[2020] can someone explain to me why Jagex accept in game names like this with reporting doing nothing, yet I can't have the name Phoebe - according to a Jmod it has "hoe" in the middle of it, making it offensive?

Hey - it's not because 'Phoebe' is in itself offensive, but that the 'h-o-e-' string of letters means it didn't pass through the automatic chat filter we have in-game - rather than it being a manual choice. That's how I understood it, anyway.

We have updated the filter in recent times, so I'm not sure if this is still the case, but I can confirm the name above has been banned.

Can confirm that name has also been banned. The player is now 'unicorn0039' for the next year.

As far as I can see, Phoenix befalls the same fate. As do 'shoe' and 'Phoenician'.

Ironically, it's my cat's name too...
