Absolutely bonkers that Jagex expects a player with base 80 stats to complete the Nex portion of this task. To put it alongside QBD too? What? The previous task made sense and was manageable, and so is QBD, but Nex?
I have been struggling with Nex’s blood phase for about an hour now with no real progress. The DPS check is just insane. I have maxed combat stats other than my 80 necro, and I have the tier 70 power armor equipped with the tier 70 weapons. There’s no way that I can put down enough damage without being absolutely god-tier like Evil Lucario.
I am a pretty serious PVMer though, and I have multiple solo kills on most bosses in the game - including 84 solo kills on Nex even though I do not like her. I only kill her on reaper task assignments.
That’s to say, I have plenty of experience with bossing, and solo killing Nex is no stranger to me. However, to do this with tier 70 weapons and armor? Whack. I can easily make it through the Smoke and Shadow phase, but the Blood Phase is just a wall. I know I could easily make it past the Ice and Zaros phases, but I just can’t get past the DPS check of the blood phase. The closest I have gotten is to get to 100% adren, phase her, use onslaught, then finger of death twice, then volley of souls. However, she quickly regains her lost health and then some over the next cycle as I am unable to bring her all the way down to 80,000 hp.
And this is from a maxed combat stat character with plenty of bossing time - could you imagine being a base 80 player just going along Necromancy’s regular route? That’s as close to impossible as it’s going to get. I just don’t quite understand what Jagex’s thoughts were when making Nex the boss to kill. Like why not a GWD2 boss like Vindicta & Gorvek that doesn’t have absolutely jank mechanics and a ludicrous DPS check.
As I see it, the only way that you can complete this at base 80 is with a team. Thoughts?
