34s bit of a while maybe we've got a few new
36s viewers since then maybe it's worthwhile
38s that as part of my usual how you doing
40s what you've been up to today uh if you
41s could also maybe tell people what you do
43s at old school within the team and we
45s start with uh with you marcos
49s yeah so i'm the executive producer in
50s the game so it means i'm broadly
52s responsible for the how the whole game
54s runs so i work very closely with moda
56s user and mud kiran in terms of on the
58s day-to-day things around kind of
60s kind of the updates we're working on the
61s community response and so on

134s design team which is all we which many

139s so we're responsible for designing most
142s of the game's features
143s and for me i'm thinking about the sort
144s of longer term view what we're doing
146s with the road map balance of the content
148s we offer and what we're trying to
150s achieve with the different things we add
152s to the game

160s week with some of the comm stuff that
161s we've been get getting out um let me
164s check is it an announcement oh it's it's
166s not in the announcements because it's so
167s fresh we didn't get to update it but we
170s uh today released the wilderness uh boss
172s rework blog for the first time since we
175s first spoke about it many many years ago
177s so fantastic to see that finally out the
179s doors and uh seems to be going pretty
181s well at least within the pvp community
183s so that's that's something we've hit the
184s mark there um but for me and what i do
187s in old school i'm the lead community
188s manager so i head up the community
190s management team uh being uh mods uh
193s light sani and goblin who are all
194s fantastic and uh we deal with all of
196s your kind of like feedback concerns
198s comments and such and
200s write the blogs and put some really um
202s interesting and questionable puns in
203s them at times too
206s all right before we kick things off
207s we've got a lot of duty questions today

