I have fixed this issue 2 times now, is there any way to permanently fix this issue. I feel frustrated that I have deleted this game and re-installed it. I have already used the default method of fixing this problem, is there another alternative?

Hey there,

Sorry to see you're having this issue!

As a workaround, it may be an issue with your save. Deleting your save only removes loadout settings. Progress, rank, etc. won't be affected.

Please give these steps a try;

- Make sure Uplay is completely exited out, which can include exiting from your system tray if you opted to have Uplay run in the background when pressing the window X
-Go to the save game folder below and delete it after making a backup:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\\635 (Uplay)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\\1843 (Steam)

-Open Uplay as administrator, then disable the overlay and cloud save
- Launch Siege, modify an operator's loadout, and play a situation, to ensure a good save.
- exit the game, re-enable cloud saves and the overlay and restart Uplay
- When the game starts back up, you will get a message about which save to use. Make sure to select the local save, not the cloud game save. Uplay will then update with the local save.

Please let us know if your issue continues following this workaround!

Thanks for your response there BARAFURRYPORN.

So just to check, after you do the proposed workaround your issue is temporarily resolved however after some period it reappears again, is that right? If so, did you notice anything in particular prior to it happening that may be causing it to reoccur?

If you do happen to have any information that may be useful, let us know and we will make sure it's forwarded accordingly.

Thanks for your response there.

In terms of the files you've quoted, are these the ones you have in your savegames folder?

Also, can you possibly get back to us with the answers for questions I had there earlier?

Can I just check that you always launch your game with administrator rights?

I think the key here is we need to identify exactly what causes this to reoccur.

Can I check what method you use to close the game when you are finished?

Many thanks in advance

Fantastic!

We would indeed recommend running the game and Ubisoft connect with Administrator rights. The reason for this is it ensures you can 'write' data rather than just read. By writing data this is in effect saving and so may actually explain what is causing this to reoccur. At this stage I would suggest trying running this way. If the problem happens again we can then investigate other avenue's further

Hey BARAFURRYPORN,

Sorry to see the issue is still ongoing for you.

Just to check are you solely using the game via Ubisoft Connect? Or did you buy the game from Steam and it is also using Ubisoft Connect to launch?

It cant harm to uninstall the game completely, then reinstall the game and also verify the games files after a reinstallation.

To verify files after reinstallation in Ubisoft Connect please see this article -

To verify files in Steam, please see this article -
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...2037-QEUH-3335

When you said you previously did not have this issue when running as administrator, did you temporarily set this up by right clicking on the file and selecting 'run as administrator' or did you set it up permanently by selecting it through the files Properties options?

I would advise doing this for both the Siege games .exe file and for Ubisoft Connects .exe file.

The Ubisoft Connects executable .exe file is located here by default - C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\

- Right click on the file and select 'Properties'
- Select the 'Compatibility' tab
- Check the 'Run as Administrator box'
- Click 'Apply' then 'OK'

Please do this for Steams .exe file if you use it, as well as the Rainbow Six Siege .exe file. Let me know what happens next after testing this out?
