[2021] Launcher 2021.7.1 does not work - "Steam Runtime Communication Error" [macOS 11.4]

Can I see the launcher logs you mention please? Because you should be on 2021.7.2 now.

Not so far as I know, but it's possible I guess. Was there no cpatch.log there? That would have shown any such comms issue.  

I don't understand how that is possible - the launcher always creates that when it runs! You are looking here ~/Library/Application Support/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/ ?
