[2019] So did they update the dark forest aka the first map with a new look?

Two new maps were added (The Deep Forest and the Caustic Lands) and probably you are playing on of them that is the first and the easiest one. After beating The Deep Forest you will be able to play The Dark Moorlands which was the first map previouly to the addition.
