What do you mean with "updates"? Check if your antivirus is corrupting your saved games.

So you are perfectly loading in the a game, start up your world and once you are 'spawned' in the world, your character is moving straight forward?

I suggest two things, either go to this useful website and report your issue https://valheimbugs.featureupvote.com/ or if you have Discord, make sure to join Valheim and go to either a channel called #valheim-help or #bug-discussion. We have loads of active supportive members over there that maybe can help you out solving your problem!
