Im not sure if this is a bug or intentional because the only change made regarding 'region switching' was the merging of ranks (great changed btw)

Problem is you cannot change data centres anymore which comes with a few issues.

Mainly queue times at certain times for some regions (mainly EU) at certain times of the day.

However, because the data centre is defaulted to 'ping based' many users who might in one region (lets say France or UK) could have bad internet and have high ping as biproduct of that bad connection but they might be placed in a non EU region depending on the 'ping' and could untintentionally have greater server lag than what there ping would 'allow for' even.

So can we please get this resolved because its kinda annoying having high ping at times and being placed in regions completely separate to my own when I should be allowed to 'force my region'

Hey there!

You can still change data centers, the process was just updated a bit for the new season. We recently updated the 'Selecting Data Centers" FAQ with the new steps, so feel free to follow this link and change your data center to the one you normally play on.

There seems to be a disconnect between yourselves and the support area though, especially since they were asking for IPs/Tracerts etc as seen in this thread:

Are you able to provide feedback to whoever oversees it, as bits like this are a miscommunication between teams which shouldn't happen.
Hey Dan! There was a similar issue going on at the same time while the team was checking on recent changes to the data center process. Nevertheless, the updated FAQ has been shared with the support team!

Hey Dan. I actually doubled check and there is also an ongoing issue where players are not being connected to their correct datacenter, despite changing it with the ini file. This is why the support team was asking for tracerts. Apologies for the confusion!
