So "The Dig Site" is a pretty old quest, not only having been one of the first 50 quests, but is one of the very last quests released in Runescape Classic.

The Sequential activities unlocked by the quest such as Panning, Specimen cleaning and Digging, while never really being truly popular, were for the longest time, pretty popular methods for Lowbies to get some somewhat expensive/annoying items.

Obviously since then better better methods have came out, and unless you're going for your Digsite Pendent, almost no one actually bothers with these anymore.

That being said, I wonder with the release of Archeology at the end of the month, will these be Incorporated into the Skill itself, as a low level training method (Maybe by adding Restoration Materials to the drop list?)

Will they be left alone?

or Maybe removed altogether, with the Archeology Tutorial replacing the Digsite Quest?

Has Jadex mentioned anything about this yet?

these activities in the dig site quest won't give you archaeology XP. The team has focused more on polishing the skill and adding new content over reworking old content.

To make it clear the team has made some change to how the dig site is represented to separate the dig site activities from the archaeology guild for example. (This includes dig site quest icons to the Varrock dig site activities for example)
