Just a little bit of background before my complaining, I used to run in Gears pro-scrims with members of Echo Fox and even won the very first tournament that the Coalition had ever sponsored when they first took over the mantle for the Gears series (Guts in the Box).

Let me start off by saying I FULLY support this game and I want it to thrive due to not having many other TPS games out on the market.

In order for this game to be perfect to me in my opinion, it has to lean harder on creating a higher skill ceiling through small little changes.

I’d like to see:

• A small increase in movement speed while ADSing and rolling. The movement in this game feels very rigid and it’s easily predictable. It needs its own little movement quirks to separate decent players from great players like wall bouncing does in Gears. My proposition to alleviate this rigidness and add more depth to the movement is to scale movement speed with whatever weapon you have in your hand a la Counter Strike, and having a more elevated bunny hop after the roll animation would feel very sharp to me too.

• The TTK overall and bleed out time when downed could be a good amount longer, a lot of times you can down players before they have a chance to even roll to cover. With a longer TTK, it would incentivize teamplay by making cross-firing and positioning a priority. With increased health and a longer bleed out time, it introduces the dynamic of sustaining gunfights versus rolling back and trying to heal your teammate. This game really doesn’t have that push vs. pull feel to me, and it feels more like a game of players trying to act like Rambo versus being a team oriented game.

• The character needs to be more “tucked in” during the ADS stance. I’ve had really weird situations when I’d lefty flip and it seems like the enemy is shooting some sort of weird extended hit box versus the actual player model itself. The automatic leveling to shoot over cover while crouching in ADS feels off a lot of times too, it feels like it gets obstructed at weird angles way too many times IMO.

Hi-Rez, I will give you props though for dealing pretty well with corner glitching for the most part. Both stances are very hard to cheese through corners with, and everyone that has played Gears knows that corner glitching is one of the most annoying things to deal with. For anyone that doesn’t know what corner glitching is, it’s manipulation of the third person camera that allows you to shoot at an angle around a corner where your enemy really can’t see you at all.

Honestly, I'd probably say leave it as it is. The only thing they need to add to this game is obviously punishment for leaving games early. And something to log into for, besides fun gameplay I.e. weekly updates, battle pass, challenges for certain characters, a fully fledged deep and expansive leveling system..

If you haven't seen the Roadmap you can see this will be coming pretty soon: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EdjId4qWsAEzbed?format=png&name=large

In terms of bleedout the team is currently discussing a change to making that longer for Strikeout.
