DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log .

This looks like a problem with that Intel video driver or hardware:
Windows Error Reporting:
+++ WER0 +++:
Fault bucket LKD_0x141_Tdr:6_IMAGE_igdkmdn64.sys_GEN12LP_DX9_BBHANG, type 0
Event Name: LiveKernelEvent
I haven't seen that specific Xe Graphics hardware before, but you might try a clean reinstall of that driver:

- uninstall the existing Intel video driver
- reboot
- install the latest by fresh download from the HP support site or Intel:

Drivers & Software

Download new and previously released drivers including support software, bios, utilities, firmware and patches for Intel products. downloadcenter.intel.com - reboot again

We should also check for overheating; Please report the temperatures of your CPU and video (GPU)
1/ before starting the game up and
2/ after say 10 minutes' play.
If your PC's vendor has given you no way of reading temperatures, install

Those temps don't look right at all, 10c? Hardly likely! Please try some other utility such as Speccy or GPU-Z.

But I have to say this is looking more and more like a hardware problem.

Those new screenshots are just the CPU I think. Overheating is more usually the GPU, what temps do you see there?

That's getting up there, but not quite at the levels that usually cause problems. It never ever gets to 80c or over?

I focus on this because your symptoms are very typical of overheating.

90c is absolutely a problem. This was just the GPU at that temp, right? Not the CPU?

Overheating can be caused by two things - an app pushing the CPU or GPU too hard, or a problem in the cooling system - dust blocking vents, faulty fans or sensors. This game is set to a modest 60hz refresh rate, so it's not the game doing this as such.

If you have any overclocking set up on this machine, try undoing it.

That aside, given it's a new machine I'm pretty sure you have a hardware fault since it's unlikely it has gathered much dust yet.

Yep, definitely a harwdar efault. Glad you got that resolved so quickly!
