honestly, the past few months have been pretty sh*tty from a PR standpoint for jagex and for reasons that are prettymuch out of Mod Doom's control, yet he has to bare the brunt of it on the communication front. i can only imagine what this might be doing for his mental health, especially since he is relatively new to the company (only a couple months into a 20+ year old company) and to join the company only to watch the entire community a couple months later spend months brandishing their pitchforks and torches....it must be so disheartening.

a lot of the time it feels like there is complete silence from everyone from jagex, including mod doom, but this tells me there is probably a company policy against saying things until an official company statement has been made. im sure there is a boat load of comments he wishes he could personally make but he is simply not allowed to.

meanwhile, every single time i or some else suggests some sort of change to be made to the game, if he sees it, he is ready and willing to hop in and have a discussion about it. he is friendly and open minded about these sorts discussions. ive lost track of how many times he jumps right into a topic that he might not know much about (due to not realy playing the game before employment) and starts asking questions to get an idea of whats happening, why its a pain-point, and discuss what can be done about it.

now thankfully i havent realy seem much in the way of anger towards mod doom himself. it mostly tends to be aimed at the company as a whole, which from the consumer's point of view, usually translates into the big wigs at the top and the investors. but either way, i think this man deserves some praise for how well he has been handling this whole situation. i hope this whole thing doesnt end up chasing Mod Doom away from the company, as he has been great leading up to it

This is a very lovely post to read, after a very intense few weeks... months? How long have I been here? What year is it?! But I'm extremely grateful for the kind, considerate, open-minded and constructive responses I get from the community here, and everywhere else too! I love being able to approach every conversation knowing that I have a lot to learn, and feel like I come away from (almost all) conversations better for having them.

I'm not going to take the credit for this, though - u/JagexAzanna and u/JagexHooli are excellent CMs and their experience and wisdom are invaluable. The whole rest of the RuneScape team are so open to feedback and willing to hear what I'm saying that it makes the job so much easier, and more rewarding.

Some days, I must admit, it does feel like I'm in the middle of a churning sea of people and I'm yelling hoping to get heard, but when the whole team moves together, it feels incredible. There are so many talented JMods I get to speak to every day, and their love for this game comes through in everything they get to do. I apologise if I'm ever not responsive, but it doesn't mean that I don't see the posts and comments you all collectively make. I wish I could respond to each and every one, but some of the replies might land me in hot water so I try and keep it to what I can respond to!

I'm about to take 2 weeks of leave to deal with some personal stuff, so I'm leaving you in capable hands, but I really appreciate this post - and trust me, I'm not ignoring people's comments for the next few weeks, ok?! I promise. Have a lovely rest of your week, Nex.
