 950s | chug run guys |
| 953s | because she's you know not as good as I |
| 956s | am |
| 957s | but |
| 958s | realistically |
| 960s | um we had to make some changes to Target |
| 962s | G because in Solo especially if you use |
| 966s | his ultimate in certain circumstances he |
| 969s | becomes almost impossible to deal with |
| 971s | yeah and that's really not a great |
| 973s | experience for people so in our last |
| 975s | couple of updates we tried to bring him |
| 977s | down a little bit maybe he's a little |
| 979s | bit more sober than you we humble darker |
| 982s | G hey but that came about due to your |
| 987s | feedback so your feedback is what really |
| 989s | informs these decisions so if you want |
| 991s | to say thank you for giving that to us |
| 992s | and we want you to continue to give us |
| 994s | feedback whether it be on weapons skills |
| 997s | other characters let us know what we can |
| 999s | do to continue to make Maraca as fun and |

| 1131s | March 16. so we also have an in-game |
| 1134s | event currently happening where you can |
| 1136s | actually unlock his backstory so if you |
| 1139s | haven't we have some really good news we |
| 1141s | managed to get a member of our narrative |
| 1144s | team to talk more about acres and how |
| 1147s | he's created so let's look at that |
| 1149s | footage yeah so see on the flip side |
| 1169s | hi I'm Jesse and I'm a senior writer for |
| 1172s | the English language version of naraka |
| 1174s | Blade point my writing process for acos |
| 1177s | started when I got a brief from my |
| 1180s | colleagues in Hangzhou they had come up |
| 1182s | with this character and some concept art |
| 1185s | and a back story and they shared that |
| 1187s | with me and then it was my job to take |
| 1190s | this and kind of distill it down into |
| 1193s | something that we could |
| 1195s | use you know write voice over lines |
| 1198s | write short stories fill out that |
| 1201s | character in the different ways that the |
| 1204s | players are actually going to experience |
| 1205s | him so I started by just kind of trying |
| 1207s | to figure out hey what what's a fun way |
| 1210s | to do this character |
| 1212s | ultimately I decided that it was you |
| 1215s | know the the focusing on him being this |
| 1218s | kind of rebellious Reckless Wild guy |
| 1222s | would be fun and would give some good |
| 1225s | opportunity for some some interesting |
| 1227s | lines so I worked on those line lines |
| 1229s | along with my team you know we have an |
| 1232s | editor and some other writers and and |
| 1235s | you know many people that contribute to |
| 1237s | this so we put together a voiceover |
| 1239s | script and then we did a casting call |
| 1242s | looking for an actor who could play a |
| 1244s | coast and we found Stephen Foo who was |
| 1249s | absolutely the perfect choice Stephen |
| 1252s | brought so much personality and so much |
| 1255s | humor to this character took my dry |
| 1259s | boring words and brought life to them |
| 1261s | there were so many lines that he put put |
| 1265s | you know read in in a way that just made |
| 1267s | them uh so much more fun and engaging |
| 1272s | and yeah at the same time we're working |
| 1274s | on these short stories which are these |
| 1276s | things which players can if they're |
| 1279s | interested to learn more about the |
| 1281s | character they can obtain by completing |
| 1285s | challenges in the game and can then read |
| 1288s | in order to learn more about acosa's |
| 1292s | story |
| 1293s | one of the defining characteristics of |
| 1295s | acos is his disdain for Authority so he |
| 1300s | grows up in the wild doesn't like to be |
| 1303s | told what to do even when he eventually |
| 1305s | does serve in the military alongside yui |
| 1308s | Sean he's not a very good soldier in |
| 1311s | terms of following orders uh Sean of |
| 1314s | course is very regimented and believes |
| 1316s | in the hierarchy and all that kind of |
| 1318s | stuff so that causes a great rift |
| 1320s | between the two of them |
| 1322s | akos also believes a lot in fighting for |
| 1326s | what he believes is right |
| 1328s | his people come from a region known as |
| 1331s | Cloud Sparrow and so when he sees that |
| 1334s | they're threatened he decides to stand |
| 1337s | up for them and breaks away from the the |
| 1340s | um military and goes and fights for his |
| 1345s | people which is sort of the final Rift |
| 1348s | between he and UAE Sean |
| 1350s | the fact that akos is so wild is this |
| 1353s | kind of |
| 1354s | guy Who Can't Be Tamed is one of the |
| 1357s | reasons why the new season we decided to |
| 1359s | call it Untamed because we thought that |
| 1361s | fit well with him his not only the new |
| 1364s | content that we were delivering but his |
| 1365s | personality as well |
