Before necromancy release mobs used to hit like wet noodles. I understand why we wanted to make them a bit more threatening but I definitely think some mobs were wayyyyy too overtuned especially when considering their levels.

I got a Grotworm task and decided to kill the level 63s. They are hitting for 1k+ per hit consistently. This is insane. I have 7500 hp. Even when using protection prayers fulltime and using devotion on cooldown I'm getting wrecked and this isn't fun. They are level SIXTY-THREE. I'm level 105!

Decided to train at ghouls (level 64) like I used to before necromancy to gain some levels and to hopefully kill stuff faster so I don't get wrecked as much. The ghouls now also hit 1k+. WHY. I bring a super set, and the best food I can for my level, use the level 70 prayer + protect from melee + devotion and I have to leave after 4-5 minutes because I'm completely out. Don't get me started on the combat xp nerf that greatly hurt lower level players to get out of said low levels.

You need to change this. These random low level monsters are hitting about as hard as bosses! Seriously, giant mole, chaos elemental or barrows hit about as hard as a random level 60something trash mob.

Hey - I'm happy to forward this feedback onto the team.
Mod Sponge and I chatted about this a little bit (but he's on holiday atm) so we'd love to take a look into this. Can I grab your RSN, and which mobs you've been having issues with? You've mentioned Grotworms and Ghouls, anything else? Can I also check what gear and levels you're using? Just want to make sure I'm giving the team all the info so they can get a clearer picture. Thanks so much in advance!

I'd like to bring up a post from a month back that didn't get as much traction since it had some nice comparison data

https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/15m9jra/midlevel_monster_rebalancing_is_incredibly/

I'll ask the same thing there, then. More info is always helpful. Thanks!

I am deeply concerned about the ramifications of these changes on free-to-play combat and the potential negative impact they may have on new players. While I understand that the free game serves as a taste of the full RuneScape experience, it is crucial to recognize that it is in the free-to-play version where most players embark on their RuneScape journey.

While making slight adjustments to monster stats might offer some improvement, I remain skeptical about whether this alone will lead to a sustainable solution. The current system appears to heavily prioritize reducing XP rates for higher level players, inadvertently overlooking the challenges faced by low level players and those with subpar gear for their level.

It is imperative that we consider the overall balance and accessibility of the free-to-play combat experience, ensuring that all players, regardless of their level or equipment, have an enjoyable and fair gameplay experience.

Can't say I disagree with any of that - I think we can all agree that it's inadvisable to get into combat with underlevelled gear, that's a recipe for disaster not just in RuneScape but in general, but that's only a part of the equation.

The jungle spiders near tai bwo wannai hit up to 1k when everything else in the area hits much lower. It's especially noticeable if you're doing the tai bwo cleanup, where you lose a LOT of health if a jungle spider pops out of the bush.

My fear of spiders validated yet again!
