We not only need more variety in terms of objectives and activities in Expeditions. We need a new map. Judging by their past comments, all of that is going to be DLC instead of going into the base game.

Look at Generation Zero as to what to expect from them after Early Access. Even if they add new, much needed content. It will come with a price tag.

The full release of the game should very much be seen as the base game, and we've announced that it will include a new map, so not sure how you came to that conclusion. :)
