[2023] Can I Use Steam if I Sign up for a Jagex Account?

Hello,

Pretty much the title. I usually play RS3 via Steam but the wording about the new Jagex accounts makes it seem like I need to play through the official Jagex Launcher or it won't work. I just want to make sure I'm reading it right before I start changing things around.
