@Bewear1835 Thanks very much for sending this. We do get that players are passionate, and will wish to lash out when decisions don't go their way, though targeting individual staff doesn't necessarily make the difference. Cheers, and good night.
@TsuyoiOSRS We got the chance to plug those in for standard NPC loot, but not much else. We hope to get to do more of them for other kinds of chest and clues and PvP kills in future - perhaps with separate controls for that last one.
@assbeast666 I'm curious about what you're referring to throughout the years before OSRS even had clients supplying such features, and yes, if players want something, sometimes we'll get to try delivering it even if players currently get it from somewhere else.
@TrystianSwitch The team can and did give warnings, so it was flagged that the announcement would get "negativity". Though I'm not sure the decision-makers were aware how much negativity it'd be! Once the scale was better understood, the stance was agreed for changing as the team recommended.
@and_panels There isn't an automatic legal right to be able to make & distribute such things, however unfair you feel that to be, though I do regret that the decision about this one didn't get agreed for revealing to the developer until this week.
@MrManning12 So you really don't think anyone thought about offering improved graphics for OSRS in the years prior to that player's work? There are ample examples being quoted from years ago where we discussed it, even if we couldn't undertake it back then.
@RobertOfHannah A previous manager, who'd have been Mat K's boss when the two of them worked here, told me that he liked signing off newsposts from the OSRS team because he thought it'd make players trust the newspost more. I didn't really appreciate that approach.
@assbeast666 While we give advice when we have concerns about how players will take an announcement, it's a lot easier for a manager to see that our concerns are valid when they're backed up by thousands of real players like yesterday.
@assbeast666 There's certainly no shortage of things that players want to see done in the game, whether or not they're in a position to implement them themselves. I hadn't realised you considered us to be ripping off their ideas by granting such requests. And the sigil didn't pass.
@ThePdizz The robes have tended to be more desired than the rest of that minigame or its starting room, in discussions I've seen. Unless you specifically want them all for other reasons. We'd be able to do the tiara, maybe with a replacement RCing cape perk.
@supunsv Our art director would prefer players to be able to keep the old version as it is. Now, that doesn't rule out occasional redesigns of features like what we did to Hosidius and Shayzien - that kind of update would not be toggled if players vote for it to be done.
@Kloxified Yeah, I was thinking about the looting bag for it too :) Well, if we find that it's a problem on launch, we can go there, though most of the responses to this thread didn't seem to be confused so far.
@Martinezd1993 For account help you'd need the Support team - they're JagexSupport on this platform. If they declined your previous requests, it sounds like the info you sent wasn't as accurate or as sufficient as they'd needed.
@UberDoomDucky I see. I guess it's quite harsh, though this is intended to be a pretty long-term mode, and we'd prefer not to have substantial work-arounds for players to make it inappropriately easy via group-hopping.
@Simplayified Considering the direction of the game used to include 4 seasonal competitions per year, rather than the 2 we're working on (DMM + League) I'd hope that's not too much now. And Group Iron Man's been massively requested. But I hope we'll get to add what you want soon, too.
@nochangestv Yeah, I remember the various approaches. Just wondering whether your use-case would be massively hampered by having to log out and load a different piece of software whenever you wanted to switch.
@michaelj9323 @TrystianSwitch Cheers :) In fairness, I know I've sometimes raised concerns about the impact of a change that's turned out not to be such a big deal after all. And I'm not the only one. A manager may reasonably take the concern more seriously once it's backed up by thousands of real players!
@jni_not Tried something of the sort before, but yes, we'd be able to do a considerably longer version of it. Or possibly make it one of the few scenery pieces in the game that blocked you from using it if you were 'bound'.
@MvvsOSRS When the OSRS team just wants to post about in-game stuff like bugs, we get quite a lot of latitude to just go do it. When statements are being made about things with potential legal consequences, such as client work, it needs filtering by all kinds of managers plus Legal.
@Cameronj1398 My colleagues got quite strong outreach from players about changing the original plans for prestige. Makes things rather more complicated, but it seemed important to enough players that we're taking some time on it. I agree hard core's a bigger deal.
@GideonHazuki @chefwhamsy A lot of players have been really good about clarifying that when they send criticism, they mean the studio as a whole, rather than the individual person they're talking to. Others set out to be personal, maybe in the hope that it'll get them taken more seriously. (It doesn't.)
@BBQMasterDad1 If you disagree with those things being allowed, that's fair enough, and I look forward to an agreement being announced for what we'll do to the arena, but I'm afraid their existence doesn't mean it's a free-for-all for players to add more features without any limit.
@ThePureSeb A shorter countdown would be fine by me for Clan Wars, though we've been advised that it'd need a toggle if done. And the menu's getting a bit full, especially after I put the VLS on it :( More pressingly, there isn't another update where we could launch this much before finals.