322s right now that's out of the way let's
324s get into it we've got some questions now
325s the first section because it's so fresh
327s off the uh
329s uh
330s whatever it is is about fresh start
332s servers our fresh start worlds as we've
334s done them so we've got a couple around
335s that and then we'll move on to some more
337s general questions we'll also hopefully
338s cover issues around service stability as
341s well as the road map
342s room fest summer summit areas like that
345s and then if we have time we do also have
346s some questions around account security
348s as well
350s first question we have here is around
352s the why why are we implementing fresh
354s start servers who are they for and how
356s does it benefit the game and the player
358s base
359s now most of this should have hopefully
360s been covered in the faq but to reiterate
364s the why at least uh essentially we did
367s some research you may have seen a survey
368s that we put out and that indicated that
372s this type of fresh start service could
373s be quite appealing to those players
375s um and given the fact that they require
377s minimal dev time we just essentially
379s thought why don't we test out the theory
381s and see whether we're right or not
383s um in terms of the who i think this is a
385s really important one to cover uh it's
387s definitely a large topic of conversation
389s within the community
390s ultimately fresh start worlds they're
392s aimed at new players or players who
394s haven't been on old school for a very
396s long time
398s it's not intended to be content that
400s attracts you away from the main game if
402s you're currently playing the main game
404s i'm sure there are definitely going to
405s be draws to it some people will want to
407s fight for the high scores and just
408s experience that fresh start element
411s but it is ultimately aimed at people who
413s don't currently play don't currently
414s have existing accounts
417s and i think one of the things that's
418s really been overlooked is just
421s the power of having so many people at
423s the same stage of the game together
426s if you were to throw a long kind of like
429s lapsed and by that we mean someone who's
430s not played for a very long time a
432s returning player back into the current
433s game and they just met with heaps of
435s players who are high level they've got
437s so much gear
439s and they go to a an earlier area of the
442s game it's going to have so much less
443s activity
445s and fresh start worlds they offer an
446s opportunity for essentially like-minded
449s players
450s who are a very similar level of
451s experience and progression because
453s they'll all be starting again to play
455s together and experience that without the
457s interruption of much higher level
458s players i'm sure you've seen it before
460s you know there are people who will stand
462s out at lumbridge and it's lovely to see
463s but being handed out you know hundreds
465s of k's worth of gear to start off your
466s journey at day one when really it's
468s actually quite an open and uh
470s so many things that you can do in
472s runescape as it is it just adds extra
474s confusion at times
476s and in terms of the benefits
477s well new players come into the game it's
479s always a good thing right it helps us
481s also
482s identify any pain points better than we
485s are at the moment in the early stages of
486s progression because this is something
488s that would hopefully
491s cause a lot of new players to come into
492s the game at one moment as opposed to
494s them trickling in and their feedback
496s being lost so from a cm perspective
498s selfishly i'm hopeful that it will help
500s us identify that so that we can look to
502s improve on it for future new players
505s uh marcos or kieran if you wanted to add
506s anything to that at all i know we've got
507s a bunch more questions regarding it but
509s yeah feel free i can i could talk a
511s little bit more um my perspective i've
513s been reading a lot of obviously the
515s comments posted on reddit on social
517s media across the internet
519s um
520s and obviously i'll give a little insight
521s into sort of
523s my thinking on what we're trying to do
525s with old school's fresh start worlds and
529s i think one of the one of the issues
531s with i don't know what's happening to
532s your green screen i use it but it's
533s quite funny one of the issues dog is
536s asleep on it and it's fell down so what
541s if you're a new player
543s when is the point you want to join um
547s now obviously all of you have joined at
549s some point there's you can join any day
551s of the year
552s but
553s when you could think of other mmos
555s like
556s let's just use world of warcraft
558s as an example there's a very clear point
561s to join it's when the expansion has come
563s out you're not going to join world of
565s warcraft today you're going to join it
566s around the time the expansion comes out
569s um you're going to join alongside other
571s people world of warcraft get to sort of
573s reimagine how the sort of progression
576s through the game is is thought of
578s with old school it's very difficult to
581s create that really strong point in time
583s to say okay if you are interested in old
585s school
587s join now