| 1367s | one of the characters that akos has the |
| 1369s | closest connection with is Feria who he |
| 1372s | is romantically involved with and the |
| 1375s | two of them met when Faria always the |
| 1378s | prankster was trying to prank a group of |
| 1380s | Bandits akos stepped in and apprehended |
| 1383s | these Bandits before Feria could |
| 1385s | complete her prank which for a while |
| 1387s | made her very very mad but because of |
| 1390s | the personality similarities between |
| 1392s | these two that they're very stubborn and |
| 1395s | don't like to be told what to do they do |
| 1397s | eventually find a kinship in each other |
| 1399s | and uh you know unite to stand up for |
| 1404s | what they believe is right because AKO |
| 1406s | served in the military with uishan |
| 1408s | battle has definitely formed a close |
| 1412s | friendship with the two of them so akos |
| 1415s | does respect joaishan but akos also |
| 1418s | fights for what he believes is right and |
| 1421s | UAE Sean has his allegiances to the |
| 1423s | Empire which are at odds with who akos |
| 1427s | has his allegiances with so the the real |
| 1430s | split between them is not so much a |
| 1434s | personal one as it is a political one |
| 1437s | whether there is more going on with |
| 1440s | acosa's ability to |
| 1443s | channel the Tiger Spirit and how that |
| 1445s | ties into the the greater naraka world |
| 1448s | let's just say there might be some |
| 1451s | interesting things there but I can't say |
| 1452s | anything more yet |
| 1454s | I think akos's greatest fear is actually |
| 1457s | a fear for his own people he made a |
| 1460s | choice that he was going to live his |
| 1462s | life for others so despite his kind of |
| 1464s | independent rebellious nature he does |
| 1466s | live in the service of people who need |
| 1469s | his help so I think his greatest fear is |
| 1471s | that something bad will befall the |
| 1474s | people that he has been tasked with |
| 1476s | protecting |
| 1478s | one of my favorite lines for acos which |
| 1481s | is uh something that Stephen our actor |
| 1484s | brought to this line that you know |
| 1487s | originally the the line was written |
| 1488s | where when akos wins a game he says I |
| 1491s | didn't even break a sweat I wrote that |
| 1493s | to be delivered very plainly like oh I |
| 1496s | didn't even break a sweat it wasn't even |
| 1497s | that hard but like I said Stephen are |
| 1500s | our voice actor brought so much |
| 1502s | personality to this character and |
| 1503s | decided to perform it in a way where |
| 1506s | akos was clearly out of breath and |
| 1508s | clearly uh the battle had been really |
| 1510s | hard for him he was like I didn't even |
| 1513s | break a sweat |
| 1515s | um which I thought was really fun and |
| 1516s | funny and also |
| 1518s | demonstrated akos's character really |
| 1521s | well because it's like even when this |
| 1523s | guy has had |
| 1525s | all this hardship happened to him he's |
| 1527s | going to stay positive and optimistic |
| 1529s | and pretend like nothing's wrong |
| 1532s | there's also another line which I |
| 1534s | thought was fun where when akos kills |
| 1536s | someone with a head shot uh he |
| 1538s | apologizes and says oh whoops That was |
| 1541s | supposed to be a warning shot which you |
| 1543s | know I thought was fun my performance is |
| 1545s | not as good as the voice actors but uh |
| 1548s | it's a it's a good line I would say the |
| 1551s | hardest part about riding acos was that |
| 1553s | because he has such a rich and complex |
| 1555s | backstory |
| 1557s | um |
| 1557s | me as the writer I have only a few |
| 1560s | little areas where I can actually convey |
| 1562s | that and so it was kind of trying to |
| 1565s | figure out what was going to be the most |
| 1567s | compelling part of acos from a voice |
| 1571s | over perspective that we could put into |
| 1573s | the game |
| 1575s | um and and let players experience |
| 1577s | ultimately we you know we decided to go |
| 1580s | uh focus in the direction of that he was |
| 1583s | this Reckless rebellious kind of wild |
| 1586s | spirit and make his lines funny uh and |
| 1590s | that you know that was our hope that |
| 1592s | that was going to be the most |
| 1593s | interesting uh entry in for this |
| 1596s | character who are used to playing other |
| 1598s | Heroes I think initially the draw of |
| 1601s | akos is going to be that he has some |
| 1603s | really cool new abilities but hopefully |
| 1606s | once they try out that player they come |
| 1610s | to enjoy the personality that we and you |
| 1613s | know the writers have put into it ecos |
| 1615s | was really intended to be a fun play for |
| 1617s | fun funny character |
| 1620s | and I hope that comes across and makes |
| 1624s | him endearing to the players who |
| 1626s | play as him |
