[2019] Gamesave Invalid

Hello,

When you say backup saved files are the saved files made with the "BACKUP" option in the campaign map screen??

Could you paste here a screenshot with the error window?

What is happening when you replace again the original saved folder with the saved games? The one you did a copy before? The problem continues?

I should also mention that I usually play the game on a different computer on the weekends when I visit family. Although, that has never been an issue before.

Hello,

Depending on the exact error, usually it's brought along by the STEAM cloud. If you play locally and you don't need that STEAM tool, we recommend you to disable it. This tool is really problematic, not only with TAB but also with a big amount of other games.

I actually need Steam cloud because I play on multiple computers. Never had any problems with it though.

The exact error is:
"It seems the file with the game information saved is invalid. This can be because it was created with an old version of TAB or has been modified with an external application."

I only played it yesterday on the same computers as today :(. Oh well, if there is no fix I'll just start over again. Hopefully it won't happen again.

We are glad you have never suffered this same error with other games but that doesn't mean this error doesn't exist for other games.

There is not fix for a problem that the game doesn't cause so we cannot do anything about.

If you don't play locally maybe you can make more backups of your progress in the campaing with the optione we added for it. Pulse ESC key in main map screen and use "Backup" option. With several files probably you will be able to avoid the problem.

We also hope you don't suffer such a problem we made the game to everybody enjoy playing.

I've played thousands of hours on steam games and never had a single error due to steam cloud, this seams like a "we dont want to take care of this issue" answer TBH.

I've stopped playing because I'm not going to be able to finish the campaign. For an early adopter waiting for the campaign, this is extremely frustrating, but it seems you don't really care for a lot of time now...

The problem is not that your saved files were not on STEAM cloud, the problem is that if you have the STEAM cloud active you will suffer this issue. You are lucky if you have not suffered this issue with other games, but there are thousands and thousands of users that had this problem not only with TAB but also with other games.

We had not any problem in fixing issue how we have been doing since the game was released in EA but we cannot deal or mend a problem that is not brought along by the game. Indeed we also added an option in campaing map screen to allow player to do all the game saved backups that they want just to avoid this issue.