588s you'll be surrounded by other people at
590s the same time part of a community and so
592s on
593s so the thinking is
595s creating a mode like fresh start where
597s you can temporarily be in a separate
600s server playing alongside other people
603s it's a good chance to do so so
606s i say this as we're looking primarily at
609s brand new people
610s and at people who maybe haven't played
613s for a long time or maybe played
614s runescape back in the day and want to
616s come back
617s today that's where i feel like it could
619s be it could be effective
621s now
622s that's yet to be proven out this is a
624s bit of an experiment in that regard and
626s we'll learn certainly across along the
628s way
630s primarily what i don't want to do is
631s actually move people from
634s maine old school to this
636s nor do i really want people to feel like
638s they want to create a second account to
640s play this that's not really what we we
642s intend to do with fresh start worlds at
644s all
644s and that's where i feel it is very
646s different to leagues
648s other game modes and so on
650s this is about trying to create something
652s that can be of interest to
655s new players
657s or
657s long long laps players so we'll see um
661s but that's why i think it's the way it
663s is in that
665s you'll come along you'll start this is
667s why starting a new account because it's
668s aimed at new people completely start on
670s that account that's why also why we want
672s to merge it into
674s maine eventually after six months so
676s that
677s this is your entry point it's a way to
679s get into the game and then stick around
681s and join the wider community at a point
683s of your choosing or after the six months
685s is up
686s but um
687s yeah it is it certainly it's been
691s it's
693s it's been a lot of reading and a lot of
694s thinking about the different different
696s points people have been making online um
698s and it's it's all stuff we're processing
701s and really trying to think of and
703s understand i mean we might touch on it
706s um later but obviously one of the
708s leading concerns is this point about the
709s economy things going into the economy
711s after six months these are things we
713s still need to really think a little bit
714s more about and really make sure that we
717s are okay with that happening we think
719s the economy will be good after that
721s change but
723s but yeah um
725s this doesn't really end in any specific
727s way i just wanted to put across my my
729s thoughts i'll pass back to you i use it
732s no i appreciate your thoughts thank you
734s karen i think it offered
735s a good level of insight at least
737s um next question um
740s so this one says additional game modes
742s can segment the old school
745s community whilst also taking up valuable
747s dev resources away from the game a fresh
749s start server is going to take up a lot
751s of dev resources from the main game and
753s our leadership concerned about the
755s number of game modes that are in old
756s school
759s maybe you want to take this one markos
762s yeah sure so
764s like fresh start service is a relatively
766s cheap update as kind of
767s here and said a moment ago
769s we don't expect to take up that much
770s resource it will be done relatively
772s quickly compared to kind of mostly
774s updates we do and as you would have seen
775s the designs relatively simple what we've
777s implemented
779s um
779s game modes themselves we generally see
781s as being they have like clear value in
783s the sense that they are
785s they give players an opportunity to
786s re-experience parts of the game in
788s different ways from what they've seen
789s before and um and things like leagues
791s are also quite good at creating like a
793s strong moment in time which kind of gets
795s people back into the game and encourages
796s them to try out again and so on
798s um but we do recognize there's a balance
800s to be had obviously we need to make sure
801s that we're
802s um while we do some game modes there
804s will always be content that's going to
805s the main game that people really like
806s and it's um
808s fun kind of engages them and so on
810s so
811s for 2022 overall we kind of had a league
813s in january and now we're
815s about to have the fresh start worlds in
817s october um so we've had the two kind of
819s modes there kind of book ending the year
821s more or less
822s um
823s we also obviously had had some
824s conversation before back and of course
826s speed running and stuff which is a kind
828s of game but very very different
829s experience i'd say um and in terms of
831s like what we want to do in the future i
833s think that we'll probably be looking at
834s a similar-ish balance we've got like a
836s provisional roadmap for 2023 that will
838s um over more detail in the future live
840s stream but we would probably be looking
842s to strike a similar balance where the
844s majority of the vast majority of the
845s updates were going into the main game
846s and there are maybe a couple of game
848s modes so it's the year
850s um and one of the things obviously we've
852s spoken about before um is obviously like
854s what we do with things like dead man in
855s the future as well we are
856s trying to think about what we can do to
858s kind of
859s refresh that a bit

