TL;DR: I think an ARG for the next update is starting and I created a discord for people who want to string the lore together.

The spark

There's no denying that the devs put out a lot of hints for the next big update, however, I get the feeling that we can find out more than just the latest building picture or trailer. Indeed, we saw u/AlleciaDawn and her RP lore post but you can quickly see that this is more than just lore hints by checking her Reddit profile, the account was created a month ago and she posted on r/test 2 hours after posting on r/planetside. Her post there is RP about Planetside in a subreddit completely unrelated.

Initial clues

Now I wonder what screams ARG more than a lore hint very trivially hidden to engage people in looking for more hidden things. In the first post of u/AlleciaDawn, more than 2 weeks ago, she talks about a "Henry" she loved and he seemingly did things to her ("attunement"). In the recent post on r/test, we have a log where someone is directly talking to a "Briggs" during what seems like to be an experiment. Because of this I started reading the known lore and very quickly, you can hear about "Henry Briggs", he's a main character of the lore as he's the reason why VS was created.

Anyway, I have a lot of ideas on what could be happening in the lore and we really need to search for more and string this together as I have found things that do not match with the lore and want other people's ideas about it, also shuttle number in both recent posts of u/AlleciaDawn seems to be really big for no real story telling purpose, "Shuttle G47" or something like that would not have changed the story. I've created a discord to help us regroup everything and start from there. If this is the start of an ARG, any image or trailer could hide hints in dozens of way so I doubt I'll be able to get really far alone and I invite you to come with me in this deep dive in lore.

Doubt

If you still doubt that this could be an ARG, look at it this way, DB is having a big launch soon and it seems to expand on the lore, what better way to hipe this than making people look in the lore and get involved in the story with an ARG and it helps getting closer to the community as it entirely rely on it to regroup and think about what's happening. Moreover, ARG for big updates in games isnt unheard of, from the top of my head, Overwatch did a big one for a new character, Sombra and Runescape 3 for an expansion, Menaphos, it doesnt seems far stretched for me that we could be having one, they have been releasing a lot of hints about this update and the next level simply is hints leading to more hints, an ARG. Finally, I dont see any other reason than that for u/AlleciaDawn's post in r/test unless it's just someone joking. But how many people know about the lore enough to name Henry Briggs in the community ? Lastly, u/AlleciaDawn's says in her most recent post that her last transmission was "unproductive", hinting for me that no one picked up on the clues from that post so they're coming back to spark the search.

Now I know it's not something for everyone and I dont hope to get a lot of people joining the discord as the community isnt this large and the game has not really built a community around lore but I'm sure learning about more lore could be fun.
