While skilling, Imps can spawn and they drop the eggs, you can collect these eggs and hand them in for the rewards at the easter bunny (located south of falador)
That hopefully explains it slightly better, I'll see if we can get this info added to the newspost too.
The mention of mystery boxes makes me think its just another token event tbh, with "eggs" being the tokens
You will not be able to purchase additional eggs with runecoins or bonds. You can only collect the eggs by playing.
Is it even active? I have no idea how to start it, the patch notes are honestly vague about it

The event will be active from april 8th till April 15th.
The Easter event will run from April 8th to April 15th, so set your egg-timers now.
In the past we've had at least 2 weeks for Easter Events. Why are you limiting it to 1 week all of a sudden? And it's not even accessible the day you add it to the game...
There is no real reason why it is 1 week, aside from that it might be disruptive to some if it were to go on for too long. The balancing of the easter event is also rather generous and not very grindy so it should be relatively easy to get all the rewards from the event.
Why were flickering effects auto-toggled back on & are now not able to be toggled off? This is just begging for people to suffer epileptic attacks
I've asked the team around, but this toggle doesn't do what you expect it to do. It an old toggle and only affects something in the killerwatt area.
So this isn’t a traditional Easter event, a mini quest? Is this just an MTX token event with an Easter theme?
I don't think I can judge what is or isn't a traditional easter event. We're trying something out here and we'll see what the easter bunny has in store for us!
Worth noting is that event has no monetisation, if that is what you're concerned about.

It wasn't ready to be part of monday's release, good news however is that we just hotfixed this 5 minutes ago!