871s should be a quick one how much of the
873s player survey that was run a few months
875s ago or runescape 3's plans or runescape
877s as i like to say um
880s how much did they
881s oh their plans to introduce fresh start
882s worlds influence your decision to
884s proceed with the idea of fresh start
886s servers for old school
889s i can answer that so
891s the um the idea has been kind of
894s floating around for a while there's been
895s some discussion on it even like
897s reasonable right over like the last year
898s or so i think
899s um so it's been an idea we've been kind
901s of discussing for a while and the um
904s obviously like we did look at the survey
905s results and we looked to kind of like
907s what responses were across like
908s different types of players and so on as
909s well
910s and we've also been talking to escape a
912s bit as they've been kind of developing
914s the ideas in parallel so
916s yes to kind of all those things i
917s suppose
920s all right great thank you uh probably
922s also a really quick answer to give to
923s this one but our fresh start world's a
926s complete replacement for leagues
929s no they're completely separate
933s okay and then to follow on from there
935s also leaves related uh when's the
938s league's four coming and can the players
939s have any information about it
942s so uh yeah mod kiara and i were
944s discussing this a bit earlier in fact
945s it's an ongoing discussion the theme we
947s would like to do another league we're
948s just we haven't set on on a design yet
950s so it might be something we reach out to
952s talk to players about the future
953s potentially
955s okay i'll i'll ask a question that just
958s prize a little bit more info in there is
960s it realistic to expect a league this
962s year or are we talking more next year
965s it will be 2023 yeah okay all right that
970s hopefully answers a lot of questions i
971s think players have been raising in the
972s past at least
974s um and next question then
976s why
977s do this is a big one so bear with me why
980s do players need a brand new account to
981s plan the fresh start worlds
983s typically players don't require no
985s accounts for other game modes like dead
986s man and leagues
988s is this a way to entice members to pay
990s for more subscriptions
997s yeah okay so
999s kind of tying into kind of what uh what
1001s kieran talked about earlier really so
1003s the fundamental kind of um audience we
1005s expect to be playing fresh start worlds
1007s are kind of long laps players and new
1009s players
1011s so um obviously the key thing is about
1013s creating a shared starting point and
1014s that means that realistically needs to
1015s be a new account kind of starting the
1017s experience from scratch
1018s um we don't really expect it to be a
1021s thing that currently uh highly active
1023s players will particularly be playing um
1025s like obviously there is a free to play
1027s part of it so you can go and experience
1029s it if you want to just generally see
1030s what it's like but it wasn't really a um
1032s it was never in our mind to try and
1033s encourage people to kind of get extra
1035s subscriptions to play anything we
1036s thought the target audience is very much
1038s people that don't currently play the
1039s game
1042s okay that makes sense kieran do you have
1044s anything else to that you want to add on
1046s yeah just to add to it i mean one of the
1048s key things we wanted to do with this was
1051s as i say it's a good chance to start an
1053s account it's like it's a good point in
1055s time to join the game first time and
1057s then stick around and play for the long
1059s run
1060s now
1061s that meant we wanted to bring your
1062s account into
1064s you know main old school after six
1066s months
1067s and
1068s if we didn't do it on a separate account
1072s we opened up ourselves to a problem
1074s because
1075s if you already have a main account save
1077s we would need to introduce a whole much
1080s more complex long development cost to
1083s create like a proper sort of character
1084s selection system because you would have
1086s two main accounts essentially
1089s that is not something we can reason
1090s reasonably actually do
1093s we're not trying to get people to double
1095s dip here that generally genuinely that's
1097s kind of the point i'm trying to make is
1099s that this is about people coming back
1101s people joining the game for the first
1102s time
1104s it's inevitable some of you are probably
1106s going to be interested in want to play
1107s this and enjoy that experience
1110s um but genuinely this is about new
1112s people coming to the game
1114s and people
1115s long time returning but we have
1118s currently we don't really have a strong
1120s technical solution to allow you to
1121s choose between multiple accounts
1124s on
1125s on main the way it works for like
1127s leagues is quite different that's not
1128s trying to play in the same game mode
1137s thank you kieran that makes sense i
1139s think maybe that's something that we uh
1142s well we haven't actually mentioned the
1144s full announcement as of yet right we've
1146s only really kind of like
1147s came alongside runescape's announcement
1149s and and gave an faq to give some
1151s insights into what we felt were going to
1152s be the the big hot topic questions that
1154s were being asked we are still yet to put
1156s out the full details and uh i think it's
1158s probably very worthwhile there that we
1159s actually go into a bit more detail
1161s around the technicalities of why it's a
1163s new account versus migrating and what
1165s that would have meant in terms of change
1167s um because i do think there is a
1169s significant difference in the sounds of
1171s it you know being had to have two
1172s accounts running simultaneously and what
1174s is the main game because i assume you
1176s know that's how we're able to do this
1177s load development cost it's just another
1179s version of old school that runs
1181s simultaneously and gets updated in the
1183s same way so on so forth versus as you
1185s say yeah two accounts running or even
1187s having to merge experience and items
1189s over to an existing character
1191s especially when we have limited tools at
1193s the moment when it comes to items and
1195s player profiles um
1197s but yeah we'll take that one on and um
1199s hopefully be able to explain a little
1200s bit more at least if that's something
1202s that you're interested in
1204s next question uh and this is in regards
1207s to our approach to fresh start worlds um
1210s why did we decide to implement them
1212s without polling how the current
1214s community feels about it
1219s um one
1221s yep um so
1223s this is essentially following a
1224s precedent so historically when we
1226s introduced kind of um new modes like
1228s this as much to understand it the
1230s typically we um hold the rewards rather
1232s than the mode itself
1234s and because there's no rewards attached
1235s to fresh start worlds because like uh
1237s bodies are just saying it is essentially
