20s | can expect when it comes to reading the |
22s | blog in a few days time or if you're |
24s | watching this in the future to explain |
26s | how we're going to move forward from our |
27s | skill pitches blog so first of all let's |
30s | recap on where we are in the process |
32s | right now in December we asked whether |
34s | you wanted a new skill added to the game |
36s | and over 80 percent of you said yes |
38s | knowing that the overwhelming majority |
40s | wanted a new skill we ran a special poll |
43s | and Survey to help us understand what |
45s | type of new skill you want to see added |
48s | since then we've been working on top |
50s | level Concepts it's now late March and |
52s | we are so excited to share them with you |
54s | and we are so close we're now entering |
57s | the pitching stage which is where we'll |
59s | begin sharing a variety of new skill |
62s | Concepts based on your responses during |
65s | Community consultation as we mentioned |
67s | previously it's important to offer you |
69s | multiple designs rather than just one so |
71s | we'll need you to help us decide which |
74s | one we should take further now the skill |
76s | pitches blog is expected to launch on |
78s | the 27th of March so it really isn't |
81s | that long to wait you'll also see the |
83s | new skill Discord server become active |
84s | during this period as we start to use it |
87s | for direct feedback now remember the |
89s | pitches are top level concepts for what |
91s | the skills are and they won't include |
93s | intricate details like experience rates |
95s | or fleshed out rewards at the end of the |
98s | day we want to work with you during |
99s | refinement and Beyond to lock those |
101s | details in and we'll talk about how |
103s | we'll handle refinement in Greater |
105s | detail once we know what skill it is |
107s | that you've chosen to go forward a poll |
109s | will open in early April where you get |
111s | to decide which one concept we take |
113s | forward into the next stage and that's |
115s | where we'll start working with you to |
117s | refine some of the important details |
118s | necessary for us to be able to move into |
120s | the locking in stage now we know that |
122s | there is potential for you to like just |
124s | one or even all of the pitches we have |
125s | on offer and so we don't feel like we |
127s | can approach the refinement stage with a |
128s | simple yes no poll question instead |
131s | we're going to ask which skills you'd be |
133s | happy to see refined further and which |
135s | pitch was your favorite |
137s | from here we'll then use your votes to |
139s | determine which is the most popular |
141s | skill pitch and that's the one that will |
143s | then make it into refinement it's |
145s | important to remember that nothing is |
147s | locked in at this stage we can still go |
149s | back in the process if you feel that we |
151s | need to once a skill has been decided |
153s | for refinement we'll then be left with |
155s | the biggest question of them all should |
157s | it be added to the game |
159s | this will be the final stage of the |
161s | process and with it we'll come a poll |
163s | before the skill gets added and that's |
165s | where you can expect to see the typical |
166s | yes no options that you're used to |
168s | requiring a majority of at least 70 yes |
171s | votes in order to pass now is old school |
174s | runescape's first and only skill |
177s | you've certainly ignited conversations |
179s | all across socials about this question |
180s | but the truth is we don't know yet but |
184s | we do want to assure everyone that this |
186s | is not an All or Nothing vote there's |
189s | absolutely no reason why we can't poll |
191s | more skills in the future if that's what |
193s | the community wants so please don't let |
196s | this mentality influence your vote your |
198s | favorite skill might not make it this |
200s | round but that's not to say we won't be |
202s | able to develop it in the later on top |
204s | of that we'll do all we can to avoid |
206s | getting stuck in development limbo we |
208s | really want to avoid saying no to any |
210s | more skills and we hope you don't feel |
212s | the need to vote against a good idea out |
214s | of a fear that your favorite concept |
216s | won't ever make its way into Old School |
217s | we're all passionate Gamers here and |
220s | everyone especially people watching this |
222s | video understand how important something |
224s | like a new skill is so it's equally |
226s | important that we get this right and |
228s | people are going to have their favorites |
229s | and that's absolutely okay but let's try |
232s | our best to keep an open mind with all |
234s | that said I guess it's time to round off |
236s | by saying thank thank you for all your |
238s | responses during Community consultation |
240s | we asked and you certainly delivered |
242s | especially on our survey we had over 44 |
246s | 000 responses to the survey alone with |
249s | over a hundred and thirty thousand votes |
251s | on our poll we know this takes up your |
253s | valuable time but we promised that it |
255s | was no XP waste with such an amazing |
258s | Community behind us and an awesome team |
260s | of skilled and passionate developers we |
262s | feel safe knowing that the direction the |
264s | new skill is in will be in great hands |
266s | so a huge thank you for your |
268s | participation so far and we're really |
270s | looking forward to working with you even |
271s | further you can look forward to a whole |
273s | bunch of events including q and A's |
275s | discussions directly with developers in |
277s | our new skilled Discord server amas and |
