honestly, the past few months have been pretty sh*tty from a PR standpoint for jagex and for reasons that are prettymuch out of Mod Doom's control, yet he has to bare the brunt of it on the communication front. i can only imagine what this might be doing for his mental health, especially since he is relatively new to the company (only a couple months into a 20+ year old company) and to join the company only to watch the entire community a couple months later spend months brandishing their pitchforks and torches....it must be so disheartening.
a lot of the time it feels like there is complete silence from everyone from jagex, including mod doom, but this tells me there is probably a company policy against saying things until an official company statement has been made. im sure there is a boat load of comments he wishes he could personally make but he is simply not allowed to.
meanwhile, every single time i or some else suggests some sort of change to be made to the game, if he sees it, he is ready and willing to hop in and have a discussion about it. he is friendly and open minded about these sorts discussions. ive lost track of how many times he jumps right into a topic that he might not know much about (due to not realy playing the game before employment) and starts asking questions to get an idea of whats happening, why its a pain-point, and discuss what can be done about it.
now thankfully i havent realy seem much in the way of anger towards mod doom himself. it mostly tends to be aimed at the company as a whole, which from the consumer's point of view, usually translates into the big wigs at the top and the investors. but either way, i think this man deserves some praise for how well he has been handling this whole situation. i hope this whole thing doesnt end up chasing Mod Doom away from the company, as he has been great leading up to it