1239s a parallel like facsimile of the main
1241s gain um
1243s we didn't think it'd be appropriate to
1244s pull it in this case
1248s okay thank you for the answer
1249s um oh another big topic here in regards
1252s to the economy
1254s how is this going to affect the economy
1256s once fresh start worlds is over and all
1258s the accounts are migrated over to the
1260s main servers is it something that's been
1261s taken into consideration
1265s you like yourself certainly something we
1267s need to think about
1269s i'll take this mark if that's all right
1271s um
1273s yeah it's it's essentially it's
1274s something we'll have to keep an eye on
1276s um it's gonna be quite a unique effect
1278s we've never you know had a situation
1281s where like a six month old set of
1283s accounts have come in at once
1285s now
1286s i don't think it's true that if all
1288s those six months old accounts are gonna
1289s log on and jump everything on the ground
1291s exchange but that's not to say it won't
1293s make an impact
1295s now something people have said and
1296s talked about is that when you're playing
1298s on a fresh start the g is gonna have
1300s nothing um it's gonna be a harder
1302s environment and playing on
1305s the main server the difference is you'll
1307s be part of a community with like-minded
1309s people and that's a unique experience in
1310s itself
1312s but um
1313s essentially in those first six months
1315s it's going to be primarily low level
1316s items rather than high-end equipment
1318s like twisted boats not to say there
1320s wouldn't be any
1321s but generally the feeling i have
1324s roughly looking at those kind of
1326s you know those that kind of content the
1328s kind of stuff that's gonna come in is
1329s that it's gonna be a drop in the ocean
1332s is
1332s it's my general expectation but when you
1335s do more research on it and really
1337s confirm that you know as especially as
1339s they as the servers go how popular they
1342s are how many people are playing it
1344s that's how we're going to be able to
1345s make an assessment but right now all we
1347s can do is estimate how many people will
1349s play and so it's hard to get a good
1351s gauge on it
1355s great thank you there's anything you
1356s wanted to add to that marcos or should
1358s we move on
1361s uh yeah kieran's answer that really well
1363s i think
1364s all right fantastic sorry i'll just
1366s check on these last few questions just
1367s to make sure but uh this is the last one
1369s that we have regarding fresh start
1370s worlds and this one ties more towards
1372s our existing player base
1374s i think it's quite clear that fresh
1375s start worlds with you know we've said
1377s they're not intended to provide a new
1378s experience to the existing player base
1381s have we maybe considered releasing 2011
1384s scape or
1385s a much earlier even even bringing back
1388s runescape classic instead of fresh start
1390s worlds to provide a new and unique
1391s experience to play us
1394s yeah we've looked at um we've yeah we've
1397s looked at lots of options of similar
1398s things to this so
1400s generally
1402s these kind of updates they sound
1404s straightforward but actually they're
1405s really complicated it's generally what i
1406s found
1407s so in many of these cases they um
1410s they're interesting ideas but they're
1411s very very complicated and expensive to
1413s do like they're quite significant
1414s projects so it'll take a long time to
1415s deliver to the standard we think they
1417s need to be
1418s so i wouldn't i say never say never in
1420s these things obviously you could revisit
1422s them in the future but at the moment
1423s they're not something we expect to be
1424s doing
1427s okay
1428s that makes sense thank you mark all
1430s right we'll move on to server stability
1433s you can hear more about fresh start
1434s worlds uh in the near future when we
1436s have our full announcement but if you do
1437s have any kind of like burning questions
1439s that you felt haven't been asked
1440s answered uh
1441s reach out to us on our usual platforms
1443s and we'll do our best to try and get
1445s back to you on those
1446s uh in terms of serviceability though
1448s first question here
1449s and apologies it's a bit of a long one
1451s so i'll try my best to read proficiently
1454s what can you do to improve the current
1455s server quality and stability
1457s there are slow logins
1459s slash hop in on worlds world lag is
1462s reported after 400 or so people are in
1464s one world and the 222 total world in
1467s general has uh you know pretty common uh
1471s reports of lag when the servers become
1474s highly populated especially and when
1475s players do activities that are more
1477s server intensive servers seem to run
1479s poorly which
1481s in end causes issues
1484s now i know that we've had a response
1485s from one of our tech team um mark
1488s russell kieran do you want to take it or
1489s join me to
1491s go for it i can talk through it
1493s something i've been thinking about
1494s talking to others about this week as
1495s well
1496s um
1497s so essentially we're actively looking to
1500s improve
1500s all aspects of game performance this is
1502s something that you know comes up every
1504s single week we're talking about it it's
1506s stuff that we're constantly sort of
1507s monitoring and trying to make little
1509s tweaks trying to make find the fixes
1511s that we can address because it's
1512s generally it's not just one thing it's
1514s multiple different things
1516s um this ranges from optimizing and
1518s improving the game server even just the
1520s content logic where it's not written
1522s optimally and to refreshing migrating
1525s the game worlds themselves
1527s this is always happening
1528s but it's also it's delicate intricate
1531s it's it's not straightforward work we're
1533s also in the process of refreshing much
1535s of our actual hardware
1538s and we're constantly reviewing much of
1539s our tech stack so
1542s as i say it's kind of all the things at
1544s once and everything will contribute to
1546s hopefully better game world performance
1548s um there's various different causes
1551s of this i mean people allude to it
1553s allude to like 400 population sometimes
1556s it's slow hopping sometimes it's it's a
1559s lot of the um total level worlds like
1560s the 2200 worlds experience a lot of lag
1563s most of these are actually different
1564s causes and we're having to sort of
1566s investigate
1567s add different telemetry and really try
1569s and understand what are the primary
1571s causes so we can uh
1573s make changes and try and and try and fix
1575s some of these things
1577s um but yeah it's
1579s it's not it's not straightforward
1581s but hopefully we can start to improve it
1584s and indeed we already have made changes
1585s and we've seen improvements even there
1588s it's just that we haven't tackled all of
1590s the problems
1593s great thank you karen by the sounds of
1594s it simply downloading more ram is not
1597s going to help in this instance

