Hi Ayiza,
Thank you for commenting and keeping a close eye on this thread.
- " The cost to entry is high, but we'd rather propose something too high and scale it back based on feedback rather than the other way around. Open to your suggestions here on what seems fitting."
The main issue regarding this (for ironmen accounts), is that raw GP is a precious commodity almost brought into the game solely through high-alching. Because of this, Ironmen must often ration their gold toward valuable/necessary skills (like mage/construction), and simply cannot afford a cost such as this, nor can we liquidate items for raw GP in order to do so.
If there is a desire to maintain a GP cost for ironmen, please either reduce the cost considerably (to 25-50k at the most), or have the fee be instead removed from deaths coffer, where we can get GE value for additional/duplicate items in some form.
- "Lots of talk around removing the Ecumenical key requirement. We hear you. I assume even with the increased drop rate as you complete the tiers you still think its too much?"
Absolutely. Ecumenical keys not only exclude two game modes almost entirely; UiM and HCIM (without considerable risk), but likewise simply re-balances where crashing takes place; Ironmen can still easily be crashed while farming Ecumenical keys if a main desires the world.
Additionally, if there is a reduced/removed cost outside of the key (making instances more accessible to mains), the competition for key-farming worlds will only increase, and will thus simply front-load the same crashing culture into another stage of GWD (While collecting keys, instead of while fighting the boss itself).
I honestly think the Ecumenical key requirement is the most dangerous and exclusive component of this proposal (outside of the extreme/excessive GP requirement for irons).
Thank you for your time, and we all appreciate your presence and voice in this discussion.
