Battlemage numbers

I Know its not yet the time for powerpoint builds but please tell me I'm wrong now before I theorycraft the sh*t out of inquisitor ascendancy. can I actually get my fireball to deal 2055-3083 base damage. Thats almost double base damage and the staff is actually a good item. Is this how battlemage will work?