1743s anything malicious or anything it was
1744s more just a native bug in the
1747s architecture so we've kind of identified
1749s that and um we're kind of like fixing it

1759s have reached out to various players
1762s that had reported that they'd lost items

1815s talking about doing a summer summit type

1819s planning at the moment

1824s of events like how regularly we do them
1825s and things as well so um maybe they're a
1827s bit more regular than before
1829s and then for the roadmap yeah we'll
1830s begin to unveil that with the with the
1832s events and try to kind of progressively
1834s update players a bit better in terms of
1835s what's coming in the future

2065s the releases for that they ended up
2066s having to be helping out with some other

2072s originally planned um and then also
2074s their dev team's been a bit smaller than
2076s previous years so we're looking to try
2078s and bring back an extra dev into that
2079s team to help them release the
2081s updates for the next problem quickly

2090s it's also just one thing that's worth
2091s just uh iterating is that um whilst this
2094s is uh an excuse because it is we should
2097s have been uh able to identify it much
2098s sooner on when it came to polling

2106s bigger than we first anticipated when we
2108s were scoping them out and agreeing to
2109s put them in forward for the poll because
2112s you know the poll 70 or poll numbers the
2115s qual polls or game improvement polls
2117s that we do they are meant to typically
2118s be the smaller faster
2120s changes that we can turn around on a
2122s consistent basis you get them you know
2124s trickled out throughout the weeks over
2125s the course of other content pieces

2128s and we just missed the mark so i think
2131s some of them especially in you know the
2133s sense of like poison dynamite um
2136s i can't remember the the hit splats i
2137s think touched on so much combat code
2139s maybe there's something you can talk to
2141s about that one kieran but uh from what i
2143s understand it ended up going on a lot
2145s longer than we had originally planned so
2147s yeah while still an excuse that is
2149s partly the reason as well why things
2150s took a lot longer so um something that
2152s we'll be more mindful of with poll 77

2159s been more of a pain than expected is the
2161s clan hall
2162s the clan hall um drop stuff
2165s got what's it called the chest the drop

2168s the drop party feature for the clown
2170s halls yeah that's proved a lot more

2174s some of these have taken a lot longer
2175s we've had a couple of people leave as
2177s well um so it's as much as it's excuses
2181s i'm i'd like to be transparent and also
2184s talk more about when this sort of thing

2186s and be smarter with how we size pause
2188s the future as well so that we have more
2191s regular pulls even if going out even if
2192s they're a bit smaller too

2198s much smaller but more consistent poles

2212s what are our future plans with deadman
2214s mode and bounty hunter i know you
2216s touched briefly on dead man before

2222s especially i know is a hot topic within
2224s pvp at the moment
2226s yeah so generally with the pvp schedule
2228s for next year we're currently looking at
2230s um obviously it was the server that went
2231s out recently and we've been doing our
2232s own kind of analysis of kind of activity
2234s in the game and so on so we're looking
2236s to build our roadmap for pvp content
2238s next year generally um we have like a
2240s short list of ideas so dead man mode
2243s is something that we think is um
2245s obviously like valuable to the players
2247s and
2248s the um evp community is really keen on
2250s so we would like to revisit that
2252s although we recognize we need to
2253s probably make some changes because as
2254s i'm trying to avoid some of the issues
2256s we've had before and then bounty hunter
2258s is also something we have looked at
2259s obviously it's a complicated update to
2261s do well um
2263s so we're looking at that along with a
2264s few different other ideas around what we
2266s could possibly do in pvp
2272s just started sticking with pvp i just
2273s added the um we really haven't had the
2275s lms update's gone
2277s that's been out a little while now and
2279s it's really been interesting to see
2280s people's choices on like which mode
2282s they're they like to play maybe we
2284s should give out some data soon eyes on
2286s the what we got the other day because i
2287s think it's actually really interesting

2295s pleasantly surprised to see it but uh

2312s is this project taken a longer

2438s and what changes might be upcoming on

2442s yeah so we did a vlog a lot last week
2447s yeah what's around it was very recent
2448s yeah um
2450s and we've done a couple of iterations of
2451s that blog as well talking about the um
2454s the ui for mobile
2456s so
2458s problem number one
2460s people love all the rune light features
2462s right but so many of you use rune light
2463s on desktop
2464s you cannot use red light on mobile
2466s we want to to let you have those ex
2469s better experience and so we spent a lot
2471s of time working on those features
2473s bringing a lot of them over to that
2475s client so you'll already notice if you
2477s go on mobile a lot of those features are
2479s in place and it really does make a huge
2481s difference
2483s because of that we've also spent some
2484s time looking at
2486s other related mobile improvements like
2488s haptic feedback so you know you
2491s you hold down a right click on something
2493s and you get that little buzz under your
2495s finger so you know exactly when it comes
2497s up it feels really satisfying it's a big
2499s difference we've improved the response
2501s time how long it takes to right click as
2503s well
2504s but some of these features are going to
2506s need
2508s interactive elements added to the
2510s interface whether it's showing you
2512s helpful advice
2513s whether it's um being able to highlight
2516s tiles and having a method to implement
2518s that so we needed to look at how the
2520s interface is laid out on mobile so that
2523s we could create a bit more space for
2524s that
2525s and also try and make some improvements
2527s at the same time so that's what we've
2530s we've been doing and that's the contents
2531s of very much of that vlog talking about
2533s the ui but safe to say i think mobile
2536s is already a drastic
2539s improvement over what the mobile
2540s experience was last year and we expect
2542s it to further improve with every new
2545s drop of these client features that we
2547s had over the coming months

2592s being banned on reddit and then being
2593s smacked down by

2603s out there don't uh don't use clients
2605s that aren't on our approved list and if
2606s you need a reminder of those that is the
2608s steam client the java client um

2615s load it through the jagex launcher you

2618s and if you use any other clients then
2620s you do risk being banned more than one
2622s offense it leads to a perma-ban so yeah
